The next day arrived.
I woke up at roughly the same time as yesterday.
The sun was high in the sky, but it wasn’t unreasonably late either—just an ambiguous hour.
“Hmm.”
Was my mother out? I found myself all alone in this big, vast house.
Being alone…
I’m not used to this loneliness after having such a bustling life recently.
‘It wasn’t always like this.’
In my earlier days, I had plenty of time alone.
I would always gaze out the window and later shift my attention to the monitor.
‘What useless thoughts.’
Shaking off my distractions, I settled for a simple breakfast of cereal.
My mother would have had something to say about it, but there was no one around to scold me now.
‘If not now, when?’
After all, it’s usually the unhealthy stuff that tastes good.
I’m not sure if cereal is that bad for you, though.
Finishing my quick breakfast, I made my way to the computer.
It wasn’t that I had anything special to do… it had just become a habit.
‘Should I play some Solo Queue today?’
After all, there’s still a lot of time before the final match of the promotional tournament starts.
I didn’t want to waste time like I did yesterday, so I decided to play some Solo Queue.
‘As for broadcasting… let’s skip that.’
Usually, I’d stream while playing Solo Queue during the season.
There simply wasn’t enough time to broadcast, so I felt like I was just making up hours whenever I did.
But that also meant it was hard to fully concentrate on Solo Queue.
The fact that my 99% win rate had slowly dropped was kind of sad.
‘I never thought I’d win forever, but… whatever.’
Anyway, winning and losing is just part of a game like Legends of League.
Lately, I had just been winning too much, which made me forget that natural element for a moment.
[Logging in]
Even though I log into the Legends of League client every day, it strangely felt a bit unfamiliar.
‘Guess I just need to hit start.’
Position-wise, I had no special preference.
If I leave it like this, there’s a good chance I’ll get jungle.
[Searching for a game.]
To be honest, this wasn’t exactly prime time for finding games.
To be precise, that’s true in my rank range.
‘Speaking of which, isn’t it about time the Red Cup teams head out?’
Did they already?
I’m not sure since I haven’t checked.
[Game found!]
[Accept / Decline]
After about ten minutes of waiting, I finally got a queue.
It was such a precious queue that I instantly hit accept.

The game was on.
Some of the usernames were familiar to me.
Professional gamers who didn’t make it to the Red Cup.
Normally, this would feel like a vacation, but that didn’t mean we had to stop playing.
‘The positions might be a bit jumbled?’
Two junglers, two ADCs.
Still, it seemed like a match that was definitely playable.
Our side was red.
Meaning we were the last pick.
The ban/pick phase went smoothly, focusing on the latest picks.
And…
Finally, the ban/pick phase was completed.
+
[Allies / Enemies]
Top: Jason / Fiora
Jungle: Hecarim / Lee Sin
Mid: Orianna / Raze
ADC: Caitlyn / Kai’Sa
Support: Karuma / Nautilus
+
One recent change in the Solo Queue version was that Kai’Sa, who had been quiet for a while, was starting to show her face again.
Well, it’s good to see a variety of picks, so there’s nothing wrong with it.
-Welcome to Summoner’s Rift!
The game officially began.
The loud chat in the chatbox,
The voices of teammates ringing in my ears,
It felt like ages since I played a game void of any of those elements.
A strangely calming sensation washed over me.
Since it had been so long since I felt that way, I was able to pour my full concentration into the game.
[⨷] [⨷] [⨷]
A series of pings.
They were pings from me.
“Let’s go.”
Of course, it was a habit to talk like that, even if it sounded like I was talking to myself since I usually communicated with teammates or viewers.
We headed towards the bottom lane bush.
Given our team composition, it wasn’t ideal for an invade, but we still wanted to put some pressure on them.
The best offense is a good defense.
There’s no better time for that than during an invade.
After what felt like a long wait,
Their bottom duo slowly appeared.
They didn’t expect us to invade in this bush, whether they were overconfident or careless.
Whatever it was, it was a great opportunity for us.
-First Blood!
-Enemy eliminated!
Just like that, we devoured the unsuspecting Nautilus.
I was a bit bummed we didn’t catch Kai’Sa, but it wasn’t bad since we forced her Flash.
We achieved early success in the bottom lane, but given the time, we couldn’t immediately seize their red jungle.
It was simply that Jason, who got the kill, was in high spirits.
After successfully invading early, I headed straight for our Blue.
We had some shaky vision around our red side, so I decided to start at blue.
Even though I didn’t know the enemy jungle’s location, I wasn’t too worried.
Once the laning phase started, the enemy laners would reveal themselves.
Starting with a smooth path in the jungle, I played somewhat recklessly.
I put heavy gank pressure on the enemy laners from the start.
However, whether it was due to nerves or some other reason, they kept falling prey to my ganks.
-Enemy eliminated!
-On a killing spree!
Soon enough, the game exploded early on.
The opposing team lost their will to fight and essentially half-opened towards defeat.
[Victory]
It was an absurdly easy game, but winning this Solo Queue match after such a long time felt very sweet.
*
I only played one game of Solo Queue.
I hadn’t been up for long, and with the promotional tournament final about to begin, it felt like an awkward time.
I considered hosting the promotional tournament stream for a moment but quickly shook my head.
I just wanted to quietly observe as an ordinary fan of the league today.
‘Probably about to start soon.’
I logged onto Red TV.
I wasn’t intending to broadcast; it was just that watching the Red TV stream had become so familiar to me.
『“Finally, the day has arrived. How long has everyone been waiting for this?”』
『“That’s right. GBP vs. BLH, and here they are in the finals!”』
『“For GBP, it’s definitely… going to be tough, but they’ve got to give it their all today.”』
『“Absolutely. And BLH definitely can’t miss this opportunity, right? Though they’re considered underdogs in terms of strength, they need to capitalize on this chance after that last OLZ match where GBP’s momentum took a hit!”』
When OLZ’s name came up in the commentators’ chatter, I couldn’t help but flinch.
If the broadcast were live right now, the chat would be flooded with things like <<<<<.
And...
The match began.
I focused on the game.
Set 1, Set 2, Set 3…
And before I knew it, it extended to Set 4 and even Set 5.
The result was a nail-biting victory for GBP.
In the final match, GBP narrowly defeated BLH with a score of 3:2.
It was a truly intense showdown.
『“BLH! It's unfortunate, but there's nothing to be done. It won’t be the last chance.”』
『“Right. Who would have thought BLH would push GBP this far? They may have fallen short this time, but they need to aim for the next chance!”』
『“And GBP, despite the anxieties stemming from the OLZ match, ultimately showed their prowess today as the established team of LCKR. Perhaps we should brush off the OLZ match as an outlier?”』
『“Exactly, the opponent was just too strong. I think that's the general consensus.”』
『“Haha! That's right.”`
The promotional tournament final came to an end.
With only the player interviews remaining, I turned off the broadcast.
'Hmm, what should I do now?'
Should I grab something to eat?
I had gotten so caught up in the games that I lost track of meal times.
Ding—
Just as I was pondering, I received a sudden notification.
It was my younger sister.
[Yuri: Hey, Unnie]
The title felt a bit off-putting, but I figured I couldn’t avoid it forever, so I didn’t bother to say anything.
What mattered was the reason behind the message.
It was rare for her to message me first like this.
[Me: Why?]
[Yuri: My friends want to see you just once. Can you come out now?]
An intense invitation for an introverted homebody had come in.
