Chapter 1: What Is This Spell?

Chapter 1: What Is This Spell?

“Cosmic Phantom Beast Fist – Steel Breaker Bull Punch!”

With Diablo’s punch, both Gaia and Ailin were ruthlessly knocked to the ground, their injuries rendering them incapable of continuing the fight, unable to rise again.

“In the end, you’re just a pathetic human. It’s impossible for you to stand in the way of the great dream of us, the Ultimate Life Forms of the Adrian People. I’ll be taking the princess, as her power is indispensable to our clan. It’s simply too wasteful to let someone like you use her strength.”

Diablo hoisted the unconscious Ailin onto his shoulder, turning to head into a wormhole and return to his base.

“Hey! Give Ailin back! She’s my wife!”

Gaia propped himself up with his gun as he struggled to stand. He couldn’t just watch as some random wild man took away his wife. He had promised the Ice Dragon King and Ailin that he would protect her no matter what enemy came.

“Give it up. At your current state, you can’t stop me at all. The princess will become one of our great god’s sacrifices. Don’t you think that’s the best outcome for her?”

“Don’t joke around! Ailin! She’s not some damn sacrifice for you guys to wake your so-called god! Ugh…”

Just then, Diablo’s fist slammed into Gaia’s abdomen.

“That last comment? I can’t just pretend I didn’t hear it. How dare you insult our deity—this sin you must repay with your life.”

Diablo was about to drop Ailin and deliver the finishing blow to this man.

“Stop! Our mission isn’t to kill. Now that we have successfully captured the target princess, let’s hurry back. Don’t waste any more time.”

Just as Diablo was about to act, Gilbaris appeared from the wormhole to block his path.

“Tsk. Consider yourself lucky.”

Diablo reluctantly relinquished his plan and carried Ailin back into the wormhole.

“We’ll take care of the princess. You just enjoy your life as king. Though, there won’t be much time left for you to enjoy. Hahaha.”

Gilbaris mocked Gaia a little more before following Diablo into the wormhole.

“Ailin… Ailin! Damn it!”

Gaia could only lie in the snow, letting out a furious howl before passing out. His knights found him and took him back to the royal palace.

“Well done, Diablo. Truly deserving of your title as the strongest among the three of us. In direct combat, there’s simply no one who can compete.”

Gilbaris gave Diablo a thumbs up. Among the three, only Diablo had successfully captured both the Light Saint and Ice Dragon Princess as sacrifices. As for the Wind Fairy and the female knight, those were caught by himself and Titan. Now they just needed to capture the Phoenix and Blood Clan Little Princess to complete the offerings needed to awaken the god.

“Of course. I’m not like you guys who need to team up to catch sacrifices. My power is far beyond yours.”

Diablo huffed, placing shackles on Ailin.

“Cough cough cough. What exactly do you want? Why are you targeting me?”

Ailin coughed twice, staring at the two standing in front of her. Why had she ended up in such a miserable situation? She had initially thought that coming into a game-like world meant enjoying a power-filled life, but here she was, ending up like this.

“Let me explain. We, the Adrian People, seek to awaken the great god and bring this world under the rule of our Chaos Clan. But to awaken the god, we need to offer six sacrifices, and you are one of the glorious six. Do you understand?”

Gilbaris explained to Ailin why they were after her. Now that she was captured, being told about it was the least they could do—she deserved an explanation before facing doom.

“No… No! Let go of me! I don’t want to be any kind of sacrifice!”

Upon hearing she was to be sacrificed, Ailin panicked, trying to shake off the chains on her legs.

“Be quiet! Or you won’t like what comes next.”

Diablo dropped a punch into her abdomen, knocking her out cold.

“I’ll take care of the next two sacrifices. You two just sit back and watch how I crush the enemies with my power.”

“Wait! You have to leave the Phoenix to me.”

Just as Diablo was about to leave, Titan stood in his way. He couldn’t care less about Aierjisi, but Weirafiya, that Phoenix, he had to deal with himself. He had to take revenge.

“Hmph, you think you can take on the guy who got pounded by the Phoenix? Get out of my way. If we relied on you to catch the rest of the sacrifices, who knows when we’d get them all?”

Diablo shoved Titan aside and left.

“I really want to chop that guy up.”

Titan placed his hand on the sword at his waist. If not for the fact that they were from the same race, he would have drawn his sword and sliced Diablo into pieces long ago.

“Calm down, Titan. We both know Diablo is like this—extremely arrogant. He won’t listen to us. If he doesn’t eat a bit of humble pie, he’ll keep ignoring us.”

Gilbaris stopped Titan; they didn’t need to do anything. Someone would take care of Diablo for them, and they just needed to wait here.

Meanwhile, Aierjisi and Yake were purchasing some winter clothes at the City Lord’s suggestion.

“These clothes feel so hot!”

Aierjisi complained about the thick clothing on her, feeling tortured wearing them in this warm weather.

“Just bear with it a bit longer. We’ll be fine once we reach Panimir. By the way, have you checked if you’ve prepared everything? Is there anything you forgot?”

They were about to use the teleportation crystal that the City Lord had given them. Since it could only be used three times, Yake was quite careful about conserving the usage. If they forgot anything and had to return, it would waste two of their precious uses.

“Yeah, I checked. I haven’t forgotten anything. What about you?”

Aierjisi had nothing she needed to bring. She was empty-handed from the start.

“No need for you to worry about that. My stuff is all set. Now, let’s get this teleportation started!”

“Hurry up! I can’t take this heat anymore.”

“Hold on! Let me check the instructions on how to use this.”

Yake looked at the manual; the usage of the crystal was pretty straightforward. They just needed to chant the corresponding spell.

“Okay, let’s see… Balaa Balaa Energy, Huni La, Teleport, Panimir!”

The moment Yake shouted this spell, the crystal emitted a dazzling light and engulfed the two of them.
