Chapter 257: The Giant of Light.
Elsa, a lively receptionist, cheerfully greeted every fisherman she encountered along the way.
While exchanging intelligence and discussing with the Compiler, she also didn’t neglect introducing some villagers and facilities.
“This is the Dragon Artisan, an incredibly skilled craftsman. Many hunters visiting the Isolated Island hunting grounds often come to see him.”
According to Elsa’s description, the impressive individual was a small old Dragon Person currently gesturing with two bones towards a large fish while conversing with a fisherman.
“I’ve heard about him even when I was on the Original Continent.”
The Compiler nodded, while the Hunter removed the dual blades from his back, waiting for the Dragon Artisan’s conversation with the fisherman to conclude.
As the fisherman left, the Dragon Artisan gave a slight nod to the Compiler, his gaze lingering on the dual blades in the Hunter’s hand.
“Uncle, these two are members of the Ancient Dragon Investigation Team, the ones who crossed the ocean chasing ancient dragons to explore the New World!”
“I know, I was just wondering about these unfamiliar faces. Heroes have returned, do you need forging or maintenance?”
“Please help us maintain them, Master.”
“Alright, this time it’s on the house. Come find me early tomorrow morning.”
The diminutive old Dragon Person tried to take the dual blades but could only hold the heavy monster bones in one hand, unable to manage the large fish on the ground.
“I’ll lend a hand. I hope the two of you will feel comfortable staying in Mojia Village.”
Upon learning that the two were from the Ancient Dragon Investigation Team, the sea-dwelling hunter’s eyes shone with admiration and quickly followed suit by lifting the large fish under the Dragon Artisan’s wave, keeping pace behind.
The hunter watched as the duo departed, while the Compiler chatted happily with the receptionist.
During their journey, it was mainly the Compiler conversing, silently listening to the exchanged intelligence between the two, occasionally marveling at the progress and development of the era.
“This is my post. This is the commission board of the Isolated Island Hunting Grounds, where you can check out recent monster activities and events.”
“Based on what the two of you said, the White Sea Dragon commission should be ready to be taken down soon…”
As Elsa continued her introduction, Jié Jié had already reached the reef island attached to the village.
To large monsters, the reef island was merely a rock, but for humans, it had been developed into a farm, where fishermen could be seen trading fish meat for vegetables with the farm owner.
What caught Jié Jié’s attention, however, was the pig in the farm.
Unlike the skin-dry, moss-covered mushroom pigs of the New Continent, this little pig looked smooth-skinned and delicious.
Sensing the predatory gaze of the seagull perched on the fence, the little pig emitted a terrified grunt and dove into its little nest, hiding away from the terrifying pressure of the predator.
“Bujie? What’s wrong?”
The farm owner was also a small old Dragon Person, hairless and beardless, wearing a sun-shielding hat, with smooth skin that didn’t seem too old.
He gently lifted the pig out of its nest and soothed it.
The little pig was clean, its nest equally tidy. It was clearly a pet pig and indeed looked adorable.
Jié Jié diverted his gaze, the predator’s craving subsiding, allowing the pet pig named Bujie to stabilize its emotions.
“That’s strange.”
The old Dragon Person looked puzzled, glancing around. Dragon People truly had sharp senses.
But the seagull had already moved from the fence to a tree.
“Chirp chirp!”
The fierce bird call made Jié Jié look up, spotting a bird head poking out of the nest in the tree.
“What’s your problem!”
A fierce aura flowed through his line of sight, making the air around the bird feel thick and suffocating. The bird stiffened and collapsed in its own nest.
Territory dispute—total defeat!
“Boring.”
Jié Jié watched as three people stepped onto wooden planks, chatting with the farm owner.
The Compiler seemed very excited, perhaps because of the plants grown on this farm?
He began to anticipate the banquet mentioned by the village chief.
Turning to preen his feathers, he noticed a short, thick snake appearing in his field of vision, like an eel wriggling out of the ground.
Earth Dragon!
His form slightly expanded, transforming into a more aggressive falcon-like shape, diving to snatch the snake and flying off with it clutched in his talons.
“Eh! Look over there! A Wild Hammer Snake!”
Elsa’s position allowed her to perfectly witness Jié Jié’s predation of the Wild Hammer Snake.
“Earth Dragon! Oh no!”
The Compiler immediately identified the creature dangling from the hawk’s beak and let out a regretful cry.
Wild Hammer Snakes, also known as Earth Dragons, were quite valuable creatures.
Realizing he had drawn their attention, Jié Jié flew with the Wild Hammer Snake to an isolated island resembling the backyard of Mojia Village. As he ate the Earth Dragon, he observed them from afar, showing various emotions.
Just then, a warning sensation traveled through the earth into his spine and reached his brain, causing him to instinctively take flight and leave the ground.
And similarly reacting was the little pig Bujie held in the arms of the farm owner.
It let out a terrified squeal, its trembling body drawing everyone’s attention.
“Eh! Bujie, what’s the matter—”
Being a Dragon Person, the acute perception led the farm owner to immediately sense the anomaly.
The ground was shaking.
“The Earth Dragon has flipped over! An earthquake! An earthquake!”
At this point, the farm owner no longer cared about Bujie and started shouting towards the main part of Mojia Village.
People in Mojia Village also noticed the abnormality. After a brief panic, many chose to jump into the sea.
Mojia Village, being a water-based village, did not suffer significant damage. The intensity of the earthquake wasn’t high either and quickly ceased.
However, the villagers’ unease and chaos didn’t stop. The village chief gathered everyone to calm them down, with many sea-dwelling villagers believing it was the anger of the Sea God that caused it.
Thus, the evening banquet welcoming the heroes was expedited, and the sea-dwellers decided to conduct a Sea God Festival to ease everyone’s fear of the earthquake.
But all of this currently had nothing to do with Jié Jié, as he had already entered the sea to investigate the culprit behind the earthquake.
The earthquake had just begun, and the people of Mojia Village couldn’t yet associate it with a monster’s presence, but he knew well that a certain ultra-large ancient dragon in the sea could cause such earthquakes.
He quickly found the faint flickering light in the ocean. Normally, underwater lights would be called gifts from the Sea God by the sea-dwelling people of Mojia Village.
Because these lights would attract large schools of fish, providing Mojia Village with a bountiful harvest.
But now, the attracted fish were thrown into chaos due to the commotion caused by the massive creature.
The ocean itself was also creating violent currents with the rampage of the large monster, no longer peaceful.
As the massive creature began using its horns to collide with the underwater shelf of the isolated island, another earthquake occurred.
Another even more dazzling streak of light approached the raging ultra-large monster. Sensing the energy trajectory, Jié Jié could quickly confirm the direction of the epicenter to determine the approximate location of the other party.
In the form of an Abyssal Wave Dragon, he sized up the light-giant dwelling in the deep sea before him.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
