Chapter 419: Awakening
Dream Realm, Forest.
Between the boundless giant trees, under the impenetrable canopy where sunlight cannot reach, a long and distant chant echoes through the forest. Countless Dream Realm Beings flee in panic at the sound of dragon’s roar, dodging the sudden overwhelming threat that descends upon them.
At the source of the chant, a giant dragon, emerging from a portal, spreads its massive wings and soars over the new forest. The moment it emerges, its sharp golden eyes lock onto its prey, the bizarre moth struggling to escape.
In front of the dragon’s powerful wings, the pseudo-moth’s wings appear weak and ineffective. Unable to help the pseudo-moth escape the fatal threat, it is quickly caught by the dragon within an instant. As the dragon’s claws firmly grasp the pseudo-moth, it falls from the sky and crashes heavily onto the ground under the dragon’s pressure. The dream cocoons attached to its abdomen fall off in the vibration, and the pseudo-moth’s body twists and deforms under the immense pressure. It writhes violently, trying desperately to struggle. If it had a mouth, it would surely let out the most agonizing scream.
“Danger! Pain… The scale-moth is severely wounded… It is suffering… I am also suffering…”
“Ahh… We must escape quickly…”
“My body is broken… The pain is spreading… Why is the giant dragon from Ham River Forest here? Who was in the carriage just now?”
Underground at the ritual site in Navaha, the Black Dream members connected to the pseudo-moth all let out painful cries as the pseudo-moth is slammed onto the ground. Their originally composed posture is shattered.
Unable to make any sound, the pseudo-moth’s pain is expressed through these Black Dream members. They all lie on the ground, writhing and screaming in agony. Garcia and others, who are deeply connected, even shed bl**d tears. The dragon’s weight pressing on the pseudo-moth feels like it is pressing on them directly.
“We can’t give up… We must resist… We must escape… We can’t wait passively…”
Garcia shouted hoarsely, her tears mingling with bl**d. She then united the spirits of the Black Dream members, guiding the pseudo-moth to launch a counterattack.
In the Dream Realm, the pseudo-moth, under the dragon’s oppression, began to emit a shimmering silver light. Its entire form became hazy, like a mist. In this haze, it escaped the dragon’s grip.
This was a method used by the pseudo-moth to actively draw closer to the Real World, making itself less substantial in the Dream Realm to slip away. It was somewhat similar to completely retreating into the Dream Realm to avoid attacks from the Real World, but unlike that, the pseudo-moth could not fully enter the Real World.
Although the pseudo-moth exists simultaneously in both the Real World and the Dream Realm, it is essentially an illusory entity of the Dream Realm. It has a “substance” in the Dream Realm but not in the Real World. The part of it in the Dream Realm resembles its true form, while the part in the Real World is more like a projection.
Thus, although the pseudo-moth can fully transform into a Dream Realm Being and disappear in the Real World, it cannot fully transform into a Real World Being and disappear in the Dream Realm. At this moment, the pseudo-moth is drawing closer to the Real World, making its existence in the Dream Realm temporarily hazy. However, this temporary haziness is enough for it to break free from the dragon’s grip.
The hazed pseudo-moth slipped out of the pressure, ghost-like, circling behind the giant dragon. It then de-hazed and materialized, launching an attack from behind. Countless tentacles extended, wrapping around the dragon in coils, attempting to tighten and bind it completely. Several tentacles wrapped around the dragon’s slender neck, seemingly trying to strangle it. Instantly, it looked as if the dragon was entangled by several thick snakes, all trying to constrict it together.
However, how could these soft, wriggling tentacles be a match for the dragon’s sturdy scales and sharp spines? The tightening of the pseudo-moth’s tentacles did not succeed in strangling any part of the dragon; instead, they were pierced and severed by the dragon’s back spines. The dragon’s robust bones made no sound under this frail constriction, but the tentacles were injured by the spines, causing the Black Dream members in the underground ritual site to cry out in pain again.
Ignoring the tentacles’ constriction, the dragon slowly turned, glaring at the pseudo-moth with its golden eyes before opening its mouth and biting down on the tentacles entwining it. Then, it shook its head, pulling the hovering pseudo-moth down forcefully. Once the pseudo-moth hit the ground, the dragon stomped on its abdomen, pressing it further into the ground. The pseudo-moth struggled fiercely, but to no avail.
Next, the dragon used its wing claws and sharp teeth to cruelly dismember the pseudo-moth. Its tentacles and wings were torn and plucked one by one, leaving deep gashes across its body.
This was a hunt where the strength was completely mismatched. The thin outer shell and soft tentacles of the pseudo-moth could not withstand the sharp claws and strong muscles of the dragon. The bizarre creature had no chance of resistance against the dragon’s formidable presence; it could only suffer and d*e. The Black Dream Hunter Group members, deeply connected to the pseudo-moth, began to scream and thrash in agony. Some lost consciousness outright, their intense mental pain preventing them from unifying their will to guide the pseudo-moth. Now, the pseudo-moth had become nothing more than a victim to be slaughtered.
They never imagined that the Ham River Forest Dream Dragon Lord, who should have been far away in the Dream Realm, would suddenly appear here. Although the pseudo-moth was not fully developed, it was extremely powerful both in the Real World and the Dream Realm.
In the Real World, the pseudo-moth could easily fight against seven or eight White Chalks using its powerful hypnotic waves, large reserves of spirituality, tricky ethereal body, and pesky interdimensional abilities. Even against a fully developed Red Tier Extraordinary Being, it wasn’t entirely powerless. In the Dream Realm, although the pseudo-moth’s hypnotic waves and interdimensional abilities were ineffective, its massive form still dominated most Dream Realm Beings and Extraordinary Beings’ Dream Formations.
In the Dream Realm, where conventional Extraordinary Abilities were useless and only raw physical strength mattered, the pseudo-moth’s advantages were even greater. While it might not be able to defeat a fully developed Red Tier Extraordinary Being in the Real World, in the Dream Realm, the Red Tier Formation’s strength would struggle to match it. In the entire Dream Realm, there were very few forms capable of defeating the pseudo-moth. Unfortunately, the Ham River Forest Dragon Lord was one of them.
On the grassland of the forest, the pseudo-moth struggled under the dragon’s ruthless onslaught. The Black Dream members did not understand why their scale-moth, which should be a higher and stronger existence in the Dream Realm, was suffering such a fate.
In its pain, the pseudo-moth instinctively launched a desperate counterattack. Its numerous irregularly positioned eyes stared at the nearby dragon, then burst forth with countless beams of silver light. At such close range, the dragon was hit by the silver beams, but these tiny beams did not penetrate its scales; instead, they were deflected.
Seemingly enraged by the pseudo-moth’s counterattack, the dragon roared and then used its wing claws to pin the pseudo-moth’s head firmly to the ground. Immediately after, it opened its mouth above the pseudo-moth and roared out ancient words.
“Fus-Ro-Dah!”
A thunderous voice echoed through the forest. The ancient words, uttered in anger, transformed into an invisible force and exploded towards the pseudo-moth. When that unparalleled powerful impact struck the pseudo-moth, its already battered body completely disintegrated.
