“Oh my goodness, is that really our actor?”
The president of Baek Siwoo’s fanclub ‘DolaetSiwoo’, ‘ConvenienceStoreHer’.
She was the same ‘ConvenienceStoreHer’ who worked at the convenience store during the jammy invasion incident that graced the first page of Baek Siwoo’s accidents and incidents.
After that event, her fandom exploded to the point where she even founded a fanclub.
As a talented member recruited through a special event, her dedication to the fandom was rock-solid.
“Still our actor, right? This certification photo, it’s just…”
With the certification photos uploaded, showing every angle as if taken during a jail admittance scene—front, side, back—it was clear to anyone that it was indeed our actor’s certification picture.
Right from the start, it was a certification shot oozing with spirit.
And most importantly, one must question: what kind of celebrity would willingly upload both their ID and candid photos to their fanclub as a form of certification?
This kind of absurd commitment wasn’t something easily found.
Of course, the ID photo brought nothing but gratitude.
“Hopefully, he’s not disappointed by how few members we have…”
The only concern was whether the actor might be disappointed by the small number of members in the fanclub.
However, there were valid reasons. The founding members of the fanclub unanimously agreed:
Unlike idol fandoms, where group activities like album preorders and streaming campaigns are frequent, actors’ fandoms don’t require a mass following for anything significant.
Moreover, when the actor is involved in a scandal, the club finds more activity anyway, and having elite members proved more impactful.
Random hangers-on often just stir up unnecessary drama, so it was proven that when only the best fans were present, they could handle even scandals like school violence allegations or dating rumors without panicking. Indeed, the fans gathered here were drawn by our actor’s overwhelming charm or eccentricity, and even significant scandals couldn’t shake them.
“His lack of fan service is the only problem, but now that he’s joined us himself, maybe it’s okay to start expecting something.”
On the flip side, one issue remained:
While our actor seemed genuinely committed to his acting, he lacked other activities. No variety shows, no commercials, not even the usual SNS presence.
In fact, there was no word of where or what he was doing at all, indicating that our actor must be an extreme shut-in.
While staying indoors beats pointless drug or drunk-driving scandals, it was excessive not to have even a single sighting.
“At least the first sighting turned out to be a scandal. A scandal involving siblings, no less. Truly, something only our actor could pull off—a scandal with such eccentric charm.”
So now that he had personally arrived in the fan club, could it be time to expect some fan service?
‘ConvenienceStoreHer’ marked the actor’s level up in the fanclub to ‘DolaetSiwoo’ and decided to tentatively request some fan service.
The fanclub level has been modified.
‘DolaetSiwoo’, with privileges equal to those of the club president.
The “Dolaet! Si! Woo!” mark next to the welcome message I posted was quite memorable.
It’s an odd feeling.
The club president, who upgraded my level, sent me a private message.
She needs more content for fandom activities.
Of course, being an actor means ultimately focusing on acting, but fans always seek more.
Scandals aside, the more material to fan over, the better.
“Fan service… what would be good?”
Of course, a fan meeting like Celestial Yuah’s would be ideal.
But with a fanclub of merely 600 members, isn’t it too early for a fan meeting?
How many people would even show up?
“Then, maybe daily photos or SNS. Or, live streaming?”
Photos are something I can keep uploading in the future.
And as for live streaming…
“I don’t know what to do with this one. Hmm… well, okay, I’ll give it a shot.”
Live streaming, at its core, is just about having fun, isn’t it?
Without any set format or content, I decided to just start and see where it goes.
A notice for the live broadcast was posted on the fanclub.
The timing was set for that night.
Since it was live fan service, I decided to make it a private broadcast.
This kind of broadcast works best with fewer viewers. It’s more about engaging with dedicated fans rather than drawing in random people.
And frankly, for increasing recognition, it’s better to just release another project.
“…Wait, why are there so many people?”
With a fanclub of just 600 members, I expected maybe a few dozen people to show up, which would be considered a decent turnout. But over 500 people tuned in.
Much more than I imagined.
“Did you by chance spread the password to other places and do some promotion?”
Out of curiosity, I asked the fans directly.
Apparently not. They insisted they weren’t interested in forced recruitment.
They reaffirmed their desire to keep the fandom small and elite, which made this group truly unique.
“Ahh, this is embarrassing.”
Hundreds of people are watching me speak, which makes me feel somewhat awkward.
I was trying to figure out what I should do when they assured me that anything would do.
That’s how much they loved every aspect of me, even my quirks.
“…Then, let’s watch other streamers’ broadcasts while talking.”
Since I felt unsure of what to do alone, I decided to watch another streamer’s broadcast and chat with the fans.
That led to quite the commotion.
They came to watch my broadcast, not someone else’s, they clamored.
I was surprised. Just moments ago, they had said anything would be fine. Was this whole group not normal?
Not that I can blame them. If these people are the ones who passed the quiz to become members, they’re definitely not ordinary.
“Wait, why are you so fascinated by looking at some silly guy’s face…”
-Of course, because we’re your fans.
-I came here to see you.
“Ahhh, right. But am I really ‘oppa’ material? Not some slouchy one, right?”
I mean, back in the days when I used to watch live streams, most male streamers seemed laid back and unpolished.
Yet, here everyone is calling me ‘oppa,’ causing a bit of cognitive dissonance. Hence my question, but it stirred up quite the storm.
There’s no way a handsome male actor could have more male fans than female fans.
“Right, I am a handsome… actor.”
This is quite surprising. Real female fans are flocking to my live stream, rather than just lurking in the background.
Well, in any case…
Since everyone gathered here to see me, watching someone else’s broadcast might seem disrespectful.
Just as I was about to turn off the stream I had open, I noticed something peculiar in the corner.
-[Promotion][Pentaring! First Live Stream!][Event]
It was Pentaring’s first live stream.
“Wait, why is Pentaring here?”
Seriously, isn’t this something I shouldn’t be watching?
At this point, it must be a divine sign for me to view this. I couldn’t be guilty of anything here.
“Wait, but why Pentaring here?”
-Of course, Pentaring…
-This has to be king-sized!
-Fans agree!
The presence of Pentaring was unanimously accepted by the fans.
Alright, time for a quick peek…
“Wait, why are they streaming here? Don’t idols have designated streaming places?”
-Try PMC tradition. PMC rookies usually stream here.
-Ah, tradition…
Apparently, idols usually have designated channels for live streams.
But when I asked, I learned that traditionally, PMC idols perform their live broadcasts from this spot, populated by a variety of live streamers.
Nuclear did it, all the seniors did it—it seems to be the norm here.
Live streaming amidst a throng of streamers is PMC’s style.
Thinking about it closely, PMC might not be entirely sane to begin with.
After all, including my clumsy sibling debutant in a PMC project wasn’t exactly sensible.
“Wow… is this a food broadcast? They really do anything, don’t they? Isn’t this improper for idols?”
When I joined the broadcast, the Pentaring members were doing a food stream.
Heaven forbid, idols doing a food stream—does that even make sense?
Yet it was strangely fun. Fans, who are well aware of the carefulness idols usually practice with food, cheered them on to enjoy their meals.
Perhaps it’s a move to bring out the unexpected.
PMC is definitely more chaotic than I thought.
“Hmm? But sponsorship is open? Is this allowed?”
-Sponsoring should be closed. Having it pop up unexpectedly is disruptive. It must be a mistake.
-Ah, a mistake. As rookies, they might not have realized, right?
-No, traditionally PMC doesn’t interfere with streamers. Mistakes are often considered unique content here. Natural, fans love it.
Some of my fans seem quite experienced with fandoms, judging by the answers they gave.
Especially this response comes from someone with lots of PMC fandom knowledge.
After all, fandoms evolve and cross over, much like a wheel.
By the way, they have sponsorship open.
In streams where closing sponsorship is the norm, it’s obvious that no one has attempted to sponsor yet.
Maybe, as a legitimate streamer, I should let them know the sponsorship is open?
“I’ll have to scold them by sponsoring.”
-Ha, scolding via sponsorship! lol
-Actor, too classy!
-Our guy could be a bit more like you…
Oh, folks, I see some misunderstanding.
My intentions weren’t exactly that.
Still, it’s time the fans and I clarify our relationship.
No matter how business-like it may seem, too many people misinterpret the dynamics between us.
Therefore, when I say ‘scolding,’ I mean it as actual scolding.
Since they’re eating, I’ll throw in one of the typical video sponsorships found in food streams.
“So… alright.”
[Pentanylsarang donates 181818 candies.]
[…Another lunch skipped for six-year-old Alin… You can help…]
Suddenly, video sponsorship hit in the middle of Pentaring’s happy food stream, and their movements froze.
Faced with the poignant video of a hungry child, it seems they weren’t brave enough to continue their meal.
The comment section for the Pentaring stream went wild.
The combo of Pentanylsarang, 181818, and a child in need was undeniably effective.
“Mission accomplished.”
After watching their reaction for a bit, I made my exit.
During such situations, disappearing is always the best move.
It’s all karma, my clumsy sibling.
With this, I got a bit of payback for the humiliation I faced at the awards ceremony.
Of course, this is only the beginning.
