Chapter 101: Is He Really the King of the Blood Clan?
“Well, it doesn’t have to be raw; cooked is fine too. Just hurry and bring some food over, preferably meat!”
“Understood, please wait a moment while I fetch the food.”
The servant bowed to Aierjisi, confirming he understood her order, and left the room.
“Father King, let’s wait here for a bit. The food will be here soon.”
“Mm…”
Carl never imagined he would one day rely on his daughter to eat.
“While we wait, why don’t you tell me what you’ve been through lately? I’m curious about what happened to you that led to this.”
Carl sat on the chair, taking advantage of the time before the food arrived to listen to his daughter’s stories.
“Do you want me to share it now? Sure. This might sound quite unbelievable, so I’m not sure if you’ll believe me, Father King.”
“If I can’t even believe my own daughter, then I’m unworthy of being a king, let alone a father.”
In truth, after being locked up by those Ultimate Life Forms for almost 300 years, Carl had seen enough strange things that he wouldn’t be surprised.
“Alright. Please wait a moment, Father King. Yake, bring out the cookies and tea; I want to share while we sip some tea.”
“Got it, as usual, you’re quite bossy about this.”
“Hm? Did you say something?”
“Nothing! You must have misheard me.”
Yake obediently brought out the teapot and tea bags, setting them on the table.
In just ten short minutes, Aierjisi managed to fill Carl in on her adventures since waking up in the Ruins.
“I see, so Aisi is still in Chester Town, right?”
“Yes, I asked him to stay there because the enemy might attack. He’s protecting your family, Yake.”
Speaking of this decision, Aierjisi wasn’t sure if it was the right one. If only Aisi had come along, it would have saved them a lot of trouble on the way.
“That decision isn’t bad at all. Those Ultimate Life Forms will resort to any means to achieve their goals. You’re very wise to leave the most powerful Aisi to guard family while the slightly weaker Aierjisi and Yake seek allies.”
“Here is the food you ordered. Three servings of steak, is this enough?”
Just then, the servant entered carrying three steaming steaks and placed them on the table.
“Not enough. Can you please get three more?”
Considering how long his Father King had been imprisoned, he must have been starving by now. Three measly steaks wouldn’t be enough for him!
“Understood.”
The servant nodded and left the room.
“I shouldn’t be eating this much, right?”
“Hey, Father King, you’ve been locked up by those lunatics for so long. They probably didn’t feed you well, right? You should at least try this steak; it tastes amazing!”
Thinking about Carl enduring inhumane treatment made Aierjisi uneasy—after all, he was her father.
“Alright then, I’ll give it a try.”
Carl cut a small piece of steak and put it in his mouth.
“So, Father King? How does it taste? Is this steak good?”
Aierjisi eagerly awaited his reaction as Carl chewed.
“Mmm! This steak is indeed delicious. I haven’t had such good food in ages.”
After tasting the steak’s delight, Carl dropped all notions of ‘elegance’ and casually picked up the steak, shoving the whole piece into his mouth.
【!!!】
Yake watched this spectacle, utterly dumbfounded. Oh my goodness, he just swallowed an entire steak without even chewing! How wide is this guy’s esophagus?
“Father King… you should really mind your manners a bit. Eating with your hands like this is quite impolite.”
Aierjisi smiled as she gently reminded him to uphold some decorum—even in front of his daughter, he shouldn’t just eat like that!
“Sorry, I’m just so hungry I can’t help it, and this steak tastes really good, so I gobbled it down.”
With one steak down, Carl took his time with the next two, cutting them into smaller pieces while savoring the flavor.
Before long, the other three steaks arrived at the table, giving him a total of six. This should be enough to fill him up.
“Excuse me, can you bring me a bottle of red wine?”
Just having steak isn’t enough; he needed something to drink too!
“Of course, understood.”
The servant left and returned in less than a minute with a bottle of red wine.
“Is there anything else you need?”
“No, sorry to bother you.”
“It’s no problem at all; it’s our job to serve the Royal Palace’s guests. Enjoy your meal, goodbye.”
The servant nodded and left the room for the last time.
“Phew, it’s been ages since I had such tasty food.”
After who knows how long, Carl finished all six steaks and a bottle of red wine, patting his belly in satisfaction.
“Full now, Father King?”
“Yes, it’s been a while since I ate so well.”
“Now that your stomach is settled, can you tell me what happened with the Blood Clan? I really want to know!”
Aierjisi looked at Carl, desperate for answers to her burning questions. Finally, since he had finished eating, she wouldn’t miss this chance.
“Mm… don’t worry, what I said will definitely be the truth. I will clarify everything, but before that…”
Carl suddenly leaped and laid down on the bed.
“After eating well, I definitely need a good nap. As for your questions, let’s discuss that after I wake up. Goodnight!”
“Father King! You can’t! If you’re going to sleep in my bed, at least wipe your mouth first! Also, this is MY bed!”
Aierjisi rushed to the bedside, pulling Carl’s legs to drag him down.
【Is this guy really the King of the Blood Clan? He doesn’t seem like one at all!】
Yake peered at Carl, doubts bubbling in his mind.
