I took the receiver that Elena handed me.
“Mr. Felini.”
“Yes, that’s me.”
Hagen’s voice was the same. I remembered it clearly from the last time we met in person.
“So, what kind of request do you have this time that you went out of your way to call me?”
“You’re quick on the uptake as always. But actually, it’s not my request… I’m passing along a request from someone else.”
A request from someone else?
“Do you remember Bishop Smith?”
“Yes, I remember. He’s the bishop I met before you, isn’t he?”
“That’s right. I’m impressed you remember.”
“I can’t forget someone like that.”
I had come to meet the Financial King, and there he was, a high-ranking clergy standing right in front of me.
“Have you heard about the Nun Robber Gang that pretends to be nuns and goes on a rampage?”
“I don’t know the details well enough to say I know a lot, but I’ve heard something about them.”
“Naturally, their activities are tarnishing the reputation of the clergy in this city.”
“….”
I had an inkling that I knew why Hagen was calling me.
He must want me to handle that Nun Robber Gang on behalf of Bishop Smith and Hebili’s religious order.
“Isn’t the area where they mainly operate in the city center?”
“That’s correct. I think it wouldn’t be a bad thing for you either. Now that the city center belongs to you, it wouldn’t benefit anyone to have such problems.”
“Dealing with a gang shouldn’t be too difficult. However….”
“Is there a problem?”
“No, it’s not that. I’m just curious what Bishop Smith could do for us in return if we help him with this issue.”
“Don’t worry about that. Do you know why I’m working with Bishop Smith?”
“Well, I really can’t guess.”
He must be someone who has succumbed to the Financial King’s money, or maybe their interests just align.
“Not everyone can be moved by money, you know. From that perspective, Bishop Smith is a suitable candidate.”
From the way Hagen was speaking, it seemed like he leaned towards the former.
“Alright. But it’s not something I can decide unilaterally.”
“Of course. We’ll need Mrs. Felini’s approval.”
Saying that, Hagen proposed another sponsorship to us, of course assuming we helped him with Bishop Smith’s worries.
“Sounds good. I’ll get in touch later.”
I hung up first, wondering if that was okay, but decided not to think too deeply about it.
Hagen probably didn’t expect such things from me anyway.
“Elena, it looks like Hagen received a request from the city bishop.”
“Bishop? You mean Archbishop Hebili?”
“No, not the archbishop, just the bishop. His name is Smith.”
“Oh, I’ve heard of him. He’s one of the assistant bishops.”
I wasn’t sure about Bishop Smith’s exact status, but thankfully Elena seemed to know.
If he were religiously connected, he would belong to the Hebili Archdiocese. If a diocese is headed by a bishop, an archdiocese is headed by an archbishop.
Of course, I thought there are cases where a cardinal leads an archdiocese, but overthinking it wasn’t going to help.
“So what does that assistant bishop want from us?”
“It’s related to those guys I heard about on the radio earlier.”
“Huh?”
“The Nun Robber Gang. Those weirdos who pretend to be nuns and commit robberies.”
“Ah.”
If I heard correctly, they had injured or killed 27 people.
That’s not a bad deed even for the mafia, but given that they’re just a gang, it meant they were fairly formidable.
“It’s been a while since I received a request from the clergy.”
“Yeah, it has. The last time was during my father’s era.”
That wasn’t exactly a pleasant memory.
One of the high-ranking clergy came to my father to cover up his own misconduct, and my father willingly helped him since there were plenty of things we could gain from his authority.
But that misconduct was… preventing the scandal of an officer from the Imperial Guard.
That’s right. The high-ranking clergy was engaging in a homosexual relationship. They used to meet secretly through a hidden passage.
“At least this request is much more reasonable than back then.”
“And Hagen said that if we help Bishop Smith, he would offer another sponsorship.”
“Oh?”
It seemed that Bishop Smith was more important to Hagen than we initially thought.
“Alright then, I can’t ignore that.”
After hearing Elena’s response, I confirmed with her one more time before passing it on to Hagen.
“Are you sure this is okay? The districts in the city center aren’t fully organized yet.”
“It’s fine. We can organize it at the same time.”
The Felini Family’s territory in the city center is divided into five main areas.
One is Elena’s area, located relatively in the east, and in the northwest is Vanella, while to the southwest is Lumini’s area.
Aside from Lumini’s district, in the south, there are two other districts: to the southwest is Granada’s area, taken from the Russo Family, and to the southeast is Armo’s area.
In other words, that infamous Nun Robber Gang would have to face Elena, the Wolves under her command, as well as Armo, Vanella, Lumini, Granada, and their subordinates.
“Alright. I’ll contact Hagen right away.”
When I called Hagen again, he expressed surprise at how quickly I was getting back to him.
I shared the boss’s clear intention from the Felini Family, and Hagen ended the call satisfactorily.
“Elena, I’m going to go to the room next door for now.”
“What? You’re leaving so soon? Anyway, Felicita isn’t here.”
Elena finally referred to Felicita by her name instead of “that woman.” Of course, more importantly, she approached me in a bathrobe.
She pulled me in close, both of us dressed in bathrobes, and pointed at our hair.
“We look completely like real siblings with our hair color matching, don’t we?”
“We never really cared about that.”
“Well, then I can start caring. At least I will.”
A sister and a wife. It would probably make others react, wondering what kind of nonsense that was. Of course, we were step-siblings, but still.
“So, just stay a bit longer. Or… do you want more?”
With her porcelain-white skin, alluring lips, and healthily concealed breast peeking from the bathrobe, she had a striking figure.
And the sultry legs that extended from her hips to her thighs.
“….”
She was definitely a virgin just until yesterday…
As much as she was my sister, having her tempt me right in front of me made it hard to resist.
So, in the blink of an eye, I enjoyed passionately with Elena several times again. Well, this time I finished before I completely wore out, though.
“Elena, I need to go now.”
“Why are you in such a hurry to go to that woman’s room?”
“She has creatures she takes care of. You absolutely hate them.”
“…Those disgusting moths?”
“Heb is one of them.”
Since Felicita wasn’t around, I had to take care of their food.
*
Elena seemed to understand my reasoning to some extent.
“You can see them again tomorrow anyway.”
Of course, I didn’t stop there. I whispered something in Elena’s ear and kissed her.
“….”
Elena watched me leave with a very satisfied look on her face.
Meanwhile, as soon as I arrived at Felicita’s Room, a giant silk moth flew towards me.
“Screeech!”
“Heb, you little brat.”
I quickly grabbed Heb and offered him what he wanted.
I had memorized where Felicita kept the moth’s food, so it wasn’t hard at all.
I put just the right amount of food on a plate for him and set it down on the floor.
“….”
Then, unusually quiet, Heb hurriedly went for the plate.
If Heb was acting like that, I didn’t need to worry about the others.
Felicita didn’t have many animals in her room. At least not compared to those she kept at the Dragon Hill Hotel.
Though I had seen them from the side for a while, I still couldn’t tell if I was doing it right or not.
Well, in any case, after a bit of effort, I was just one last animal away from feeding.
“Oh, thank you! Thank you!”
A Tokotukan that could actually speak like a person. The very same bird often called the talking bird.
“Thanks to you, I’m saved. Thank you, little wolf of our lady!”
“Just eat already.”
As soon as I placed the bowl of food inside the cage, the bird began chattering nonstop.
The talking Tokotukan had an odd green coloring. The Tokotukan from my world usually had a slightly white face, while the rest of their body was completely black.
“Did you know?”
“Just eat your food.”
The bird kept talking to me even after I fed him.
“Today is the day I died.”
“What?”
“The me who never cared about whom the lady met has died, and I’ve been reborn to support you and our lady more than anyone else. From today, I’ll also be your supporter!”
“Thanks, but just eat.”
Finally, he buried his head into the full plate of food and stopped talking.
In the room, sounds of various unusual pets munching filled the air.
Suddenly, someone opened the door and walked in. …I was sure I hadn’t heard the sound of an elevator.
‘Did I miss it?’
Maybe I was too focused on feeding these critters to hear it.
“…Elena? Why are you here?”
“I just wanted to see you. Plus, Felicita isn’t back yet.”
“That’s true.”
“…But it always looks so disgusting.”
Elena took a step back from Heb, who was quietly eating, but still moved closer to me.
“Here you are! You damn muscular woman!”
Out of nowhere, the Tokotukan started throwing insults at Elena.
“…What?”
“Elena, just ignore him. He doesn’t know anything.”
“You damn freak! Get away from the lady’s little wolf! Back off now!”
“….”
Thanks to the Tokotukan’s words, I was getting a clear idea of what Felicita typically thought of us.
I was the lady’s little wolf, while Elena was the ‘damn muscular woman.’
Elena marched towards the bird. The Tokotukan probably realized its mistake now and was quiet, but… it was already too late.
What the hell kind of bird is this?
“Luke, step aside.”
“Elena, wait a sec.”
I hurriedly stepped between Elena and the Tokotukan’s cage. I thought Elena wouldn’t take her anger out on a creature like that.
Thank goodness. In that tense moment, I heard the elevator ding.
“….”
Before long, footsteps echoed as someone entered the room.
“What’s going on? What are you two doing here?”
The owner of the room, Felicita, had returned.
“Lady! This crazy woman is trying to kill me! She’s trying to kill me!”
Seizing the opportunity, the damn Tokotukan started shouting again.
“…What?”
Upon hearing that, Felicita seemed so taken aback that she wore a ridiculous expression.
