Chapter 62

Chapter 62: The Monster.

Sky-Rending Roar!

The head of the Savage Jaw Dragon compared to the iron skull of the Hōng Lóng was like an egg meeting a goose egg, and when they collided—

Pafu~ egg yolk flowing everywhere.

Of course, not that exaggerated though.

Jié Jié only felt his vision filled with red and yellow patches, a mix of tingling numbness and intense pain, stars dancing all over the sky.

The Dragon Charge of the Hōng Lóng was also halted. But it recovered much faster than the Savage Jaw Dragon and pounced upward, biting down on his neck.

Danger!

Realizing his neck was bitten, Jie Jie couldn’t help but shiver violently, swinging his body using the force from the Hōng Lóng’s impact, smashing it against a nearby ancient tree.

The ancient giant tree groaned but didn’t break.

And the Hōng Lóng didn’t let go either. Jie Jie could feel its teeth piercing through his neck as his throat suffered immense pressure.

Gonna die! Gonna die! Gonna die!

In this critical moment, his neck was tightly stretched, his powerful constitution preventing him from ending up like some disgraceful Bone Hammer Dragon who got bitten to death.

To free his neck from the blade-like teeth of the Hōng Lóng, Jie Jie instinctively leaned backward, lifting the Hōng Lóng exposing its abdomen.

The Hōng Lóng clung to the tree with just one claw, all its brain cells and nerves concentrated in its jaw muscles, maintaining a death grip.

But Jie Jie raised his thigh to a height that would snap the tendons of any ordinary Savage Jaw Dragon, kicking forward with precision right at the middle of the Hōng Lóng’s abdomen.

A beautiful Spartan kick!

Finally, the Hōng Lóng’s massive jaws loosened. Jie Jie staggered back several steps to create distance, stabilizing himself with his tail.

The tendons in his inner thigh screamed in pain, numbing his entire leg before transmitting the agony into the brain of the Savage Jaw Dragon.

It really hurts. If his thigh had been caught and hadn’t bounced back quickly, he might have experienced the excruciating pain of a torn tendon.

Fortunately, the Hōng Lóng must be in even more pain.

Just thinking about that spot made Jie Jie’s numb thigh start hurting, along with his abdomen.

And there was something wet on his neck—that was the saliva the Hōng Lóng sprayed when kicked.

The Hōng Lóng slid down from the tree, lying on the ground shaking its head, saliva and tongue dangling, its face saying “Grunt, kill me.”

I’ll fulfill your wish!

The Savage Jaw Dragon unleashed his rage, opening his dorsal membrane, blood streaming from his nostrils, curling his nasal crest outward amidst the pain.

Jie Jie had grown too complacent.

Winning on land against a group of water dragons bad at terrestrial combat?

Defeating three weak Thunder Wolf Dragons in a one-on-three battle?

Killing a fallen Thunder Wolf Dragon with a single slash of his wing blades?

Jie Jie understood the importance of striking at crucial moments, ensuring opportunities wouldn’t slip away.

But these easy victories had lulled him into a false sense of security.

Now, he faced not some little wolf pup, but a Hōng Lóng sitting atop the ecological niche, incredibly strong and stubbornly headstrong!

He challenged the Hōng Lóng at what it did best—Dragon Charges—and exposed his fatal weaknesses upon failure.

Roaring silently.

A pillar of fire like the hottest lightsaber illuminated in his mouth, slashing toward the still-dazed Hōng Lóng.

Would Jie Jie do it again next time?

Yes, and without regret.

But he would find ways to increase his margin for error in such challenges, avoiding being defeated in a single blow!

Even if he doesn’t repent, facing the approaching Grim Reaper, he must still feel anger and try to bite the Reaper.

This anger engulfed the Hōng Lóng, melting its exposed tongue and the soft tissue extending from its ears.

The fiery pillar extinguished, Jie Jie gasped heavily.

At this moment, the Hōng Lóng’s body displayed both the sooty black and the pristine clarity of glaze, its yellow-and-blue colors smooth like those painted on porcelain.

But as the Hōng Lóng’s body rose and fell, this smooth layer cracked, revealing the nail-white underlayer of scales and dried flesh tissues.

It was still alive, and very angry.

Blood surged into its arms and eye sockets, forcing open the melted scales and damaged blood vessels, leaving behind dark traces on its skin.

The Hōng Lóng opened its massive mouth; the absence of its tongue meant nothing to its formidable cardiorespiratory system.

A terrifying explosion was visibly brewing in the air.

Once again, the Hōng Lóng’s forepaws blurred as they alternated, colliding with the Savage Jaw Dragon with terrifying force.

Jie Jie no longer lowered his head to play the iron-headed fool, alternating his left and right feet, sidestepping to stabilize himself, meeting the Hōng Lóng’s charge with his robust side.

“Boom!”

The Hōng Lóng leapt up to avoid Jie Jie repeating his earlier trick of jumping over its head.

As everyone knows, shoulder ramming carries dominance.

The Hōng Lóng was stopped by the Savage Jaw Dragon. Jie Jie swung his tail to maintain balance, re-stabilizing his body and pushing the Hōng Lóng back.

Following closely, he turned around, his head colliding with the spinning body of the Hōng Lóng, his cheek scorched by the protruding collar piece.

He broke through the barrier formed by the spin, biting onto the Hōng Lóng’s arm.

Steadfast and solid.

Just like the Swift Dragon’s reaction, the Hōng Lóng attempted to swipe with its other un-bitten claw, which the Savage Jaw Dragon skillfully dodged.

Tsk, the reactions of this skeletal structure are pretty much the same after all.

Jie Jie lifted it high and slammed it hard onto the ground.

But the vitality of the Hōng Lóng far exceeded that of the Swift Dragon. It kept trying to find leverage on the Savage Jaw Dragon, using both its jaws and claws.

Jie Jie could only continuously shift his body, consuming large amounts of energy while shaking his head, accumulating damage on the Hōng Lóng while avoiding being grabbed or bitten.

A bit tough to handle. The Hōng Lóng was too heavy, its bones extremely sturdy and difficult to bite through or tear apart.

But when his side eye met the Hōng Lóng’s gaze, his soul was revealed and transmitted through the window of their eyes.

Anger, hostility, malice, savagery, and pride.

This is a monster.

This is a monster.

Using a slightly dramatic description, this was truly a monster that crawled out of hell to seek revenge on the world.

But Jie Jie’s other eye saw the young Savage Jaw Dragon running over.

This Savage Jaw Dragon had already risen and recovered somewhat, but it hesitated.

However, in the end, the hesitation-induced retreat transformed into greater momentum while running.

It came, biting the Hōng Lóng’s tail, holding on tight, sharing the pressure Jie Jie was enduring.

This is also a monster.

This is also a monster.

Jie Jie’s gaze softened.

Being pulled in two directions locked the Hōng Lóng’s limb movements, making it like the rope in a tug-of-war.

But this tug-of-war wasn’t about winning or losing; it was about breaking the rope, even though the rope was strong and they couldn’t snap the Hōng Lóng’s muscle-bound skeleton.

A lone wolf can be called a stray dog, but once the wolf isn’t alone, increasing to two, it becomes a pack.

Even higher predators should fear and consider the implications of encountering such a pack.
