Chapter 159: Sit on the Corpse Suit Dragon’s Dragon Charge~
The shattered shell was breathing in miasma as the muscles twitched, while the microbes sprayed by the Corpse Suit Dragon entered Jié Jié’s body and were promptly brainwashed, now beneficially participating in his vital signs.
The crystals of Thunder Jaw Dragon, Thunder Wolf Dragon, and Sea Dragon dimmed after releasing their energy. The powerful electricity they emitted not only harmed the Extinction Dragon but also triggered its self-protection mechanism, plunging it into unconsciousness.
Just like when the Corpse Suit Dragon falls unconscious, it draws in high concentrations of miasma to form a forbidden zone. Any creature that senses danger will instinctively move away, while those that don’t will have their life energy drained instantly to replenish the Corpse Suit Dragon.
Only monsters of the Ancient Dragon class can enter this forbidden zone.
Jié Jié, who now possesses traits of two Ancient Dragons, also has a corresponding external protection mechanism. The flow of Wind Wrap Armor combined with the gathered miasma forms a gauze-like layer over his body.
It somewhat resembles the Corpse Suit Dragon’s combat state rich in miasma, but with the addition of Wind Wrap Armor, the coverage expands greatly, making Jié Jié look like he’s been wrapped up like a mummy.
The spirit meridians of the Corpse Suit Dragon are seeping into his body, rapidly restoring his strength and bodily functions. Even when Sister Pingzhang was collecting his remains, he vaguely felt something.
Moreover, this is a coma under conscious control; the difference in physical function between being prepared and unprepared is stark, and the brain’s unconsciousness is gradually turning into sleep.
Meanwhile, excessive miasma interferes with a creature’s sense of smell. With the intelligence of a Grim Claw Dragon, it certainly wouldn’t mistake a static mummy for prey.
Of course, another Corpse Suit Dragon isn’t affected by this protective layer. She even likes the Thunder Wolf Dragon who’s slowly turning into a mummy because of their subtle similarities and the densification of microbes on his body.
She uses her wings to hook one side of Jié Jié and the other side of the Extinction Dragon, dragging them forward with difficulty.
After death, the Extinction Dragon also has an external protection mechanism—it simply shrinks itself into a ball piece by piece in the most straightforward way possible.
Chin pressed against throat, horns protecting the front, wings covering the sides, limbs hugging the abdomen—all parts of its body begin to harden, losing vitality.
Aside from the voluntary act of playing dead, there’s also the involuntary state of apparent death initiated by the body, truly deserving the nickname “hedgehog.”
In battle, the Extinction Dragon never hesitates about harming itself. After an intense fight in the Dragon Crystal Land, it’s normal to accidentally exhaust all its stamina.
For Large Monsters, as long as there’s still stamina, the muscle-tightening state during hardening serves as part of defense. In constant collisions during battle, stamina is consumed first.
A sufficiently powerful electric current, however, can instantly deplete the stamina required to maintain muscle hardening.
In a sense, both Jié Jié and the Extinction Dragon are like hunters who have fallen unconscious from exhaustion. And the cat pulling the cat cart, naturally, is the Corpse Suit Dragon.
Unfortunately, the bumpy ride of the dragon charge was rough on Jié Jié, who couldn’t harden like the Extinction Dragon. He woke up in pain, his fate-ridden disabled wing/claw having been bumped along the way until finally being crushed by rocks, causing bone-deep agony.
Driven by the severe pain, his consciousness, which had sunk deep during unconsciousness, shot upward like a rocket. The motionless mummy suddenly jumped!
While ascending like a rocket, Jié Jié passed through the dream space, glimpsing the unlocked totem of the Extinction Dragon but couldn’t stop to give it much attention.
“AAAAHHHH!”
Ignoring the scales and shells that fell off him thanks to the Corpse Suit Dragon, Golden Thunder King cried out in pain without any regal dignity, stumbling around as he swung his broken limb.
Having always been in Spiny Dragon form, being wrapped in dead skin on his back was painful whenever he changed forms.
Amidst his howls, Jié Jié transformed back into the Spiny Dragon. His dark green shell lit up with patterns due to the pain, his red eyes flashing as they met the bewildered gaze of the turning-around Corpse Suit Dragon.
The Corpse Suit Dragon, having collected countless corpses over the years, wasn’t particularly surprised by resurrections or near-death states, merely entering a combat stance while howling.
Normally, in such situations, the Corpse Suit Dragon helps those who don’t want to die maintain some dignity.
But—
This monster before her could transform at will, now appearing as a silver-scaled Corpse Suit Dragon facing off against Sister Pingzhang.
“Hello~”
Jié Jié used the Corpse Suit Dragon’s double jaws to pull a grotesque smile, leaping onto the corpse of the Extinction Dragon and claiming it as his trophy.
The superior structure of the Ancient Dragon with four limbs and two wings allowed his injuries to fall on his back, leaving his four limbs intact.
“HRRRGGH!”
Confused, the Corpse Suit Dragon howled, finally connecting the dots between “can transform” and “can turn into me.”
Such an existence was monstrous even to her.
But instead of retreating, she roared at this “kin.”
Collecting the essence of an Ancient Dragon would grant the Corpse Suit Dragon a great deal of life energy.
Jié Jié shook his body and reverted to the familiar Spiny Dragon form known to Sister Pingzhang, though the patterns on his shell dimmed.
After exiting the excited state, the blood-activated shell began to harden, even contracting slightly to close some of the cracks.
He and Sister Pingzhang seemed to return to their initial encounter earlier this month, standing in opposition.
Jié Jié’s gaze dropped during their standoff, glaring intently at the Extinction Dragon, suspecting whether it was feigning death again.
But there was no sign of breath—was it really dead?
He stomped on the Extinction Dragon, feeling its corpse-like rigidity and slight shaking.
“ROOOAAARRR!!!”
A column of miasma swept past, prompting him to raise his head and roar at the Corpse Suit Dragon. He swallowed a large clump of substantial miasma, spitting it out in the form of Poisonous Fire Breath onto her body.
His claws ready, he prepared to charge, pawing at the seemingly lifeless Extinction Dragon.
Ultimately, the Corpse Suit Dragon retreated, though the abnormality in the surrounding miasma indicated she hadn’t gone far and was still observing from the shadows.
Jié Jié didn’t intend to chase her away. Instead, he transformed into a Corpse Suit Dragon and used his hook claw to pry open the tightly shut eyes of the Extinction Dragon.
Really dead?
Looking at the flipped-up whites of her eyes, Jié Jié suddenly felt a tinge of melancholy.
So-called love for the Extinction Dragon might just be a fantasy and embellishment…
Jié Jié rummaged through the corpse of the Extinction Dragon, searching for a good spot to feed.
Isn’t love often about gaining satisfaction through interaction?
He stuck his head into the embrace of the Extinction Dragon, failing to pry open her claws and instead choosing to start tearing at the side under her wing.
The Corpse Suit Dragon has two pairs of jaws; the outer ones, somewhat alien, are usually used to restrain prey, while the inner ones are for actual biting and eating.
Though the Corpse Suit Dragon’s oral structure doesn’t provide much advantage in biting, the immense strength of an Ancient Dragon makes up for it.
Chunks of hardened skin and flesh were torn off, tasteless and insipid like chewing wax.
Under some psychological influence, what should have been a killing feast turned into mere material collection.
He had already confirmed—the totem of the Extinction Dragon was unlocked.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
