Chapter 152

Chapter 152: The Lively Terrace.

A surge of pain on its back jolted the heavily scarred Spiny Dragon awake from slumber. Its shell was filled with countless wounds, exuding the smell of fresh blood. Sleeping alone had undoubtedly drawn the attention of predators.

Turning its head, it saw a Swift Dragon biting into its wing, while the heavy pressure and dull ache on its back indicated another Swift Dragon pressing down on it.

After the calamity had plowed through the terrace, most monsters fled. Yet, the Swift Dragons took advantage of this opportunity to gather in groups, invading territories left without masters.

Once Swift Dragons start acting in groups, they become bold. These nocturnal shadow-dwellers step out into the sunlight, eyeing Jié Jié, who was covered in injuries, deciding to take advantage of his sleep and feast on him.

But none of Jié Jié’s wounds were fatal. What’s more, what is the nature of a Spiny Dragon? They don’t care about damage taken during sleep; once awakened, they immediately enter a state of rage.

The morning temper has erupted.

The dark green shell lit up instantly with flowing blood, gushing from tiny veins due to the damaged shell.

Jié Jié paid no heed, merely swinging his wings to knock the Swift Dragon off his back, followed by a spray of Poisonous Fire Breath that added grievous burns to the Swift Dragon’s shiny fur.

Fur so glossy? Clearly it hadn’t been beaten enough.

All these scars on his body were left by the Abyssal Wave Dragon. Have you ever seen a breath weapon capable of tearing open the ground and shaping pools?

For both humans and dragons, wounds from fierce battles are always something to be proud of.

From Swift Dragons to Moonlight Swift Dragons, regardless of subspecies or rare variants, Swift Dragons have always been sneaky thieves. That Moonlight Swift Dragon perched atop the Ancient Tower would surely end up on the Hunter Guild’s Task Board if it kept jumping around annoyingly.

With his morning temper unleashed, Jié Jié cursed repeatedly, each curse followed by a fireball wrapped in Intense Poison that entangled its targets.

Realizing he wasn’t an animal fighting for its life, the Swift Dragons abandoned their struggling comrade and fled like the wind.

Swift Dragon meat tastes pretty good, especially when it hasn’t experienced much beating—the texture is very tender.

The leftovers were simply pushed by Jié Jié into the Grand Canyon, sending them off with a quick decomposition package.

After venting his frustrations, the red glow on his shell faded along with his morning temper. Jié Jié then thought of something.

How was he supposed to find the Abyssal Wave Dragon?

Challenge her again at her doorstep?

What if it’s a different one this time?

As long as it’s material from an Abyssal Wave Dragon, it should suffice. But fighting one in full condition is definitely more strenuous than battling one already severely injured.

Moreover, just like people, different individuals have varying attack habits.

Bad news.

At this point, might as well go back to sleep.

During recovery, it’s best to sleep a lot.

In his sleep, the blood spurted from his morning temper mixed with secreted repair fluids, gradually mending his wounds.

Jié Jié slowly opened his eyes, stood upright, and stretched his wings, feeling the slight cracking pain of the scabs on his shell.

His battle intent waned slightly with the dissipation of sleepiness. The form of the Abyssal Wave Dragon seemed less important now since she usually roams between land and sky anyway.

Thinking this way, he still flapped his wings and soared into the wind, landing on the nearest coral peak.

There seemed to be some hoof prints and scorched marks on the ground. It appeared that Qí Lín’s thunderous hooves had passed here while he slept.

Perhaps, it hasn’t gone far yet?

Following the hoof prints with his gaze, Jié Jié eventually spotted a majestic figure standing against the wind on a rock.

Its smaller build, the ability to instantly teleport across terrains, and its high-speed running capability made chasing Qí Lín extremely difficult.

Facing this seemingly intelligent phantom beast, Jié Jié refrained from showing hostility.

As if possessing the ability to discern human intentions, Qí Lín didn’t run away like before. This species even has legends of raising human orphans.

He averted his gaze and looked into the distance.

It was daytime now, and the storm and dark clouds from the previous battle had dissipated, revealing a rather pleasant view.

Following Qí Lín’s gaze, Jié Jié finally noticed a cloud that blended almost perfectly with the surrounding sky.

Most clouds lingered at the midsection of the land coral, but only this one higher up was slightly darker than the sky.

Qí Lín’s gaze seemed able to pierce through the vast airspace, staring intently at the image within the cloud.

Was it a cloud formed by the movements of the Abyssal Wave Dragon?

The sound of thundering hooves reached Jié Jié’s ears, causing him to turn his head just in time to see Qí Lín leap off the peak.

Looking down, the phantom beast skillfully jumped across the isolated islands in the coral sea, effortlessly running even on coral peaks nearly at a ninety-degree angle.

Jié Jié flapped his wings, casting a shadow over Qí Lín.

Qí Lín paused briefly, lifting its head, meeting Jié Jié’s gaze.

Qí Lín has joined the party.

Jié Jié felt as though he heard such a notification.

As they approached, the turbulence of that cloud became increasingly visible.

The Abyssal Wave Dragon was clearly engaged in battle with some monster. Compared to her, Jié Jié was curious about her opponent.

A new Ancient Dragon?

Heading away from the Ancient Tree Forest and the Giant Ant Hill Wasteland, it must be the direction of the Dragon Crystal Land.

As they drew closer, Jié Jié finally caught sight of the two dragons battling in the drizzle, the one locked in combat with the Abyssal Wave Dragon.

Four legs, two wings, her torso and limbs were covered with long, sharp white spines that looked particularly fragile, constantly breaking off during her struggle with the Abyssal Wave Dragon.

But they grew back faster than they broke.

Compared to the slender form of the Steel Dragon and the radiant appearance of the Abyssal Wave Dragon, her white spines only made her look even darker, topped with a pair of thick horns, and her short snout split into fierce fangs.

This dragon, looking every bit like a villain, deserved her name:

Extinction Dragon, bringing endless destruction, disregarding even herself, naturally fitting the title.

Under her contrast, the petite Abyssal Wave Dragon, with her soft lines, appeared like a persecuted cute little girl.

Her shell instantly lit up, the parts renewed by tissue fluid glowing even more dazzlingly.

Entering an excited state directly, Jié Jié charged towards the Extinction Dragon.

Was it to heroically rescue the Abyssal Wave Dragon?

No, it’s because he simply liked this type of Extinction Dragon!

The ominous premonition reached its peak with the sound of wings cutting through the air. The Extinction Dragon retreated from her battle with the Abyssal Wave Dragon, spotting the large Flying Dragon whose eyes gleamed with excitement.

The Burst Scale Dragon’s perception of battle intensified further, but upon sensing something greater from the higher airspace, it hesitated, shedding a few burst scales before turning without a second thought and flying towards the lower levels of the terrace.

When the anomaly squad arrives, how dare a small cop get involved.
