One day, I found a nymph.
Ever since I was a child, I’ve been good at doing various things.
Whether it was studying, sports, or gaming, I always picked them up faster than others.
This was partly because I was naturally smart and quick-witted. At least, that’s what I believed.
Of course, I also got bored easily despite learning things quickly, so I never really saw anything through to the end. Still, I mocked the average students, thinking smugly that with enough effort, I could surpass everyone.
And when the world changed and rifts appeared, the same thing happened.
I became one of the rare Awakeneds and quickly ascended to D Rank faster than anyone else.
“Fastest D-Rank achiever, Haildo!”
Wielding a weapon and exploring dungeons, I basked in the cheers and jealousy of others, feeling like the protagonist of my own story.
This was truly my path!
This time, I would work harder than anyone and reach the peak!
Even my fickle heart began to settle steadily on this goal.
But as time passed, and newcomers who became Awakeneds much later than me advanced towards B Rank and A Rank, I remained stuck at D Rank.
The fall from my once-lofty position was excruciatingly painful.
And then, one day as time moved on,
I met someone rummaging through trash bins in a back alley.
The person introduced themselves as a nymph.
“What’s a nymph anyway?”
