Chapter 335

Chapter 335: Big Elephant, Big Elephant, Why Is Your Nose So Long?

Mountains of snow are a great place.

Why?

Because the snow bunnies here are delicious!

A herd of Bobo (snow mammoth-like creatures) was fleeing in panic. The one at the rear was tackled by Jié Jié, who buried his head into its fur and bit down on the warm, soft neck.

These Bobos aren’t domesticated birds or urbanization experts—they’re grass-eating monsters resembling mammoths but without trunks. They live in frigid regions, their bodies much larger than other herbivorous monsters, yielding more meat.

To survive the cold snowy mountains, Bobos have thick layers of fat and protein, making them the perfect food supply for predators.

If they ever left the snowy mountains to wander around, they’d be instantly snatched up by various carnivorous monsters.

No monster would say no to having Bobo on their menu.

The Spiny Dragon exhaled sparks, burning off the long fur of the Bobo cleanly. It then joyfully tore into the flesh.

The fat layer melted in the mouth, coating it as it mixed with the chewed meat, softening the texture—rich but not greasy, like a naturally premium braised pork belly dish. Jié Jié ate until his face gleamed with oil.

Eat one raw, then another cooked.

Snowy mountain areas are located at high latitudes, with even higher altitudes covered in deep snow, making the terrain perilously steep. Even large monsters risk slipping and falling into ravines.

Such treacherous conditions reduce the activity of dangerous large monsters, allowing smaller herbivores to grow relatively safely.

This makes the snowy mountains rich in delicacies—not just Bobos, but also plenty of snow deer and wild boars, all in abundance.

But now, Jié Jié only wanted Bobo.

One Bobo yields as much meat as three snow deer and three wild boars. He could stay put and eat his fill without moving around too much, entering what he called his “instant noodles zone.”

Even if two packs might be too much, nobody can eat just one pack of instant noodles! Nobody!

Jié Jié transformed into Hōng Lóng and chased after the fleeing herd of Bobos.

Leaping onto a steep cliff wall, he surveyed the herd from above, picking out the fattest individuals.

“Hmm?”

Among the hunched-over Bobos, there was one that stood taller than the rest. Its back was turned to Jié Jié, but its pure white fur stood out vividly against the brown-haired herd.

What the—? A rare find!

However, these young, strong individuals were at the front of the fleeing herd. If he pounced, he might split the herd in two.

If several Bobos fell off the icy mountain paths, who knows whose dinner they’d become?

Hōng Lóng’s claws dug into the mountain wall, holding him steady as he patiently waited for the herd to stop.

When the Bobos finally paused in a relatively open area, he lunged toward the large white-furred one.

“Roar! Roar!”

“Strong lad, aren’t you? Wait, why do you have a trunk?”

Bobos don’t have trunks!

“Roar!!!”

Before Jié Jié could figure out whether he had indeed tackled a Bobo, a mighty roar erupted from a nearby cave. The ground trembled as a massive beast charged straight at him.

Jié Jié, still stroking the “Bobo’s” long nose, turned his head just in time to see the enormous tusks rushing toward him.

The terrifying impact sent him flying. The thick, spiky trunk lashed out, tearing through Hōng Lóng’s tough hide. But the trunk didn’t break free immediately—it coiled tightly around Jié Jié’s waist, ready to throw him away while working in tandem with the massive tusks.

Jié Jié braced himself, standing upright, pushing against the giant beast with both claws. His blood-filled mouth snapped toward the beast’s head.

The creature’s skull was covered in resilient armor, which ordinary Hōng Lóng bites couldn’t penetrate. But Jié Jié’s teeth were sharp; the armor cracked and bled upon impact.

Blood trickled down to the beast’s eyes, unleashing a ferocity in the herbivore that rivaled any predator.

He felt the flexible trunk tighten around his waist like steel muscles. The massive tusks trapped his forearms and lifted him upward.

Still biting the beast’s head, unaware, Jié Jié’s feet were suddenly lifted off the ground, flailing helplessly. His tail swayed confusedly from side to side.

As the beast violently shook its head, Jié Jié was thrown off and tumbled down the snowy mountain.

“Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?”

Rolling down the steep snowy cliffs, he found himself contemplating life’s big questions.

Looking up, he saw the giant beast peering down from the edge of the snowy mountain, stomping its hooves forcefully. Layers of snow and rocks cascaded down, triggering a small avalanche.

Jié Jié tensed his body, leaped off the ground with brute force, and soared back to land on the other side of the beast.

Thick trunk, hard headshell, majestic tusks, not overly long in body length but towering like a Mountain God.

The term “giant” wasn’t just an adjective—it was the Guild’s official name for this monster.

Jié Jié glanced at the “white-furred Bobo” behind the giant beast, realizing it was clearly the offspring the giant had hidden among the Bobo herd.

“Roar!!!”

The giant roared, firmly protecting its young behind it, hooves pounding the snowy ground as its fiery red eyes locked onto the Hōng Lóng before it.

Jié Jié, seeing the maternal instincts fully activated in this single mother, decided to chase after the restarted fleeing Bobo herd instead.

Had he known it was a baby giant, he wouldn’t have pounced!

After catching another Bobo, he transformed into a Sky Dog Beast and pulled out tools from the silk sacs at the tips of his wing-claws to begin tinkering.

In addition to his barbecue set, he now had a frying pan.

He had been carefully collecting various ores along the way, relying on his superior “technology” to successfully craft his very own pot!

He wiped some snow on the pot to clean and lubricate it, lit a fire, and smeared it with a block of oil. Then he threw in chunks of Bobo meat.

Seeing the fire wasn’t strong enough, Jié Jié crushed some combustible stone powder and sprinkled it in, then blew on it.

The flames roared fiercely!

Huge chunks of meat began rolling in the massive frying pan, releasing plumes of white smoke that rose into the sky.

“Smells amazing, but alas, no soy sauce.”

Cooking under high heat, the meat cooked quickly. Compared to direct grilling over fire, stir-frying better retained the juices within the meat, especially for tender, fatty ingredients like Bobo meat. Grilling it dry and hard would be such a waste!

Feeling the bouncy texture burst with juice and oil in his mouth, Jié Jié felt his dragon life had reached fulfillment.

Back in the New Continent, the Ailu Cat chef mostly served soups, bits, and grilled meat. But such heavily oiled roasted meat was something he’d never tasted.

His pot was huge, and after several rounds, he had nearly cooked an entire Bobo down to just skin and fur. Wiping the grease from his lips, he still felt unsatisfied.

Looking up, lost in thought, Jié Jié caught sight of the stunning aurora lighting up the sky.

Transforming back into Hōng Lóng, he began climbing the mountain wall, planning to reach the summit to admire the magnificent aurora.
