Chapter 103: Dak Diemon Tries to Become a Detective
“Looks like it worked?”
“They don’t seem to have noticed that this is the effect of the night elixir.”
“After all, they’re first years.”
“First years are amazing!”
Seeing Wit and Robert actually succeed in their attempt, Squid and Pufferfish were almost moved to tears.
But after many failures, they had also grown.
Squid successfully suppressed the urge to rush out and grabbed Pufferfish, saying, “No, we need to be more careful; we can’t let our efforts go to waste.”
Then he took out a new Mana Spirit Card from his Mana Card Deck and said ominously, “First years don’t have the awareness to hide cards on themselves. Just take away their Mana Card Decks, and they’ll be lambs to the slaughter.”
“Good point. I’ll do the same.” Pufferfish stepped back and also took out a Mana Spirit Card.
Immediately, two small Mana Spirits emerged from their Mana Cards and suddenly shot out.
Squid’s Mana Spirit was a Water Monkey, while Pufferfish’s was a fat rat.
Both Mana Spirits moved incredibly fast, bursting forth unexpectedly.
Caught off guard, Robert didn’t react at all, and his Mana Card Deck hanging from his waist was quickly snatched away by the Water Monkey cutting the strap!
The fat rat made a similar move, but Wit suddenly stepped aside, causing the rat’s claws to miss the strap and instead cut a large gash in the Mana Card Deck.
Wit’s Mana Card deck spilled out, revealing a Selection Card, a [Magical Beast: Buck Deer], a “Gigant,” and several other newly made Mana Cards.
In an instant, Wit’s mind cleared as he lunged towards the flying “Gigant” card!
Suddenly, a black shadow flashed before him, sending the “Gigant” flying away!
Seeing the failure, Pufferfish, along with his other Mana Spirit, the Pufferman, rushed out.
The Pufferman, with its hairy legs, shot out spines, preventing Wit from retrieving the cards.
“Who… is it you again!”
Wit’s gaze swept over Pufferfish and instantly fixed on Squid, who had just walked out from the corner.
“What if it is me?”
Squid slowly walked forward, followed by the huge “Three-Eyed Squid.”
Wit felt an unprecedented rage: “Don’t forget who let you go before!”
Squid said darkly, “I remember, every bruise on my body remembers! Even if you released me to avoid being confined, you can’t erase the immense humiliation you inflicted on me! Son of the Hero, you and your lackey will fall into the abyss!”
Wit’s eyes flickered, instantly recalling the book “Into the Abyss.”
He turned around, and “Forbidden Love” slid out from the hidden compartment in his sleeve.
Seeing Squid getting closer, he fiercely slashed the air with “Forbidden Love,” roaring, “The Abyss doesn’t welcome you!”
A pink mist condensed into a woman’s silhouette and instantly lunged at the huge “Three-Eyed Squid”!
Seeing the Three-Eyed Squid’s three eyes transform, Wit was overjoyed!
But Squid didn’t notice until the Three-Eyed Squid used its tentacles to hoist him up, his face turning pale and panic-stricken: “Pufferfish, save me!”
Wit grinned wickedly and immediately ordered the Three-Eyed Squid to attack someone else.
Meanwhile, he seized the opportunity to pick up the cards.
However, just as he bent down, dozens of spines shot out, pinning him to the ground!
Pufferfish glanced at Squid, now bound by his Mana Spirit, and cursed, “Useless!”
From blindly following Squid to confirming his uselessness, Pufferfish had undergone a long mental journey.
Without hesitation, he manipulated his “Pufferman” to shoot countless sharp spines at the Three-Eyed Squid!
Each spine was coated with black poison, most of which pierced into the Three-Eyed Squid’s body!
The Three-Eyed Squid staggered forward a few steps, but the pufferfish venom exploded inside it, causing it to stiffen and vomit toxic ink.

“No!”
Wit never imagined Scott’s “Three-Eyed Squid” to be so useless, and his face changed drastically.
Scott, having escaped the Three-Eyed Squid’s bindings, screamed, “Water Monkey!”

“No!”
Another desperate scream echoed through the corridor from Wit and Robert.

Dak, walking in this direction, faintly heard some commotion.

When he arrived, the passage near the secret entrance was already covered in water and a few submerged Mana Cards.
“Go, investigate.”
Dak didn’t rush out but had the Imp Beast scout ahead.
After the Imp Beast returned, he approached the water and picked up the Mana Cards.
“Magical Beast: Buck Deer,” “Gigant,” “Mana Recovery Elixir” x2.
Further away, there was also a “Pururu.”
Five Mana Cards in total.
“Buck Deer, Gigant, these aren’t Wit Gold’s Mana Cards? How did they end up here?”
