Chapter 219

Chapter 219: Blazing Up.

After leaving the lair of the Flame King Dragon couple, nearby caves still showed remnants of old spines shattered by the Extinction Dragon and traces of battles; she had clearly roamed here for a while.

As expected, the hunting efficiency of the Extinction Dragon couldn’t compare to his.

Continuing his patrol through several main underground magma caves, he occasionally transformed into a Flame King Dragon to feed on some required glowing coal rocks, preparing fully to drive away the Ice Curse Dragon before re-locking onto her trail that he had discovered earlier.

The water marks from melting ice should have been unremarkable, but the Guide Insects were clinging to them, flashing faint blue lights.

The Spiny Dragon’s claw stomped heavily, the vibrations startling the Guide Insects into flight, their colors shifting dangerously red.

The red soon faded as these little critters swarmed around him, shining with the same blue light as before.

As he moved forward, unfused ice crystals began appearing on the ground, and the path ahead grew colder.

After rounding a bend, an open cave came into view.

Its entrance was covered in frost, with cold air spreading throughout, clearly temporarily modified due to the Ice Curse Dragon’s residence.

Jié Jié began the stealthy movement characteristic of the Spiny Dragon during hunting, his massive form slowly advancing, striving to blend with the ambient sounds.

But it was too quiet; up ahead should be a scene of everything frozen.

When his claws scraped against the rocky ground with the first faint sound, his figure paused. A transformation occurred, landing with the padded feet of a Flame King Dragon.

The radiating flames were instantly gathered in, and now he was just an ordinary big kitty cat.

Peering into the icy mist, his line of sight scanned through it, capturing the silhouette facing away from him.

The Ice Curse Dragon lay quietly on the ground like an ice sculpture.

Regrettably, her magnificent ice armor wasn’t fitting snugly onto her body.

Her glass-like shell had been reshaped under the eruption of magma, with all scars vanished from its surface.

Even without the glow of magma and flames, his eyes still picked up the reflected light off her shell.

If only she didn’t have such an irritable temper, she could stay like this beautiful ice statue forever.

So, is she asleep?

But Jie Jie remained still, silently observing the Ice Curse Dragon, monitoring every possible move she might make.

Until the ice creeping from the cave entrance reached his feet and continued spreading along the cave.

Jie Jie shivered, feeling a chill.

Just like how Magma Dragons would freeze below 50°, Flame King Dragons also require high-temperature environments and possess the ability to create such conditions.

By suppressing the emission of flames, he also suppressed this ability, thus feeling intense discomfort against the spreading domain of the Ice Curse Dragon.

“Ah~”

A hot breath exhaled from his mouth stood out awkwardly in this frozen landscape.

“Ice sculptures are better suited for icy snowfields.”

Jie Jie stopped suppressing his body heat. The fuel stones inside his chest cavity burned like in a furnace, the red shell rising with rolling heat, creating a hollow where snow and ice melted around him.

He no longer concealed his presence and needed no ambush.

He simply walked forward, announcing his arrival.

His fanged maw closed and opened, flame-lit, as fireballs flew toward the Ice Curse Dragon, illuminating the dimness and lighting up the glossy luster of her glassy shell.

He’d wanted to do this for a long time.

Unfortunately, the Ice Curse Dragon who had lain still like an ice sculpture suddenly spun and sprang up, losing her previous static beauty.

This made Jie Jie feel somewhat regretful.

The fireball exploded on the Ice Curse Dragon’s roaring chest, the splashing flames quickly extinguished by the cold air.

But it was enough for her to feel the discomfort of high temperatures.

“Grunt Roar!”

A cold current gushed forth from the Ice Curse Dragon’s beak-shaped mouth, breaking through the Flame King Dragon’s warming domain, blowing past his crimson mane, bringing icy discomfort.

Ice Curse Dragons are weak against fire, Flame King Dragons are weak against ice, because they each represent the extremes of temperature.

The breath did not stop instantly, and the altered environment seemed to give the Ice Curse Dragon great confidence.

The impact of circumstances on individual strength differences is significant, much like how Jie Jie’s domain was currently being suppressed.

“Huff!”

Flames spewed from his mouth, melting and evaporating the fine ice crystals in the cold current.

The Ice Curse Dragon’s breath formed a straight column, requiring her to stabilize her body, whereas the Flame King Dragon’s breath was far more convenient, able to spray while running, with the returning flames splashing onto his body and burning fiercely with his roar.

Seeing him charging rapidly, the Ice Curse Dragon stopped her breath attack and took to the sky instead.

Her slender head hung down from above, one circle after another of ice pillars rose from the ground, the regular height differences making them resemble layered cakes.

The exquisite ice crystals blossomed with brilliant colors as the flames approached, their final moments of brilliance.

The explosive impact wrapped around the Flame King Dragon’s shell as Jie Jie crushed everything before him, effortlessly dodging the sword tail behind the layers of shattered ice.

The sword tail circled around, stabbing from another direction.

But Jie Jie had already leapt towards the Ice Curse Dragon herself, shaking off dust everywhere with his wings.

The flame-covered fangs grazed against the Ice Curse Dragon’s shell, the candles on the cake arriving late in an incorrect form.

Firelight swept away the cold, smashing through the ice on the ground.

Melting, sublimation, they never disappeared, locked within the frozen cave beside the Frost Monarch, reshaping into ice again, falling back to the ground.

Ice blocks continuously burst and exploded, being melted by Jie Jie’s surface flames while simultaneously suppressing and consuming the heat.

Looking at the Ice Curse Dragon in the air, her ice armor and sharp crown angles shining, fire and storms once again churned in his mouth, his spread wings allowing ice blocks to fall and strike.

The Flame Storm was unleashed, swirling dust caught up in it, dancing endlessly.

Flame King Dragon Tyrant Hellfire Breath.

Though not perfectly combined, it still carried a hint of the tyrant’s majesty.

The Ice Curse Dragon escaped from the Flame Storm, rising ice walls shooting straight up to the ceiling.

Jie Jie did not chase but added power to the blazing storm before him.

He intended to reverse and destroy the environment reshaped by the Ice Curse Dragon, demolishing the stronghold built by the Frost Monarch, erasing her geographical advantage.

“Roar!!!”

The Ice Curse Dragon screeched, one wall of ice after another rising, connecting with the natural dome to isolate the storm, constructing a fortress.

The storm continuously intensified, expanding, the flames and explosions within being wildly swept by the raging winds, destroying all things pure white.

The fortress of frost wavered and finally collapsed entirely upon Jie Jie’s personal charge.

Face-to-face with the Ice Curse Dragon, fangs opening and closing:

“Fortress mentality is unacceptable.”
