Chapter 319: Roasting a Whole Pig.
The Thunder Wolf Dragon eventually caught up, and two days later, the hunters also pursued and arrived.
Both the Thunder Wolf Dragon and the hunters were trailing behind Ruin City, naturally leading to an encounter. They even triggered a territorial dispute, seemingly to decide who could follow Ruin City.
Jie Jie used Energy Perception to monitor the situation behind. He didn’t mind if the Thunder Wolf Dragon or the hunters followed him, but if both sides clashed, he’d prefer the Thunder Wolf Dragon to stick around.
But there was no doubt that the Thunder Wolf Dragon would lose.
Having overheard at the Great Elder Hall, he understood the hunters’ principles; they most likely wouldn’t kill the Thunder Wolf Dragon, either repelling it or capturing it.
Still, he decided to intervene a little.
“Ruin City has stopped.”
In the distance, Ruin City halted its steps, causing the hunters to divert some attention towards its movements.
“Hmm, Hubble, stop playing around and quickly repel the Thunder Wolf Dragon.”
Kempe glanced at the Great Sword warrior ramming like a fool and urged him on.
“Alright, alright, I just wanted to see how many times it could slap.”
The Great Sword warrior shifted his offensive stance, ceasing to use the Great Sword defensively against the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s relentless punches. Pushing the Great Sword, he rotated his body, evading the descending claw of the Thunder Wolf Dragon, then swung the Great Sword horizontally from its side.

The Great Sword slightly angled with restrained force to avoid cutting deeply into the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s flank, which could result in irreparable injuries.

“He didn’t pursue.”
The rear guard hunter broke the silence.
“It’s all Hubble’s fault for not being decisive. Now we have to widen our observation distance.”
The female archer sighed helplessly.
“Huh? Aren’t you curious how many times the Thunder Wolf Dragon can slap? It can’t keep doing that forever, right!”
The Great Sword warrior’s eyes widened as he looked at the Katana Warrior and then the Dual Blade Warrior, finally glaring hardest at the female archer.
“Alright, I’m curious too.”
The female archer averted her gaze. After so many days, everyone had become familiar with each other; she wouldn’t express herself to strangers.
“No worries, maybe the Queen Mantis is hungry and went to hunt the Thunder Wolf Dragon. If the Thunder Wolf Dragon survives, we’ll gain more intelligence.”
Kempe updated the current situation in his notebook.
“In that case, it’s my fault. I should have fully repelled the Thunder Wolf Dragon from the start to prevent it from falling prey to the mantis.”
The Great Sword warrior shook his head wistfully, his tone tinged with regret for the Thunder Wolf Dragon.

Kempe stood up, ending their brief rest.
They noticed Ruin City resuming movement, and the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s tracks weren’t stained with blood, continuing onward.

The team’s atmosphere lightened somewhat.

Kempe’s gaze moved from the Katana Warrior to the female archer.
“And Lena, you go to the town to report the situation. If we notice Ruin City heading that way, we’ll shoot out signal flares.”
“I don’t have any issues.”
Though unsaid, everyone knew what to do next.
The hunter squad thus split up, while Jie Jie routinely steered Ruin City forward.
Suddenly scanning the surroundings, he found only the Katana Warrior still following Ruin City. Did the others scatter due to other tasks?
Jie Jie shook his head, recalling the aerial view from last night’s flight.
Ahead, the mountain range curved to the right with a noticeable gap. Turning right would reveal a fairly sizable ruin!
Ruin City increased its speed, successfully arriving at the ruins before nightfall, continuing its improvement plans.
Tired from the modifications, he ventured into the nearby forest to find food, catching a startled wild boar.
“Awooo~~~”
Exiting the forest, Jie Jie heard the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s howl, turning back to see its glowing eyes deep within, holding a bloody wild boar in its mouth.
“Tsk tsk tsk.”
Its mandibles clicked together, making a teasing sound, but “whoosh,” accompanied by a flash of electricity, the Thunder Wolf Dragon vanished.
He didn’t chase it, instead handling the wild boar by gutting it on the spot and bringing it under Ruin City’s tail.
Finding a barbecue rack in the cockpit, he skewered the whole boar, intending to try roasting it.
Meanwhile, the Thunder Wolf Dragon found a safe corner to tear into its bloody meal, but the scent of roasted meat wafted into its nostrils.
“Hmph, hmpf!”
Sniffing twice, the taste of blood in its mouth seemed less potent, not as delicious. The wild boar’s flesh contained bones, making it crunch less satisfyingly.
And… it wasn’t very salty (salt).
The Thunder Wolf Dragon licked its lips, gathering a bit of blood foam back into its mouth.

It cautiously approached the large monster with its bloodied meal, watching beneath its tail. The firelight flickered in its pupils, uncertainly brightening and dimming.

Jie Jie tore a leg off the sizzling pig, placing it on the ground before retreating under Ruin City’s tail, gnawing while his eyes watched the Thunder Wolf Dragon.
When he saw it, unable to resist temptation, pounce on the meat, bite it, retreat, and swallow eagerly, he felt the moment the whole pig in his mouth became the most delicious.
“A bit too salty.”
The Katana Warrior guarding the supplies took a bite of portable rations.
