Chapter 278: Radiant Black Dragon.
“This area belongs to the gods, you shouldn’t go there.”
When was the last time someone spoke to him?
It was at the lighthouse in Tangjia Port, a young dragon person in black.
Jie Jié felt a chill run down his spine, like he had been startled, and immediately shot out of the building.
Only when he returned to the open sky did he calm down slightly, observing the dragon scholar.
The dragon scholar scratched his head, instantly breaking the intense atmosphere from before. He broke off a piece of bread crumb and placed it on the windowsill.
He was just an ordinary old dragon person, chatting idly with birds while having nothing better to do.
Why would anyone have nothing better to do than talk to birds?!
Jie Jié flapped his wings and flew back to the window of the building, pecking at the breadcrumbs while continuing to look at the map.
Besides the Divine Realm and the traces of the Flame King Dragon, the map also marked all hunter camps and bases in this area.
This must be a place for observing the activities of ancient dragons, the Ancient Dragon Observation Bureau?
Under the scholar’s manipulation, the probe mirror outside began to rotate, scanning the surroundings.
After rotating once, the probe mirror stopped.
Perhaps no significant findings were made, the seemingly lonely elderly dragon smiled at him, moved the documents that buried the bed aside, lay down, and fell asleep.
After confirming the scholar’s steady breathing during sleep, Jie Jié flew into the building and brought his head close to the probe mirror facing the direction of the Divine Realm.
The probe mirror was in wide-angle mode, including the distant volcanoes within its range.
The probe mirror could clearly adjust focus and magnification, but Jie Jié wasn’t quite sure how to operate it. He slightly turned his head, directing resonance toward the scholar’s drowsy bubble.
…
My job is to observe every movement around here, day after day, life repeats itself.
In this narrow little room, eating supplies provided by the supply teams coming and going, exchanging ingredients with intelligence teams, guiding young people who need support.
Occasionally, when natural disasters are observed, their trajectories are transmitted, small villages evacuate, large bases prepare for battle.
The Dongduoluma probe explores all mysteries and threats. We aren’t on the front line between humans and dragons, but we are always on the front line between humans and dragons.
We are the Ancient Dragon Observation Bureau, the eyes of humanity.
The probe rotates day after day, from wide-angle to focus, then back to wide-angle. The most important direction for this observation bureau is the no-fly zone named “Sanctuary of the Gods” and the surrounding volcanoes.
That Flame King Dragon can fly, shocking the jaws of those young people.
He flew away.
Today, the Divine Realm didn’t thunder, the sea conditions were fine, so why did the volcano erupt?
Even in dreams, the scholar remained puzzled.
“Because there is a Radiant Black Dragon there.”
A bird chirped incessantly in his dream.
“I know about the Radiant Black Dragon, it’s a widely circulated legend of the Divine Realm among hunters in Loke Clark.”
The scholar smiled as he spoke, which left Jie Jié completely stunned.
“Widely circulated?”
“Yes, very widely circulated.”
The scholar enjoyed conversing with this bird, treating it as his own reflection, since he happened to see the bird before sleeping and thought about it.
“If everyone already knows the answer, then why are you still confused?”
Confusion shifted to Jie Jié, but before the scholar could speak, he quickly understood everything under the pressure of doubt.
“Some say they saw a red dragon in the Divine Realm, some saw a white dragon, others say they saw the legendary black dragon, perhaps the Radiant Black Dragon is just one member of the black dragon legends.”
The scholar didn’t believe in so-called hearsay; he preferred to see things with his own eyes, using the probe mirror.
“What about the naming?”
If the name has appeared, shouldn’t there be more characteristics passed down?
“I’m not sure where this title originated.”
More doubts filled the scholar’s dream, he doubted whether the Radiant Black Dragon truly existed, and similarly doubted if it was merely a legend.
But in the dream, he had no doubt whatsoever about the talking bird in front of him.
“Has the guild not investigated?”
“They have, it was several years ago, during the time when the legend of the Radiant Black Dragon was widely spread. A team of guild hunters and a team of royal bookkeepers, I watched their airship disappear into the pitch-black clouds, leaving the observation range.”
“They went missing.”
Tears streamed down the scholar’s eyes, he was the last person to watch the heroes depart, the observation station even narrowly missed the airship as they waved goodbye with smiles, leaving questions behind awaiting answers.
But he never received those answers.
Sharing the same dream and establishing resonance, the strong emotions of the dream owner infected Jie Jié, unable to control himself, he sighed.
He understood his current state, the scholar wouldn’t doubt him in his dreams at least.
Then, following a certain principle of exchange—
“The Radiant Black Dragon isn’t a black dragon, but a genuinely existing forbidden creature.”
In the dream, dark clouds covered the exterior of the Ancient Dragon Observation Station, a shadow blurred within them, the scholar staggered towards the probe mirror, trying to catch a glimpse of its true form.
“He can control nearly all natural elements, manipulating thunderbolts.”
Storms began rampaging within the dark clouds, a magnificent heavenly authority.
“Summon blizzards.”
Hail fell from the dark clouds, almost swallowing the earth.
“And ignite magma.”
The shadow dove towards the ground, volcanoes rose from the surface challenging the heavens, storms of flames surged into the sky.
“His body is covered in reverse scales, atop his head stands a pair of pillars reaching the heavens, his lower jaw lined with fangs locking onto a beak-like upper jaw.”
The blur began to fade, revealing its true appearance.
He doesn’t possess the awe-inspiring size of an ultra-large monster or any special physical structure, resembling the usual ancient dragon species.
But his neck is more elegant than the Steel Dragon’s, his posture taller than the Crimson Dragon’s, his gaze prouder than the Flame King Dragon’s.
His dark purple body changes colors, his head invoking thunder and turning blue, his body presenting a proud luminous white due to ice, then flashing angry red rays because of fire.
An indescribable feeling of invincibility.
Jie Jié perched on the shoulder of the dragon scholar, gazing directly at the deity under the glorious heavenly authority, feeling his imagination far exceeded the game’s exaggeration.
But such a Radiant Black Dragon was much cooler than that airplane-headed little husband who liked bowing every day.
“It’s not that the Radiant Black Dragon inhabits the Divine Realm, but rather the Divine Realm exists because of the Radiant Black Dragon.”
Looking at the Radiant Black Dragon, Jie Jié decided to make a move in the dream!
The bird flew into the oppressive cloud layer, but suddenly the world brightened, as the multicolored alternating light of destruction instantly annihilated the dense clouds.
What else could he say at this point?
“Byd, stop playing your Black Dragon Annihilation Blade and Shattered Dawn Blade!”
The light of destruction swallowed the Ancient Dragon Observation Station.
Awakening from the dream.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
