Could Viscount Field really be the leader of the Holy Communion? The mentor mentioned by Bill?

Dorothy hadn’t expected this. To be honest, she was also unwilling to believe that Viscount Field, a nobleman who genuinely engaged in charity every year, could be such a two-faced person.

Dorothy had indeed suspected Viscount Field before, such as his practice of adopting one child per year, the secret transmission songs sung by the children, and his return to Igewent six years ago, which coincided with Colif mentioning he encountered what he sought six years prior.

However, it wasn’t until she saw Bill rush directly to Viscount Field’s cabin after discovering something that Dorothy could basically confirm that Viscount Field was indeed the mentor of the Holy Communion.

“Sir, it’s almost over. It’s time for you to go on stage.”

After replying, Viscount Field finished the half cup of tea on the table and bid farewell to the two children before leaving. The cabin, accompanied by the butler, headed backstage. Seeing this, Dorothy thought:

‘Is the event ending? Too bad, I didn’t gather any useful information…’

Not long after, the last performance on stage concluded, and the host moved to the center again.

“Wonderful times always slip away quietly. Ladies and gentlemen, this beautiful moment has come to its final segment, the donation phase where you can showcase your love.”

“We follow tradition and invite our esteemed Viscount Field. He will adopt his seventh foster child from this year’s performers and start the donations! Please give a round of applause!”

Amidst enthusiastic applause, Viscount Field walked onto the stage with the butler’s support. Also on stage were the orphanage children who had performed earlier, all standing behind him.

“Firstly, I am deeply grateful for your presence once again. By the grace of the Holy Mother, we gather once more…”

Then, Viscount Field started with some polite formalities. Afterward, he turned around and began walking slowly among the many children, examining each one.

Finally, Viscount Field stopped in front of a little girl. Smiling, he asked her:

“Adorable lamb, what is your name?”

“My name is Anna, Your Excellency!”

Anna, suppressing her excitement, responded while holding her white dress. Viscount Field then smiled and took Anna’s hand, walking to the front amidst envious looks from the other children. At the same time, the audience erupted in thunderous applause.

Holding hands with Viscount Field, Anna’s face flushed with excitement as she waved at the audience with her other hand, her eyes looking toward Dorothy’s direction.

In the audience, Dorothy and others clapped and laughed together, but her heart felt heavy.

After the adoption segment, the donation phase followed immediately. Soon, under Viscount Field’s lead, everyone present generously donated. Dorothy followed the crowd and donated ten pounds.

Finally, Viscount Field gave a concluding speech, stating he would go to the Orphanage of Mercy the next day to pick up his seventh foster child, Anna. The host then excitedly announced the end of the charity event, marking the conclusion of the Igewent charity event for this year.

As the meeting dispersed, Dorothy left her seat immediately. To avoid Bill blocking the exit and smelling her scent, she climbed out through a nearby window on the first floor and made her way to her carriage.

Dorothy got on the carriage and released the crow doll to circle in the sky, monitoring the theater’s entrance. Shortly after, she spotted Viscount Field, supported by the butler, exiting the theater.

Next, she saw Viscount Field and the butler get onto a luxurious carriage pulled by three horses. They then drove forward, and Dorothy followed behind, tracking from the sky with the crow doll’s perspective.

The tracking went smoothly initially, but Dorothy soon noticed a problem.

The carriage she was riding was a single-horse carriage, while Viscount Field’s luxurious carriage was pulled by three horses, moving much faster!

‘Ah, this… The other carriage has more horsepower!’

Tracking required both sides to move at equal speeds. Viscount Field’s carriage was too advanced, and Dorothy’s ordinary carriage was gradually falling behind.

Finally, due to her slow-moving signal tower, she couldn’t continue tracking the carriage. All she could do was watch Viscount Field’s luxurious carriage drive north out of the city, heading towards the mountainous region north of Igewent.

Rumors said that Viscount Field’s mansion and several villas were located in the forest of the northern mountains of Igewent. He rarely invited people to his mansion, maintaining an air of mystery among the citizens of I City.

The tracking failed, and Dorothy stopped her carriage, leaning back in her seat and taking a deep breath. Then she began organizing her information, thinking:

“Sigh… Tomorrow is adoption day, perhaps it’s an opportunity… Looks like I need to send some flowers to my brother again.”
