Chapter 54

Chapter 54: Joy Restricted by Pot Size

The finest ingredients often only require the simplest cooking methods.

The eggshell was simply placed over the fire, and the water inside had already begun to boil under the high temperature.

Casually tearing a strip of fish meat from the Water Dragon’s body, it was directly dropped into the boiling water.

The pinkish fish meat bubbled around its edges; a bit of blood mixed with the bubbles, swirling into foam-like snow accumulating beside the meat, floating on the water.

The Sky Dog Beast fished out this layer of “snow” with a wooden stick and fed it into its mouth.

It had no flavor, perhaps because the water was still boiling, making it hard to taste anything.

“Grunt!”

Jié Jié turned his head, casually grabbing the tail of a baby Fire Dragon.

The Wooden Ladle innocently looked at him; the fish meat allocated to it was already eaten, and the other baby dragons were not much different,蠢蠢欲动 (restless).

Such perfect Water Dragon meat, Jie Jie did not allow them to recklessly gnaw on the Water Dragon’s corpse. Instead, he carefully cut pieces of meat from the corpse, using large fish scales as bowls to serve them in front of the young ones.

The priority was given to the meat that had been damaged during the battle.

Ahem, after all, rotten meat aids in the digestion of baby dragons.

Jie Jie thought absentmindedly, reluctantly glancing at the fish meat being cooked in the pot before tearing more meat from the Water Dragon to distribute among the baby dragons.

Returning to the pot made of eggshells, he added another strip of fish meat, quietly guarding it, watching the bubbles rise, white smoke swirling, drifting towards the sky.

Gazing at the small wisp of cooking smoke, his heart remained calm. If only he had a fishing rod, he believed he could also catch some fish on the side.

Perhaps the Sky Dog Beast lacked patience, but Jie Jie certainly didn’t.

A rod made of wood dangled down, lifting the first strip of fish meat he had dropped earlier.

It had transformed into a crystal-clear white, the resilience of the Large Monster’s flesh allowing it to hang intact on the rod without falling apart.

Jie Jie tilted his head back, opening the beak of the Sky Dog Beast, the snow-white fish meat slipping in.

Under the pressure of the mouth, the sturdy meat burst forth with clear textures, pure freshness erupting from each fiber.

Hmm…

Closing its eyes, the Sky Dog Beast reopened them after the meat dissolved in its mouth.

Truly a blissful experience!

“Unfortunately, unfortunately.”

Jie Jie gazed regretfully at the pot made from eggshells, the pot size restricting his joy.

The accumulated “snow” in the pot had completely covered the water surface, leaving behind only a churning strip of meat and a bubbling hollow.

Fishing it out, eating it, smacking lips, followed by endless emptiness.

Happiness was too fleeting; he needed a bigger pot!

Jie Jie turned around, scanning the Water Dragon’s corpse for a suitable scale but found none that met his requirements.

A wave of despair surged in his heart. In his despondency, he picked up the eggshell and drank the fish soup.

The essence of Water Dragon meat infused within, bringing him brief happiness once again.

In self-abandonment, he transformed back into a Male Fire Dragon, sprawling on the Water Dragon’s corpse and indulging in the most primitive way of feeding.

After eating his fill, the Male Fire Dragon now lay limp on the Water Dragon’s body, lacking any semblance of the majesty of the Sky’s Dominant Lord, resembling a dead fish even more so than the actual deceased Water Dragon.

The baby dragons were also full; some took a nap in the lazy afternoon, while others chased after every rustle in the surroundings, releasing their boundless energy.

Looking at the baby dragons, Jie Jie rolled off the Water Dragon’s corpse, halfway transforming into a Sky Dog Beast to roll a few more times on the ground.

“Suck suck suck~”

The baby dragons all looked at him, including those who were sleeping.

Jie Jie blinked and scooped up the nearest Wooden Ladle, hugging it tightly, his claws caressing the little Fire Dragon’s body.

The texture of this shell felt great, almost as good as茂荣绒(Mao Rong Velvet).

He then neurotically lifted the baby dragon’s head, making its eyes meet his own.

It was rare to do this, but it seemed he had frightened it. It fluttered in his arms, calming down only after some soothing, quietly enjoying Jie Jie’s petting.

Jie Jie and the baby Fire Dragon’s eyes stared into each other, silently communicating through the windows of their souls.

The warmth of the Fang Beast kind transferred to the baby dragon’s shell, it buried its head, seemingly arching deeper.

This truly fosters feelings.

Jie Jie pulled the nearby Porcelain Bowl into his embrace next, followed by the Iron Pot and Basin, stroking and playing with each one in turn.

He felt like he had transcended, the sunlight hitting the proud crest of the Sky Dog Beast, which was remarkable even among Sky Dog Beasts, reflecting maternal brilliance on its smooth fur.

Time flowed unnoticed, until six deep sleeps had passed, and the two Water Dragons were left as skeletons.

The Water Dragon’s gemstone was also swallowed by Jie Jie during this period, unfortunately, it provided no effective enhancement to the forms of terrestrial and flying monsters.

The dominant force of this area had become a satisfying meal, and finally, he glanced at the Water Dragon leaping in the center of the lake:

“Next time, we’ll come again.”

Jie Jie packed his belongings and the four little ones, choosing to head northward into the forest near the lake.

The increasingly scorching summer wind dried the dampness, the vibrant colors on the baby dragon’s shells slightly sedimented, as if forged to be even more mature.

Along the way, he ate the last Fire Dragon egg and snatched meat from a Flying Thunder Dragon lady passing by…

Now arriving at the edge of the forest, they encountered the long-awaited forest thugs and gatekeepers.

The large-striding Savage Jaw Dragon was fierce but chose the wrong direction for its charge.

The Sky Dog Beast braved the wind rushing toward him, his physique swelling as he rose from the ground, transforming into a Savage Jaw Dragon form to meet the challenge.

The baby dragons dodged between the Savage Jaw Dragon’s claws and fled into the forest.

The beast kinds collided with the most terrifying brute force, the forest thug intercepted by an even greater violence.

Without the chance to destroy more trees in this encounter, the young Savage Jaw Dragon was knocked down in a single exchange, trampled under Jie Jie’s claws.

A heat wave swept past his cheeks, prompting him to close his eyes, twisting his body in an attempt to escape.

“Hoar!”

But Jie Jie merely let out a deafening roar, the saliva of a strong one splashing onto its face.

Releasing the claw that was stepping on it, he watched it flee in disarray.

This was a young and vigorous Savage Jaw Dragon, Jie Jie was not a villain who wanted to kill every dragon he saw just to try it.

This nature always needs the vitality of young dragons. He, an alien soul embracing this nature, was honored enough to drive it away.

The Savage Jaw (Jie) Dragon’s body shimmered with the radiance of a powerful one.

Turning his head, he looked at the baby dragons peeking from behind the ancient giant tree, wagging his tail to lift the luggage, beckoning them to follow.

Jie Jie also noticed the bird’s nest that fell due to the Savage Jaw Dragon breaking the tree, and the Peach Source Bird that fled to the tree upon seeing him.

Transforming into a Sky Dog Beast to intercept the baby dragons, he touched the cute young Peach Source Birds in the nest, climbing the tree to place the nest down, then continued forward.

Why isn’t such interference part of nature? Cruel hunting is, and so is compassionate rescue.

Nature has immense inclusiveness for the creatures beneath it, and Jie Jie subjectively never lost control.

Deep within the vast primeval forest, the traces left by the Savage Jaw Dragon gradually faded, mixing with the marks of some quadrupedal Large Monsters, the chaotic scene illuminated by the green glow of Guide Insects.

There were many quadrupedal Large Monsters, not just one.

The Guide Insects lit up the scattered silver-white fur on the ground, suddenly dancing wildly, turning red.

The Sky Dog Beast raised his head, a handsome quadruped Fang Dragon walking between the giant trees, occasionally snorting, its fur trembling with flashes of lightning.

And it saw him too.
