Make Our Family Great Again – Chapter 52

Before Eccelotti’s execution, I intended to visit the Union Office of the Academy.

As I made my way to the Academy, two caporegimes from downtown, Richard Vanella and Vincent Lumini, were already on the move.

The first to act was Vanella.

“Alright, boys, let’s get to work.”

After the boss gave the order, Vanella’s men began rummaging through the southern part of their territory like they were on a rat hunt.

“What should we do if we catch those girls? Do we need to take them alive?”

“No, the lady said there’s no need for that. Just take care of them.”

“So, we just kill them, right?”

“Uh… wouldn’t that be a waste?”

“What?”

“Hey, let’s handle this properly this time, without any weird ideas.”

When Vanella left some ambiguous space, his second-in-command quickly chimed in. True to being a rare human mafia in the city, Vanella’s right-hand man was also human.

His name was Hugh Dance.

Unlike Vanella, who went by the name Ricardo Vanella instead of his real name Richard, Dance stuck to a thoroughly human name.

“No, this time it’s a different situation. And when have we ever messed things up?”

Vanella was quite grateful to Lumini for missing the Nun Robber Gang.

With a new territory in downtown, he was already overwhelmed with several matters to manage. While Vanella’s stronghold still served as a decent junkyard for the area, things could have been more comfortable.

Anyway, thanks to Lumini, they would have some fun with it.

“First, let’s split the guys into two. Half will scour the south completely, while the other half will guard the southern borders to ensure those bastards can’t escape.”

“Oh, we won’t need to worry about the lady’s side. Her men are taking care of that.”

“Then we just need to focus on the northwest; no need to care about the east.”

“The south should be fine since Lumini’s men will be coming from that direction.”

“I don’t trust those bastards.”

Dance didn’t trust Lumini and his men, but it wasn’t completely unfounded, given they had once let the robber gang slip away.

“Let’s not get too worked up. Just block the north and west for now. We’ll send the guys heading east and south to find those bastards.”

“Well, it’s just about capturing them before they run away.”

Dance didn’t question Vanella’s decision any further.

And so, with all of Ricardo Vanella’s men and associates mobilized, the search for the robber gang began.

The family’s boss, Elena Felini, anticipated the robber gang would be hiding in the southern part of Vanella’s territory, based on the direction they fled from Lumini’s area.

Vanella agreed with the boss’s assessment.

If that weren’t the case, he wouldn’t have unleashed such a large force.

Vanella’s southern territory could hardly remain calm in the face of the sudden appearance of uninvited guests.

Not all mafia from Hebili looked the same, but Vanella’s men were dressed like typical mafias.

Fedoras, suits, trench coats, cigarettes.

They even carried guns and knives, making their movements awkward – just perfect for the image. Occasionally, some loosening their collars or having long hair, or men who enjoyed cheap colognes were among them.

The citizens of this city were much more educated about the mafia than the mafias assumed.

Unaware of such facts, Vanella and Dance were directing and receiving reports on all that was happening in the southern area from their junkyard stronghold.

“Boss, we have a witness who saw the girls.”

“Oh? Where?”

“They’re near the Blue Angel Hotel.”

“…What? Were they staying at a hotel?”

“Oh, actually, it’s a boarding house close to the hotel.”

Just like the saying about the darkness under the lamp.

“Alright, then let’s surround that hotel and the boarding house first. But be discreet about it.”

“Understood.”

Under Dance’s orders, Vanella’s men sprang into action. As Dance was observing, he caught sight of Vanella getting into a car with his men.

“What?! Where are you going?”

“Where do you think? I’m going myself.”

Dance thought it was entirely unnecessary, but it was already too late.

Vanella wasn’t going to be stopped just because Dance tried.

Moments later, the area around the Blue Angel Hotel and the nearby boarding house began filling up with people. Even though Dance had specifically told them to remain discreet, that wasn’t being followed at all.

“Boss, it seems like we have too many people. Should we pull back a bit?”

“No, it’s fine. If it’s this many, they must have already noticed us.”

Vanella decided not to overthink it.

“Send only a few along. Not the entire crew.”

Unlike Dance, the men tried to dissuade their boss. But it was futile.

And so, Vanella and his men headed toward the boarding house, where the robber gang was supposedly hiding.

“….”

As soon as they entered the boarding house, an unnatural atmosphere enveloped them.

The receptionist at the counter looked extremely tense, and young women were scattered throughout the boarding house.

Clearly, since they were dressed like nuns, there was no possibility they were men. If any men were disguising as nuns, thoughts of immediate execution for blasphemy crossed their minds.

“Hey, we need to talk to the guests staying here.”

“….”

“Hey, when someone talks, you should respond!”

As the staff remained silent, one of Vanella’s men interjected.

“Yes or no, just say that.”

“…Wait a moment. Then I’ll die.”

Despite Vanella’s words, the staff didn’t give a straightforward yes or no. One of Vanella’s men was about to flex his skills.

But before he could, Vanella grabbed the receptionist’s chin.

“If you don’t talk, you’ll die. Choose wisely.”

Vanella’s underlings were always ready to draw their guns. The thugs nearby were highly likely the very robber gang they were after.

The women’s gazes were definitely on Vanella and his men.

“…Let’s stop this farce here?”

“What?”

Vanella turned toward the voice he heard.

“Aren’t we here because we have business with you? So let’s stop bothering that poor thing.”

…The Nun Robber Gang, they said.

The robber gang’s female leader was nothing close to a nun.

She seemed to tower over Vanella by a head, and considering Vanella was not short, she was quite tall.

“….”

Vanella slowly examined her appearance. She appeared human at first glance, but with her strangely green skin and slightly visible fangs, she was undoubtedly a hybrid.

As for what she was mixed with? Probably Orc or Wolfkin, maybe – something along those lines.

“You guys are the famous Nun Robber Gang lately?”

“Yeah.”

“Good, then let’s have a chat.”

“What?”

Vanella recommended the members of the robber gang around them to step back.

While the gang members reacted negatively to Vanella’s suggestion while keeping watch, the leader accepted it without hesitation.

Clearly, she didn’t see Vanella as any threat whatsoever. And so, they headed toward a suitable room.

They entered the room but didn’t sit down.

“You know you are currently in Wolf territory, right?”

“Yeah, we know. But what’s that to us? We haven’t bothered you at all.”

“….”

Vanella began to worry about how to explain this complicated situation. Initially, he had thought of simply taking care of those pretending to be nuns.

“Some folks really dislike those pretending to be nuns.”

“What? Now you’re saying you wipe their behinds or something? You guys have really sunk low.”

“….”

“And remember this, you foolish bastard. We’re not pretending to be nuns; we were nuns.”

This was unexpected.

Vanella had clearly heard from the boss that they were just people pretending to be nuns.

If real nuns had turned into a robber gang, there had to be some reason behind it, and it probably involved those who had been tasked with taking care of this gang.

But right now, something more important needed attention.

“Real nuns, huh?”

“I said we were nuns.”

She was annoyed to have to repeat herself.

Vanella finished confirming that and proceeded with what he had intended to do.

While Vanella dealt with the Nun Robber Gang, I stopped by the Union Office of the Academy and then headed towards Greenbug.

I passed by the Lupus Carlton Hotel, where I had two wives, but I didn’t get distracted and went straight to Greenbug.

I arrived at the designated spot for my armored vehicle and several escort vehicles to gather.

“Boss, please wait a moment.”

“Sure.”

The driver didn’t stop the car; instead, he made a turn to face the back of the armored vehicle towards Zakaya and Eccelotti.

As soon as I got out, the driver and another wolf in the passenger seat shifted to the back seat to begin preparing something.

“Money Felini!”

“….”

On one side were Eccelotti and his men, while on the opposite stood Zakaya and the Gollymen, all lined up.

Eccelotti addressed me with a respectful title, forgetting all the things he had done before. Meanwhile, Zakaya quietly held his ground.

“Right, you both must’ve heard from Elena, right?”

“Yes, of course.”

“Yeah.”

Before I knew it, Eccelotti was already upon me, looking down at me. Although the height difference forced it, it irritated me greatly.

“….”

Just before taking my final action, I conducted one last check.

Things seemed ready with the armored vehicle, and the guys who got out from the escort vehicles were in their positions. The wolves that came with me toward the two caporegimes were likewise.

“Eccelotti, I’ve got something to say to you.”

“Yes?”

Eccelotti was clearly looking forward to my speech.

But before I could say a word, I swiftly kicked the knee below him, knocking him down. I executed it with minimal movements, wasting no time.

“…Cough!”

Eccelotti managed to speak only after everything had transpired.

At that very moment,

The machine gun set up in the backseat of my armored vehicle opened fire.

Immediately, flames erupted around it, and bullets flew towards Eccelotti’s men at an astonishing speed, mercilessly tearing through their bodies.

The mafia present at the scene didn’t have time to react to the sudden turn of events. They just staggered and collapsed.

Those missed by the machine gun soon became prey for other wolves.

“Don, Don Felini! What the hell…”

“Elena must have warned you. She told you not to cause trouble.”

“Hold on, wait! There’s been a misunderstanding…”

I grabbed Eccelotti’s chin with one hand and shot him in the face with the gun I held in the other.

Given the proximity, it was only natural for blood to splatter onto my face and clothes.

Although Eccelotti didn’t die instantly from being shot in the face, he trembled, and that was about all. The wolves near me shot a few more bullets into the back of his head and his abdomen.

Eccelotti’s execution ended right there.

“Take care of the rest right away.”

“Yes, Boss.”

My wolves didn’t stop there. They moved to handle the Eccelotti’s men who weren’t present at this site.

However, I instructed them to only deal with those resisting. There was no need to kill those who surrendered.

“Zakaya. Over here.”

“….”

Samia Zakaya seemed quite shocked at the chaos unfolding before him. So it seemed he had a delayed response to my call.

“Zakaya!”

“Yes, yes!”

He appeared completely terrified, frozen in fear.

“This is Elena’s decision.”

“Am… am I okay with this?”

“Yeah, since the problem all began with Eccelotti. Your defense will be deemed justifiable self-defense.”

I also conveyed to Zakaya the decisions made by Elena.

Eccelotti’s territory would become Zakaya’s, but there was one condition attached.

He needed to draw in more Gollymen into Greenbug. It was essential to fill the gap left by the execution of Eccelotti and his forces. Zakaya had to have the capacity to handle this.

“Do you think you can manage that?”

“Yes.”

Zakaya’s response was all-encompassing. I had no further questions, so I left the scene.

Instead of heading to the Academy, I directed myself towards Eccelotti’s territory. I needed to verify that the other wolves were handling matters properly.

*

Meanwhile, in downtown, Lumini, who had moved a step behind Vanella, arrived at the scene.

“What’s going on? Why are we just guarding the area?”

“Our boss went inside.”

“….”

Lumini and his men joined Vanella’s men, who were surrounding the hotel and the nearby boarding house.

Eventually, Lumini confirmed that Vanella had entered the building where the robber gang was.

“Vanella!”

Lumini and his men stormed into the boarding house.

“Grab all those girls!”

With their entrance, the subtle standoff between Vanella’s men and the Nun Robber Gang came to an end. The thugs from both cardinals began overpowering the gang members.

Lumini headed toward the room where Vanella had gone with the gang’s leader.

“….”

Strange noises could be heard from inside.

With a sense of foreboding, he knocked on the door but received no response.

“Boss, is this…?”

Before Lumini’s men could say anything, he kicked the door down. After several attempts, the door finally gave way.

The sight that entered Lumini’s eyes as he stepped into the room was…

Vanella engaged in a passionate encounter with a large woman dressed as a nun.

“….”

Lumini was rendered speechless by the scene and stepped back out to gaze over the chaotic boarding house.

He couldn’t help but wonder what the hell he was doing there.
