“Heheh.”
Bellver is the protagonist of this world.
It’s not delusions of grandeur— he reallyisthe protagonist.
This world is from an academy-style novel, and right now Bellver is the story’s protagonist.
So after the entrance ceremony, standing in front of the academy gates and laughing like someone with middle-school syndrome isn’t a problem at all.
Why?
Because Bellver is the protagonist.
Who would dare stand in the way of the protagonist?
That’s what he thought.
“Step aside, commoner.”
“Huh?”
But the world is vast, and people are many.
There can be someone who boldly commands Bellver.
After all, the current Bellver is nothing special.
He’s not the kind of protagonist that makes the empire tremble or gets cheered by the academy.
He’s just another student.
The story hasn’t even begun yet. What does he have?
Barely enough living expenses were thrown his way as a courtesy for reincarnation.
All the reincarnation perks are concentrated on talent because no training or guidance has been given yet.
Right now, without any teaching or practice, it means nothing.
Doesn’t Bellver look like a lunatic to the noblewoman?
A student randomly laughing in the middle of the road will probably just be seen as crazy, and that’s lucky.
His face is decently handsome, worthy of a protagonist.
But basically, most nobles in this world are good-looking anyway.
It’s a fantasy novel world, after all.
“I said step aside. Do you dare defy my words?”
“Ah, no… I’ll move…”
Bellver naturally stepped aside to check who she was.
There are two reasons for this.
First, before reincarnating, Bellver was someone who couldn’t even make eye contact with others, let alone women.
Second, he knows this noblewoman.
Bellatrix de Salazar.
A proper villainess type among the many antagonists in this academy-style novel.
She became an antagonist due to jealousy toward one of the heroines’ talents.
Always playing second fiddle, so to speak.
Of course, to the current Bellver, even if there were ten thousand of him, he couldn’t touch even a hair on her head.
So there’s no choice but to step aside.
If he messes up and breaks something, how will he deal with it?
Bellver understands reality very well.
Even knowing countless details about the novel, its developments, and hidden treasures, none of it matters now, right?
So there’s no other option but to shrink back.
As Bellatrix passes by arrogantly, Bellver thinks:
‘Bad luck on the first day.’
Bellver also liked Bellatrix when he was a reader.
She was an effort-driven villainess.
She truly cried while trying hard to close the gap between herself and those born with advantages.
And she never once resorted to underhanded powers.
But she wasn’t superhuman.
As she grew weary, an opportunity came from one of the main villains, leading her to corruption.
After falling into darkness, she gets defeated by the protagonist and, in her final moments, reconciles with the heroine she envied before dying.
“Scary. Can I go back to Earth now…?”
This was Bellver’s sentiment upon meeting Bellatrix, whom he used to like as a reader.
After all, he’s no longer a reader but the protagonist himself.
How could an ordinary person not feel fear when someone capable of killing him with one hand passes by so coldly?
“Reforming or helping her? Let’s just forget about that cleanly.”
Originally, Bellver had a grand dream.
To reform tragic villains beforehand and achieve a perfect happy ending—a childish dream like that.
This dream disappeared instantly the moment he saw Bellatrix.
Because he realized he could never approach her.
You’d need to get close to help someone, right?
The world was harder than he imagined.
Bellatrix carries an extreme sense of superiority.
While all nobles might have some level of elitism, Bellatrix takes it to another level.
Just calling Bellver a “commoner” clearly shows it, doesn’t it?
“Guess I should head to the dormitory. Me going there directly myself!”
Bellver erased the memory of encountering Bellatrix with his characteristic positive mindset.
Right now, all he has on his mind is heading to the dormitory where so many episodes take place.
The dormitory is shared by both males and females.
Of course, the female section is in the south wing, and the male section is in the north.
You can go anytime, but if you do, you’ll attract gazes from the opposite s*x.
On top of that, demons patrol the dormitory hallways 24/7 to prevent accidents or crimes.
Is there anyone who would commit a crime against the opposite s*x despite all those demons?
Well, there are, but so far, they’ve all been caught and expelled.
Although later in the story, incidents of breaking through the demon patrols do occur.
“None of that concerns me though. I can stop it before it happens.”
Entering the dormitory, Bellver felt overconfident.
Knowing all the plot twists, he believed there was no way he couldn’t prevent them.
If things got tough, he could always report to a professor too.
“This bed is so soft. If I’m like this in the lower ranks, what kind of rooms do the top students live in?”
Finding his room, Bellver flopped onto the bed.
Even after a week of reincarnation, he still hadn’t fully adapted.
Half excitement, half anxiety.
The lingering worry that some unknown disaster might happen when he wakes up tomorrow.
Determined not to think negatively, Bellver closed his eyes tightly.
Sleeping seemed like the best way to regain strength.
“Please let me see a happy ending…”
Bellver muttered to himself as if casting a spell.
For the weak Bellver, this was an extremely important ritual.
A ritual that determined his own tomorrow.
Immediately after finishing the important ritual, he fell asleep.
Time passed, and he woke up.
“What the hell is this?!?!”
Inside Bellatrix’s body.
