Chapter 51: Mother Dragon? Take a Bite?
The Green Swift Dragon was indeed fast, its adrenaline surging upon sensing the overwhelming high temperature as it swiftly stabilized its body.
Once again launching itself into the air, it narrowly escaped the range of the fiery pillar, avoiding the fate of its scales melting alongside its muscle tissues.
There was no time for the Green Swift Dragon to mourn the widespread loss of its beautiful fur. Its claws clutched onto the neck of the Savage Jaw Dragon.
The momentum from the pounce had diminished, and the burning pain all over its body caused the Swift Dragon to take a moment to catch its breath after escaping the fiery column. Mounting Jie Jie would have to wait until the next round.
It was tough fighting a flexible opponent like the Savage Jaw Dragon. Jie Jie twisted his head and spun his body, dodging the tail attack from the Green Swift Dragon. At the same time, he slammed his body against a nearby tree.
The distraction with the tail attack made the Green Swift Dragon’s attempt to climb onto Jie Jie’s back half a beat too slow, allowing the Savage Jaw Dragon to directly crash it into the tree.
“Roar!”
The Green Swift Dragon let out an intense howl as it slid down from the Savage Jaw Dragon’s body, then bit onto its body as a countermeasure, only to find itself in a precarious situation.
Though agile, the Savage Jaw Dragon’s physical attributes far surpassed those of the Swift Dragon. He didn’t need much rest.
The tree snapped under the impact, falling to the ground. Jie Jie endured the pain, using the momentum to fall along with the tree, pinning the panting Green Swift Dragon beneath him.
Not yet finished, the Savage Jaw Dragon moved like a tide, instantly getting up. As he rose, he twisted his head and immediately bit down on the Swift Dragon’s foreleg.
With the Savage Jaw Dragon lifting it up, the Swift Dragon’s series of “meow meow” punches hung futilely in the air, unable to reach Jie Jie’s face.
After completing this series of actions, Jie Jie took a slight breather while biting onto the Swift Dragon’s claw.
With a bite, there wasn’t much of an issue.
In the new round, the Swift Dragon could only wildly twist its body, its spiky tail continuously lashing at the Savage Jaw Dragon. Darts with energy-draining effects pierced into the Savage Jaw Dragon’s body.
Fatigue set in where the darts had struck.
The Swift Dragon’s spiky tail darts had an energy-draining effect, which accelerated the consumption of stamina and endurance, quickly leading the monster into a state of fatigue.
But that wasn’t much of a problem. With good constitution, fatigue wouldn’t accumulate to the point where it couldn’t continue fighting. Jie Jie swung the Swift Dragon around and slammed it onto the ground.
For a moment, the Green Swift Dragon’s body paused. Broken branches and stones pierced into the melted scales, causing intense pain.
The pain spurred it to use its back to push against the ground, straining with the one claw not bitten down on to continue its “meow meow” punches.
Before the claw could firmly grip Jie Jie’s face, it was lifted again and smashed onto the ground.
This time, Jie Jie clenched his jaws tightly, dragging the Green Swift Dragon around, the flammable mucus secreted from his nasal cavity sticking onto the Swift Dragon’s body.
Isn’t the Swift Dragon much more fragrant than the Herbivore Dragon? If you’re going to be in the game, you’d better be prepared to be eaten!
Blood splattered as the Swift Dragon, having lost one arm, struggled on the ground, its tail wildly thrashing about, sending darts flying everywhere.
Dodging the denser darts, Jie Jie simply endured the single ones, even pulling them out with his small hands near his chest.
Before the fatigue accumulated too much in his body, Jie Jie spat out the broken claw in his mouth, and a towering pillar of fire engulfed the Swift Dragon’s body.
Even large monsters might withstand a fleeting flame, but staying in the fire just a little longer would soften their shells due to the accumulating heat.
The Swift Dragon lacked a shell, and its body was coated with the flammable mucus from the Savage Jaw Dragon, transforming it into a blazing torch.
When the Swift Dragon ceased struggling, Jie Jie panted heavily in place, watching the still-burning torch. Before his body fully recovered, he directly transformed into a Fire Dragon.
Compared to the explosive power that beast dragons pride themselves on but easily deplete, the Fire Dragon’s abundant vitality and enduring stamina better resisted the energy-draining effects of the Green Swift Dragon.
At the same time, he flapped his wings, creating wind pressure that extinguished the flames on the Green Swift Dragon’s body.
Fire Dragons may enjoy roasting their prey before eating, but that doesn’t mean they can survive on dry charcoal alone.
Jie Jie took a deep breath, focusing on the energy-draining effects of the Green Swift Dragon. Monsters develop resistance after experiencing abnormal effects, but could such resistance become more adaptable in prolonged battles to generate even more resistance?
He was trying to make his body remember this sensation, hoping to increase some immunity during the next encounter.
Realizing the danger had passed, the young dragons returned, jumping onto the Swift Dragon’s corpse and calling out to their kin.
He understood their curiosity about why this hunt took so long.
“Roar!”
Jie Jie responded, gently tapping the young dragons’ heads with the tips of his wings as they ate together.
During this time, he also dragged back the two abandoned Herbivore Dragons, placing them near the Green Swift Dragon’s corpse.
The taste of Green Swift Dragon meat was similar to that of the Swift Dragon, but slightly chewier, possibly due to its superior aggression and flexibility.
After finishing the Green Swift Dragon, today seemed to bring two untried forms of large monsters.
Wings folded, Jie Jie transformed from a Fire Dragon into a Green Swift Dragon. The young dragons, seeing the monster that had just tried to eat them reappear, retreated cautiously.
But merely retreating, Iron Pot straightened up, relaxing and continuing to tear at the Swift Dragon meat.
Hunting activities helped strengthen their bite force. It would take some time, but they could eventually rip off pieces of meat.
Seeing this, Jie Jie stopped feeding them, believing that biting and tearing would help them train.
With a thought, the hair on the Green Swift Dragon’s body turned black from the roots.
He transformed back into a Swift Dragon from the Green Swift Dragon, changing forms much faster than between other species, taking about half a second previously.
If it were the first time, it would take longer, but the transformation between the Green Swift Dragon and Swift Dragon was almost instantaneous.
In terms of physique, the specialties of the Green Swift Dragon seemed to have merged with the Swift Dragon. That is, his current Swift Dragon and Green Swift Dragon forms had consistent size and various attributes, differing only in camouflage. Perhaps the Green Swift Dragon adapted better to humid environments.
Would sub-species and original species of other monsters also be like this?
Jie Jie didn’t know yet, but he knew there was a significant difference between Male Fire Dragons and Female Fire Dragons.
Yeah, a huge physiological gap between genders.
The Swift Dragon soared toward the lake. In the air, its shiny fur became wider and tougher, covering its skin. Its neck elongated once more, and its beak-structured dragon head transformed into a fish head.
The Water Dragon plunged heavily into the lake, splashing massive waves, with a series of bubbles continuously churning at the impact point.
Jie Jie was sinking in the lake, gradually adapting to the form of the Water Dragon.
Unlike the Lamp Fish Dragon, which adapted to underwater movement by moving along the riverbed, the Water Dragon embraced the lake immediately.
Keen hearing replaced vision, and the large fins, flippers, and tail naturally swayed with the water currents.
Jie Jie gently twisted his body, beginning to control and guide the water currents.
“Wing flap!”
In the water, the Water Dragon moved as freely as the Fire Dragon did in the sky.
He broke through the water surface and leaped up.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
