“Arthur and Henry are clear. What about the next pair, Ronald and Yuki?”
Sharl looked at the summary sheet she had prepared, but it wasn’t very detailed.
“It’s a different class, so all I know is that Ronald uses a spear and is strong.”
“A spear, huh. He’s tall, so his reach must be incredible.”
He probably can use magic too; he might be similar to Ilmera who also uses a spear.
“Do you know Ronald?”
“Well, the other day, when we went hunting for alligators in the river, I met these two.”
They were fishing and hunting lizards.
“Alligator…?”
“It was huge. He killed it instantly.”
Michelle pointed at me while explaining to Sharl.
“You seem like someone who might fight a lion next.”
“Is there even an Astral near here?”
“There’s no lion. But there is a tiger though.”
Is there really a tiger?
“Anyway, it’s fine. The other day when I met them, they seemed strong enough. But I haven’t seen them in actual combat, so I don’t know.”
“That’s true… Personally, Yuki seems unsettling. She keeps her eyes closed, right? She’s definitely strong.”
Well, I sort of understand her point.
“I think we’re somewhat lucky with this pair,” Chloe interrupted again.
“Why?”
“The group they are in will face the young ladies before facing Toko and Yuika. So, if we watch there, that would be good enough, wouldn’t it?”
When we checked the competition schedule, there was indeed a match between these two groups on Monday at noon during the first round.
“Truly… If we confirm here, it’ll be fine. Let’s hope Toko and her team don’t execute an instant kill.”
They’re an aggressive duo…
They might charge into battle right from the start.
“Isn’t this kid White River Japanese too? Do you know anything about her?”
Michelle asked me.
“Oh, I did hear from Father. She can create temporary swords and shields with magic using her magic power.”
“Materialization magic, right? It’s an advanced magic but pretty old school.”

“Also, I heard from Yuki that Ronald and Yuki are cousins. By the way, the White River family is said to be struggling.”
“I knew White River became the head at a young age, but I didn’t know they were struggling. That’s surprising. Cousins, huh? There might be some coordination, so watch out.”
It makes sense, they seemed to get along well.
“Well, we’ll see in the first battle of the day.”
Mentioning materialization magic feels vague anyway.
“How about that. Finally, Toko and Yuika’s group, right? You know them best, don’t you?”
Sharl showed me the summary of the last pair.
“Hmm, it’s sister Toko and Yuika. I’ve fought Yuika in practice.”
“I fought Toko as well. Her magic speed, martial arts… everything is top-notch. She’s truly a genius.”
“That’s correct. Yuika uses speed to disrupt and attacks with dual swords. Both their weaknesses are clear: they have poor defense and absolutely no coordination.”
“Those two only focus on how to take down the opponent the fastest.”
“They’re scary, aren’t they?”
“Young Lady, keep your distance and under no circumstances approach them. They’ll instantly kill you.”
“That’s true. I suggest using any transfer magic or anything to run as much as possible. Those two are high-power magic users but will likely come for you first.”
Michelle, don’t say it…
“In fact, not just those two, everyone will probably be like that.”
Yeah…
“Things are about here, right? Should we do some training?”
“Sure… What specifically?”

“Young Lady, leave it to Chloe. I have a wonderful training plan in mind.”

Sharl said that while standing up and leaving the living room.

“We’ll meet Tsukasa and Michelle at the lake. Please prepare and come over as well.”
“Am I coming too?”
“You’re Tsukasa’s bodyguard, aren’t you?”
The maid surprisingly knows the situation.
“Still, isn’t siding with one team problematic…?”
“It’s too late now. You’ve already drunk the barley tea, meaning you’ve accepted the bribe.”

“Don’t hesitate, just get prepared. And you, Tsukasa, please come along too.”
Urged by Chloe, we left the house. Once we were home, we changed into sports gear, prepared, and went to the dormitory.
When we got there, Frank and Cedric were in the break room.
“Hey, are you guys not going to do any practice?”
I approached and greeted the duo in the break room.
“Hey. We were going to, but it’s not happening. The practice field is booked.”
“The academy is pushing things too quickly. We’ll likely practice after school or at night.”
The practice field’s really not available then?
“Who are you up against? Can you win?”
“We can take two for sure, but I don’t know about the other one. Besides, Cedric isn’t that motivated, so we’ll just wing it.”
To say you can win two is impressive enough.
“Isn’t your team weaker? Ultimately, it’s Tsukasa who is doing all the work. Didn’t the president team up with you? Did the teacher decide that?”
“No, we just paired up.”
“Nice move… So? Can you beat Toko and Yuika?”
“Unsure. We’re going to train at the lake right now.”
“I see. Well, you’re both in D-class, so we can’t openly cheer, but we’ll secretly support you. After all, you’re the last ones to perform.”
“You too saw it, didn’t you? Moreover, on the first day, you’re up against Arthur and Henry, right? In a way, you’re a pretty strong seed, so there’s going to be a lot of attention.”
“Watch out. Those two are strong, and though not as bad as Matthias, they’re the lineage types.”
“Even worse, you’re up against Sharl, who is the queen of lineage types within your class.”
And it’s a girl from the same class.

“Even those two must not have anticipated that the President would team up with D-class students, right?”
Both of them laughed.
“Whoever it is, it makes no difference. We’ll crush them.”
“Good luck.”
“Work hard on the training too.”
“Alright, see you later.”
I left the place and headed towards the lake.
