Chapter 1029: The Ruthless Child
The restaurant descended into chaos; everyone was shocked to see a little kid so agile, daring to stand against these thugs.
You see, these thugs had the underworld backing them, which was why they were so brazen. This kid must be out of his mind!
“Dammit.”
Another thug tried to capture the Little Girl, but Lin Nuo struck fast and hard, tossing a small knife that landed squarely in the man’s eye.
“Ah!!!”
He clutched his eye, writhing on the ground in agony, blood streaming from the wound.
As for the thug he had been threatening, Lin Nuo hurled a teapot at his head. A chorus of pained cries erupted again.
Onlookers were dumbfounded. How could this little boy be so strong? Within moments, he had subdued both thugs.
“Boss, we ran out of teapots. Get a new one.”
Lin Nuo calmly said, returning to eat as if nothing had happened, utterly unfazed.
“By the way, these two are too much of an eyesore. Here’s some cash—who wants to take them out?”
Lin Nuo pulled out a hefty sum, but no one dared to take it, muttering quietly among themselves instead.
The man who had just been hit by Lin Nuo wasn’t done yet; he jumped up in defiance.
“You little brat, don’t get cocky with me!”
He charged at Lin Nuo, who remained calm and drew out his small knife.
“Too loud.”
He had intended to give the guy a chance, but since he didn’t get it, he might as well meet his end now.
With a swift move, he stabbed.
The knife was quick and decisive—he didn’t waste any time, directly killing the thug.
One wailed in pain, his eye a gore-splattered mess, while the other lay dead in a puddle of blood, sending everyone scrambling for the exits.
Who would have thought a mere child could be even more ruthless than these thugs, killing without a second thought?
The Little Girl was terrified—her big brother just committed murder.
“Big Brother, you… you killed someone…”
“Yeah, so what? Otherwise, you’d just be waiting to be bullied by them. A girl like you would be sold off as a wife and live a nightmarish life. Some of these guys might even be despicable enough to assault you, regardless of your age. Do you want to wait for them to do that?”
“N-no, that’s not… I didn’t mean that…”
“You think I’m cruel? Then feel free to leave, because this is just who I am.”
“N-no, that’s not what I meant. Please don’t get the wrong idea… Fine, I’ll stop talking.”
The Little Girl chose to go silent, realizing she had spoken out of turn.
Lin Nuo surveyed the panicked and timid crowd, coldly sneering:
“Just a bunch of cowards. It’s obvious they’re being oppressed by these thugs, yet no one dares to fight back, letting themselves be butchered. It’s survival of the fittest; the weak deserve to be oppressed.”
He ate a few more pieces of meat, initially hoping to just have a meal quietly, but ended up bumping into these two nuisances.
With people like this, the more you compromise, the more outrageous they become; they just love to bully the weak. Better to just wipe them out.
Of course, he knew what was coming next—he’d just angered the local evil organization, and trouble would soon come knocking.
No matter; the Lin family would probably come looking for him soon enough to clean up this mess.
How wonderful, causing trouble just for the Lin family to handle.
“Are you full?” Lin Nuo asked the Little Girl.
“I am, Big Brother.”
“Then let’s go; I’ll teach you how to make something fun next.”
“Fun? What is it?”
“You’ll find out soon enough.”
Lin Nuo said mysteriously, further piquing the Little Girl’s curiosity.
Something fun? What could it possibly be?
He tossed some coins on the table, leaving nonchalantly, not paying any mind to the two thugs lying on the floor.
“What kind of kid is that?”
“Looks like he’s from a wealthy family?”
“Hey, isn’t he from the Lin family? They’re supposedly looking for a child too.”
“Is there a Lin family kid this ruthless? I heard he’s just a mischievous little brat, but this kid is way calmer than any adult.”
…
The buzz of chatter about Lin Nuo filled the restaurant, a mysterious kid pulling off acts that even adults wouldn’t dare attempt.
The murder of the local thugs naturally caught the attention of a nearby gang. They certainly wouldn’t swallow this insult of being killed in broad daylight.
These two thugs belonged to a gang called the Dragon-Tiger Gang. Despite the fierce name, it was just a motley crew of lowlifes, making a show of strength while bullying the common folk.
“Boss, A San and Li Dog got into trouble! They tried to collect protection money at a restaurant and got taken down by a kid!”
A man rushed into a room, reporting to a brawny figure.
“Taken down by a kid? This is humiliating for the Dragon-Tiger Gang. What kind of kid is so arrogant? Capture them alive! I want him to experience my brand new punishment!”
“We’ve sent many brothers out to look for him; news should come in soon! We’ve also blocked all exits from the town, so he won’t be able to escape!”
“Good! I have important guests to attend to; you can leave now.”
“Yes!”
After the messenger left, the muscular man savored the drink in his cup before setting it down.
Before long, he was on his way to meet the guests.
The visitors were from Helong Hall, and at the forefront was Mu Feng, a minor leader in their organization.
“Lord Mu has personally arrived; what an unexpected honor!”
“Cut the chit-chat! My daughter has gone missing here—where is she?!”
“Lord Mu, you’re mistaken; your precious daughter was being protected by our elite members, all stronger than us. If she went missing, it’s truly not our fault…”
The Dragon-Tiger Gang leader was baffled. If your daughter was protected by so many capable individuals, how could she disappear? It’s more like you’re incompetent.
“Stop with the excuses! Use all your men to find her, and check the nearby Cangshan Forest; she might be in the mountains. If you don’t find her, don’t expect any future help from Helong Hall!”
Mu Feng was furious. He had initially been the one to escort his daughter, but had to step away unexpectedly, entrusting her to his subordinates. Now, she was missing without a trace.
He seriously suspected it was the Dragon-Tiger Gang’s doing, as he had already heard reports of them harboring treachery, possibly colluding with other factions to pull off this stunt.
“Lord, please stay calm; I’ll send my brothers to search right away. Just wait patiently.”
The Dragon-Tiger Gang leader smiled in response, trying to calm Mu Feng, but inside, he couldn’t help cursing. He’d let his men keep an eye out in town and maybe check the Cangshan Forest, but actually searching there? No way!
Anyone who went up wouldn’t return; the authorities had the area locked down, and who knew what happened up there. If something happened to his brothers, what then?
This Helong Hall just kept squeezing the Dragon-Tiger Gang; it was truly unbearable.
