Chapter 1033: A Pair of Idiots
“What kind of person did you capture that could kill our guys?!”
Mu Feng was shocked. What was going on? Could it be someone was pretending to be harmless, sneaking into Helong Hall, and then striking when the time was right to take them out?
“It’s just a little girl… Our brothers were robbing the common folk, and then she came to interrupt. So, we captured her, but then she went crazy and killed all the brothers.”
“Let’s put that aside for now. The priority is to save my daughter.”
Mu Feng gritted his teeth. Just when he thought things couldn’t get worse, disaster struck all at once.
His daughter’s life was what mattered most.
After discussing with his subordinates, he refocused on Lin Nuo.
“Kid, I don’t know why you’ve taken my daughter hostage, but please think rationally. Going against Helong Hall will only lead to a bad end. If you let her go, I will—”
“Quit the nonsense! I’ll let her go when I leave!”
Lin Nuo shouted at Mu Feng. Mu Feng, over a decade ago, was still somewhat handsome and youthful. Time had taken its toll, and now he looked much older.
It was no surprise they were scheming against each other in Helong Hall every day.
“Big brother, they seem to be saying I’m…”
“No, you’re not. Just come with me.”
Lin Nuo quickly quashed Mu Yiting’s thoughts. After all, it was just her body; her soul wasn’t involved, so it wasn’t a lie.
Lin Nuo took Mu Yiting and made his way out, but the Helong Hall gang didn’t dare to act; even if they wanted to use hidden weapons, she sensed them all.
At first, everything went smoothly as Lin Nuo maneuvered through the crowd, but the Helong Hall crew still followed closely behind, refusing to let him get too far away.
Lin Nuo kept dragging along, wondering if he could stall long enough for the Lin family to arrive. He didn’t hold out much hope, as those guys might not return home just because they couldn’t find him in Cangshan Mountain.
The little town was fully under Helong Hall’s control, and Lin Nuo sensed many ambushes everywhere, all waiting to shoot him with hidden weapons and send him straight to the heavens.
“This is quite the event, so many people. But I still recommend you all put away those hidden weapons, like that brother over there…”
Lin Nuo tossed a flying needle casually, slicing through the air and hitting a hidden Helong Hall subordinate, who collapsed instantly.
The people at the scene were astonished; this kid was defying the odds! He didn’t even look before throwing a hidden weapon and still managed to hit someone.
They all hesitated to act, fearing that if this kid tossed a hidden weapon at them, they’d be dead before even making a move.
Lin Nuo continued onward, and Mu Yiting was quite cooperative. Their journey had gone relatively smoothly.
However…
Lin Nuo felt a strong surge of energy approach, sending a shiver down his spine.
This aura…
Suddenly, someone burst forth, and Lin Nuo saw the source of this energy.
It was a little girl, but she didn’t have the innocence of a child; there was a fierce killing intent emanating from her.
Is it her?!
Yes, it was that girl, Su Kexin!
What was she doing here instead of going home?
Her hair was waving in the strong energy, and she was sprinting quickly toward Lin Nuo.
“Lord, it’s her! It’s this little girl!”
Mu Feng’s subordinate shouted in panic, pointing toward Su Kexin. The Helong Hall members rushed to intercept her, but after a few exchanges, they all fell dead.
It was hard to believe that a little girl could do such things.
“Big brother, isn’t that the girl from earlier…?”
“Run!”
Lin Nuo quickly tugged at Mu Yiting, honestly feeling a bit terrified of Su Kexin. Besides, he was still a child, and her explosive power could easily kill Helong Hall’s people.
As long as there were enemies around, Su Kexin’s explosive state would persist, unstoppable, almost as if she had gone mad, seemingly intent on chopping down everyone in sight.
She was also incredibly fast; Lin Nuo couldn’t outrun her and she quickly caught up.
“What are you doing?! Don’t you dare touch my daughter!”
Mu Feng yelled loudly, drawing his sword to confront Su Kexin, and the other Helong Hall members quickly joined in to block her.
Lin Nuo tried to seize the chance to escape. However, the spiritual power field that had once trapped him reappeared, and he couldn’t get away.
When did she learn that move?
In his past life, Lin Nuo wasn’t afraid of Su Kexin’s explosive state as long as he could run fast enough; he wasn’t trapped by any spiritual power field.
But here it was, and she was just a child but radiated an aura more intimidating than that of an adult.
He couldn’t break through this layer of spiritual power, nor could he stop Su Kexin’s explosive state.
There was no good solution.
Mu Feng couldn’t hold his own against Su Kexin either; after a few exchanges, he was shoved aside. Helong Hall was filled with weaklings who couldn’t even fend off a young protagonist—time to recruit a team.
Su Kexin broke past the crowd once again, locking her sights straight back on Lin Nuo.
Oh no, it looks like she’s here to cause me trouble.
Lin Nuo thought about how he hadn’t done anything wrong—just killed a few rogues and some Helong Hall members. Weren’t these knights supposed to deal with such things? How could they see him as a villain?
This doesn’t make sense.
Is this protagonist’s innate ability to target villains? She’s just a kid, and yet she holds such a grudge against me?
Lin Nuo gritted his teeth, seeing Su Kexin charging toward him. He couldn’t outrun her and had no choice but to confront her.
However, Mu Yiting beside him suddenly acted strangely, her earlier innocent look vanished. Now her purple eyes held an eerie glow, and she started levitating.
“What the…?”
Lin Nuo was stunned. What now? Did the Demon Realm princess also carry genes that ignite battle spirit when facing a formidable opponent?
You all have cheat codes, and I look like a fool!
“Hey, what’s wrong with you?”
Lin Nuo called to Mu Yiting, but got no response. She wore a blank expression, her gaze fixed on Su Kexin.
Suddenly, she snatched Lin Nuo’s small knife and charged at Su Kexin.
Su Kexin raised her sharp sword and swung down at Mu Yiting.
Bang! The two weapons clashed, releasing a powerful energy that illuminated the area, turning everything bright white.
Caught in that radiant glow, Lin Nuo lost all sense of direction as everything turned blindingly white.
Is this it? Am I gone?
He watched as his body grew faintly transparent, then shattered like glass, disintegrating from head to toe.
Well, seems like this is the end.
When the blinding light subsided, he found himself in a dark space, unable to see anything…
…
After a while, Lin Nuo’s eyes regained their light, revealing an unfamiliar ceiling above.
Where is this…? Did I just reincarnate? Or am I crossing over?
Lin Nuo was thoroughly confused, twisting and turning, feeling dizzy.
It shouldn’t be reincarnation since he had no memory of this place.
So had he crossed into another place?
He needed to explore where he was now. As he bent down, he discovered three girls sitting by his bed, as if watching over a critical patient, but they were all asleep.
Huh? Is it them? Have I returned again?
Lin Nuo pinched his cheek.
Alright, that was just a dream.
But was this dream a bit too realistic?
