My body feels light. My vision is wide.
How long has it been since I’ve felt this sensation?
Even though a lazy aura still envelops me, for some reason, the breeze feels refreshing.
─Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you
─This isn’t a cam, so please don’t take a break tomorrow, I’m begging you!
─If I see a notice saying you’re going on a break because of this, I’ll hold my breath!
─Fact is, if it were the original plan, it would’ve been a two-day break…
─For real, today’s stream is just for everyone to relax, and tomorrow is obviously a break, lol
─??? : I promised you all that I would take a break…
─What? I never made such a promise, you lunatic!
─I don’t care, let’s just enjoy the now???
─For real, I’m just super happy, man, lol!
Even though I hadn’t done anything, the chat window was racing upwards at an incredible speed.
Well, it makes sense.
A World Quest of this scale is bound to excite gamers.
“I like it too, everyone….”
─Guys, I got confessed to by a girl today, lol!
─Omg, me too, lol!
Skipping over the incomprehensible chat window chatter, I gazed straightforwardly with my clearly widened vision.
Barley Town was ablaze.
Familiar NPCs of the village were fighting Tagirion’s minions.
It was a scene I had seen countless times from that other world.
The minions of Tagirion appeared to overlap with the heretics, causing havoc for no reason.
“Ugh…”
I took a breath, used my acceleration skill, and lightly tapped my foot in place.
I certainly felt much lighter, but compared to that other world, it still felt somewhat dull.
But well… situations like this happen often when fighting heretics, so it shouldn’t be much of a problem, right?
Probably not, I guess.
Having concluded that, I immediately leapt towards Tagirion’s minions.
Ka-woosh!!!
With a single swing, the ground deeply gouged, sending one of them crashing down.
Did I take about 20 percent off their HP?
Looking at the scene before me, it wouldn’t be strange for them to die instantly, but as expected of a World Quest, these guys were incredibly tough.
…Well, that wasn’t really important.
It just meant I had to hit them five more times to kill them.
As I thought that, I continued my assault, and the one that was pinned to the ground soon turned to ash and vanished.
“Phew…”
As I felt the languid sensation spreading throughout my body, I moved as if a fog had settled in my head.
It wasn’t a bad feeling. But it wasn’t a good feeling either. It was bothersome and enjoyable.
[Kyaaaar!]
As I got lost in my thoughts, an unpleasant roar echoed from behind me.
“Why do they make such sounds while looking like people…?”
And as I pondered that question, I reflexively stepped back.
The spot where I had just stood was now in flames.
“Is it okay to treat a comrade’s grave like that…?”
─Why are you saying that after you killed it, you jerk, lol!
Three minions of Tagirion were glaring at me.
In that last case, I had killed it before it could counterattack, so I couldn’t even gauge its pattern.
If all three came at once, would I be able to see it…?
Let’s remember one attack pattern that uses fire… no. Can I even do that?
I don’t know.
My head feels foggy, so I can’t concentrate.
[Kyaaaar!]
The first one to charge at me was the one on the left.
A red sphere was forming between wide-spread wings and a horn on its head.
I wonder how it will attack? Just a fleeting thought.
Instinct and sensation.
I let my body surrender to just those two and shifted my weight to my toes.
The wind that whipped from its wings and the accompanying searing heat.
The feeling of breath being taken away was quite unpleasant.
As it closed in, the creature reached out with its sharp claws, and I immediately twisted my body to dive into its embrace.
The claws swept past my eyes.
The heat was almost blistering.
The wind awakened my senses.
As memories of that other world flooded back, I swung my warhammer towards its torso with my foggy head.
Then, I wedged the tip of the warhammer into the minion’s waist, perfectly disrupting its balance.
And as it slid backward, I swung the warhammer towards its head once more.
Ka-ching!
“Phew…”
The clear, pleasant sound resonated, and the sensation of impact felt good.
As I prepared to swing the warhammer at it again, I felt a prickling chill run down my back.
I immediately threw my body to the side and fleetingly glanced back, where the minion I had just taken down was ablaze.
“How could you attack your comrade like that… that’s totally heretic behavior….”
Well, my HP isn’t dropping.
─It’s your fault, you crazy girl, lol!
There are still three minions of Tagirion targeting me.
Should I be grateful?
The other minions were being handled well by the NPCs.
There were still no players around except for me…
This is why unpopular areas are sad.
─Taking on three is still a tall order, isn’t it?
─For real, right now without armor, I’d die just from a brush against them, damn it;
─In this situation, the Great Demon Rene has already killed one and is about to finish off another!
─This must also be the Goddess Iya’s blessing…
─But watching other streams, minions are giving them a hell of a time, so why is this girl doing so well?
─I just died, and something strange popped up.
─That’s a bear girl;
─If you look at her swinging without armor and using acceleration, you’ll see the answer, lol.
─For real, isn’t she basically a beast…?
─Fact is, if she’s that much of a beast, I’ll just like beasts, lol.
─I agree…
─Guess I’m a beast too!
The first minion that targeted me had about 50 percent HP left, while the other two were at full.
If you ask me whether it’s a tough situation or not, it’s definitely not an easy one.
But can this truly be called adversity?
…Absolutely not.
Calling it adversity would be an understatement for this situation.
I mean, my life isn’t even on the line, so what.
“Ugh…”
Waking my senses once more, I waited for their movements while tapping my feet.
Which one will be the first to move this time?
…No.
Come to think of it, do I even need to wait here?
Having figured out how fast they move, is there really any need to think primarily about counterattacks now?
…That seems right, doesn’t it?
After coming to that conclusion, I immediately stepped forward.
Then one of them swung its arm widely, creating a massive wall of flames right in front of me.
I swiftly twisted my body, slipped past the wall of flames, and leapt.
I charged straight towards the trio, putting my shoulder into it.
Yeah.
Better to be clustered together.
It’s much harder to react to a surprise attack from behind.
Just keep moving in my line of sight.
“Ugh…!”
The one I targeted first was obviously the one with only 50 percent HP left.
I dodged the claws coming straight at me while weaving through them.
The place I found myself in was surrounded by those creatures.
Bam!
I immediately activated Jin-gak, pushing the minions away.
“Got one, at least…”
Then I rushed toward the minion with 50 percent HP left to finish it off.
So, it went from a 3-to-1 to a 2-to-1 situation, but there was no time to pause.
After all, I was still outnumbered.
I dashed toward the nearest minion at a right diagonal.
It also swiftly extended its sharp claws at me, but unfortunately, it had no intention of landing a blow.
Ka-ching!
In such moments, the warhammer really shines.
If I had fought with another weapon, it would’ve taken at least five times longer.
Anyway, now there was only one minion left.
It was no threat at all.
I jumped immediately to throw it off balance, sending it crashing to the ground.
“Ugh…”
My head felt dazed. My entire body lazy.
Though I felt somewhat refreshed from the recent fight, the urge to rest overwhelmed me.
Since the NPCs were fighting well… it would be fine to take a little break, right?
With that, I climbed atop the last minion’s body, pressing down with my warhammer to catch my breath.
Then, it started to squirm desperately, trying to break free.
“Stay still… it’s uncomfortable when you wiggle…”
But despite my words, it continued to thrash about.
“Why bother, it’s pointless… you’re just foolish, really….”
Well, of course.
It didn’t even know what I was saying, so what point was there?
Shall I start moving again?
As I thought that, I raised my warhammer to swing.
Ka-ching!
Crack!
“Huh?!”
Along with the clear sound came an unpleasant sensation stabbing into my side.
I immediately turned my gaze to see another minion reaching out toward me from afar.
That one was coming from the exact opposite direction of the NPCs…
In other words, it was from a completely different direction…
[DEATH]
Just like that, I perished from a blow with no armor equipped.
─I died so absurdly easily, damn it, lol!
…Seriously, though.
