Chapter 1065: The Soul Returns to the Past
In the shimmering ice chamber, young boys and girls frolicked joyfully, throwing all worldly troubles behind them.
Yet, joy cannot last forever; it must come to an end.
The girl’s moments of happiness stretched longer, and even though Lin Nuo was seasoned in battles, he couldn’t hold out until Qin Shili was fully satisfied; his own pleasure came to an abrupt halt instead.
Compared to before, he could last longer now. Unfortunately, Qin Shili’s desires were still stronger, and he couldn’t handle it completely.
He had to temporarily cease “combat.”
Lin Nuo detached himself from Qin Shili’s body and let out a long sigh.
“Is that it for you, Lin Nuo? I’m just getting started.”
Qin Shili climbed back onto Lin Nuo, her delicate hand gently tracing his face.
“Just taking a break for now,” Lin Nuo said indifferently.
“Heh, then you take your break; I’m not tired yet.”
With that, Qin Shili continued kissing and caressing Lin Nuo. Of course, without Lin Nuo’s cooperation, it was a one-sided affair and lacked a bit of charm.
Unsatisfied, she felt a bit irritated.
But what could she do? She couldn’t wear him out completely. After all, this was about sustainable development; she couldn’t expend everything at once.
“Lin Nuo, when will you be able to last longer?”
Qin Shili complained, kissing his cheek before leaning against his chest.
“Already an improvement from before,” Lin Nuo replied.
“But it’s still not enough. You’re supposed to be the supreme king, completely dominating me. Isn’t that easy for you?”
“That’s irrelevant…”
The physical differences between men and women were already substantial, not to mention that those seemingly abstinent types had strong desires hidden beneath the surface.
Just like those nuns in anime, they appear composed but have intense inner cravings.
Of course, this kind of depiction occurs more often in adult-oriented works; regular anime wouldn’t show such things.
And Qin Shili just fit that character archetype perfectly.
Compared to other girls, Lin Nuo believed Qin Shili had the strongest desires. However, she was gradually learning moderation, knowing when to slow down or pause. He recalled when she was entirely unrestrained; even if he finished, she would still insist on continuing—simply unbearable.
The two were increasingly in sync; unnecessary force was pointless. Waiting was still necessary.
“Lin Nuo, be honest, how does my body compare to those other women?”
Qin Shili’s bright eyes locked onto Lin Nuo, as if probing his very soul.
Answering poorly could lead to a fatal question. With her so close, if she got angry, she’d freeze him in an instant, leaving him a giant ice sculpture.
“Is it really that important?” Lin Nuo countered.
“Certainly! I’m trying to understand you and want to know what you really like. If you do, I’m willing to learn their ways to serve you; everything will revolve around your wishes.”
Qin Shili said with a light laugh, seemingly generous but hiding malice beneath. Lin Nuo could see through her ploy.
Whether to learn from them was another matter; first, she needed to find out which type he favored.
“You’re unique, the best version of yourself—no need to learn from others. I used to admire you most, so naturally, you are the best. I’m fulfilling my dream.”
“Oh, is that so? The you back then was just a façade. To be honest, I had no interest whatsoever in that version of you. You were quite skilled at portraying a version of yourself that left me utterly uninterested, only to eventually end up ensnared. The sense of defeat I felt was immense.”
“I’ve clarified multiple times that wasn’t an act.”
“Impossible. Those two were entirely different people. The person from before—you had no prowess, honestly speaking, among the Xuanyun Sect, you were just a low-level disciple. But now, you’re the supreme king, above all. Such a drastic change—if this isn’t an act, explain the reason? I suspect you might be hiding something.”
Qin Shili leaned in closer, her gaze unwavering, trying to peer into Lin Nuo’s eyes for the truth.
But unfortunately, she couldn’t discern anything through his dark eyes; there seemed to be an invisible rift that kept them apart.
“I’m not hiding anything from you,” Lin Nuo replied flatly.
“Really? Then how do you explain the stark contrast between the two of you? Not an act, yet entirely different?”
“You could think of it as my head being bumped.”
“Heh, what a dismissive answer. Do you still treat me like an outsider? Today we lie in the same bed, and in the future we’ll be husband and wife. This is something you agreed to, and I’m not making this up. So, do you still plan to distrust me?”
Qin Shili’s words were tinged with a hint of resentment, coldly reproaching his actions.
“I don’t distrust you. Let me ask: Do you believe a person’s soul can return to the past?” Lin Nuo posed a question.
“I do.”
“That’s too far-fetched; you don’t even question it?”
“What you say, I will definitely trust; I won’t doubt you because I believe in you.”
Qin Shili replied, and Lin Nuo sighed, not continuing with his earlier question.
He began to tell a story:
“Once, there was a boy who desperately wanted to become an immortal, but he turned out to be the worst disciple in his sect. He no longer wished to achieve immortality, yet he was forced out by the sect. He wanted to be a good person but ended up on the path of becoming a devil. In the end, he killed many people, and justice caught up with him, ultimately leading to his own death.”
As he paused for effect, he left Qin Shili in suspense.
“And then? What comes next?”
“Then, he was about to be reborn, stepping onto the path of reincarnation.”
“What does this have to do with your earlier claim about returning to the past?” Qin Shili pressed.
“What does it relate to? Well… you’re smart; you should be able to figure something out,” Lin Nuo replied lightly.
“Figure out what?”
Qin Shili pondered deeply. The first half of Lin Nuo’s story resonated with his own past.
He used to talk big but never measured his abilities, looked down upon by other disciples. As for the persecution by the sect, that never happened.
Could it be that the soul returning to the past meant?
“Are you implying that this boy was supposed to be reborn but instead, his soul returned to the past?” Qin Shili speculated.
“Think for yourself,” Lin Nuo chuckled.
“No matter how I think, without you revealing the answer, it’s all in vain. Tell me, Lin Nuo, is this the case? Is this boy you? Did your soul return to the past?”
The more Qin Shili spoke, the more anxious she became. If this were true, everything seemed to fall into place.
His sudden change in character, his newfound strength, and becoming the center of attention in the sect—these inexplicable oddities could now be explained through this theory.
But this theory was so bizarre: can a soul really return to the past after death?
