I, naturally, thought this world had no concept of genres.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a world brimming with fantasy elements like magic and dungeons. Shouting “Status Window!” would actually make one pop up right before my eyes, but other than being able to check stats and titles, it had no special function.
Until one day.
Without any warning, a system message appeared in front of me, even though I hadn’t shouted “Status Window!”.

<Main Quest (1) ‘The Beginning of the Incident Starts with the Academy!’>
Objective: Enroll in Crescent Academy.
Details: The prelude to adventures and conspiracies surrounding the Academy has begun. Participate in the Crescent Empire Academy’s entrance exam for the 158th class and successfully gain admission.
Reward: Job Selection, 10 Stat Points.
Penalty: Game Over and Reset.
“Start…?”
I blinked several times, unsure if the blurry message in front of me was a genuine system message or just an illusion brought on by exhaustion. But it was real.
I realized it then.
The world I entered wasn’t the genre-less medieval fantasy world I originally thought it was, but rather a genre-driven story centered around an ‘Academy.’
“An Academy…?”
And thus, after ten years, I finally came to this realization.
