Chapter 44

I returned to my room and pressed my ear against the wall.

However, I couldn’t hear anything, so I quietly exited the room and cautiously approached my brother’s room without making any noise.

Then, I pressed my ear against the door.

“This magic will become this formula. Be careful, it’s similar to this one.”

“It’s the same.”

“It’s slightly different.”

They’re really studying…

My brother?

The one who used to complain about hating studying so much that just looking at words gave him a headache is studying on his day off…

Moreover, the next head of the famous high-handed Iver is teaching a boy…

And I found out he’s from La Folle…

I quietly stepped away from the door and went down the stairs.

At the bottom of the stairs, I met my mother’s gaze as she peeked in.

She beckoned me silently, so I quietly descended and headed to the living room with her.

“Toko, have you met your brother’s friend?”

Once we entered the living room, my mother asked immediately.

“I met them and talked to them.”

“Is it really Charlene Iver? The next head of the Iver family?”

So my mother met her too…

“Yeah. The student council president…”

Upon hearing my answer, my mother sat down at the table, looking dejected.

“Is it really bad?”

“It can’t be good… Does Tsukasa know about Iver?”

“He does. But he seems uninterested…”

In fact, he said he was uninterested.

“Sigh… So he’s being tutored by her, right?”

“Yeah. In fact, they’re studying upstairs.”

I thought they might just be chatting with studying as an excuse, but they were really studying.

“It’s hard to complain…”

Well…

I guess my mother probably wants to say she should go home.

She definitely dislikes Iver.

“That brother of mine is seriously studying.”

“That’s true. And that girl is from the family restaurant, right? Which means Tsukasa being able to use spatial magic is thanks to her…”

“Looks like that.”

My brother seemed happy and kept pulling out his phone and wallet unnecessarily.

Both my father and mother looked pleased watching him.

My mother even cried…

“We go out every Saturday, and this past week, he was out late, so I thought spring had come for Tsukasa… but of all people, Iver…”

That past week was special training just for me.

I can’t mention this since it would expose our duel.

“I heard your brother is teaching the president martial arts.”

Iver is a warrior family, and the seemingly dull president probably asked my brother for help.

That’s the only thing my brother excels at.

“Martial arts, huh…”

“Mom… They’re both studying together every week. Plus, they’re both training in martial arts together as well? And the girl has no friends other than that boy. The boy might be stupid but is cheerful.”

“Sounds like something I’ve read in a manga…”

I’ve seen it too.

The probability of them getting together is 100 percent.

“They complement each other’s weaknesses and grow together… It’s a common story.”

Besides, martial arts training involves physical contact.

The trust builds up exponentially.

“So they mesh perfectly… I thought there couldn’t be such a convenient development, but now my own son is in that situation…”

Well…

“What should we do? Your brother definitely won’t listen if we tell him.”

The president is beautiful and has a great figure.

And on top of that, she even tutors him.

“What should we do… What do you think?”

“I don’t know? Worst case, he might just run off to Iver.”

That’s possible.

My brother is that type of person.

Even if Grandma from La Folle gets angry and disowns him, he’d ignore it and come back to beg for allowance.

With no ill intentions, Grandma would just let it slide.

I can see it happening.

“La Folle absolutely won’t allow that. Before anything concerning Iver, it’s out of the question to let go of Tsukasa. His magic is exceptional even among the La Folle family.”

Well… that’s true.

“So, should we involve the president?”

“The next head?”

Not possible.

“Seems like a Romeo-and-Juliet situation…”

“Ugh… I wish for Tsukasa and your happiness. So, I want to support you. But this is too complicated…”

Both my brother and the president seemed to not be thinking about anything.

For now, it’s because they have no romantic feelings for each other.

But from an objective viewpoint, they are seconds away from falling in love.

In fact, considering why the president threw the gloves at me, it feels more like a second away.

That was more about me mocking my brother rather than anything about Mathias.

“What would be the ideal outcome?”

“Could they just elope?”

My mother likes reading that kind of manga on her smartphone…

So do I.

“Is that really okay?”

“Better than Romeo and Juliet.”

Well, that’s a tragic love story after all.

Both of them end up dead.

“What should we do?”

“We can only hold off for now. It’s not definitive that they will get together.”

Well, that’s true…

“They’re already at the level of inviting each other over…”

Normally, they wouldn’t invite someone over, and girls usually don’t visit boys’ houses, right?

“Charlene is the student council president, so she must be a serious elite, right? Eventually, Tsukasa’s foolishness might get on her nerves.”

“Well… that might happen.”

“I’m sure of it.”

My mother surely doesn’t believe that.

Elites tend to fall for those kind of assertive fools.
