Chapter 113: The Thunderous Might of the Divine Reveals the Truth
Underneath the tiger-striped cat suit, Anna was in so much pain that tears were about to fall.
She couldn’t help but tightly grip Maly’s hand, looking at her with tear-filled eyes.
But Maly was quite intelligent and could tell that it was the second princess who had made the first move.
She pretended not to see and led Anna away by her claw.
The second princess glared fiercely at Dark, but encountered Angie’s gleeful look instead.
…
The song ended.
Dark released Angie’s claw and performed a standard noble greeting before preparing to descend from the stage.
However, Angie suddenly grabbed his hand and whispered, “Next year, Anna and I will also enroll.”
Dark’s mind stirred, and he congratulated her early, “Congratulations.”
Angie then giggled and withdrew her hand.
Dark finally descended from the stage.
But he thought to himself: If these two troublemakers were to enroll, what a disaster it would be?
…
Dark was quickly taken away by Diana as soon as he stepped off the stage.
The night prince and the night princess finally held hands during the second song.
Diana’s dancing steps were still not very proficient, so Dark guided her hand-in-hand.
Following that, for the third and fourth songs, they stayed together.
Diana smiled throughout, occasionally glancing toward the professor’s seats.
Most professors did not step onto the dance floor.
Beside Professor Lily, who was sprawled on the table, Anna and Angie, having removed their headgear, were tearing at each other.
Princess Elisa was whispering something to the principal on the other side.
The masquerade ball was still lively.
Yet, Saint Marian’s Castle did not seem to return to its usual calm.
…
In the infirmary at this moment.
Wit Gold, under Sister Carrian’s treatment, finally “awoke.” Seeing himself restored in the mirror, he couldn’t help but cry out in joy.
“Instead of standing around, why don’t you help? Such a great Halloween ball!”
Sister Carrian muttered some words that should not come from a nun, quickly mixing the antidote for the spirit-loss potion.
Wit blushed and was about to help when he was called out by Professor Shylph.
Facing Professor Shylph’s scrutiny, Wit reluctantly recounted everything that happened after he was attacked in the secret passage.
Professor Shylph listened carefully, cross-referencing with what Dark had said, confirming that neither had lied.
Then she took the mental check report on the sect members from Sister Carrian’s hands, understanding everything at once.
The whole situation was not complicated.
Someone had done something with the statue of the Moon Goddess.
She might not be the Initiator, but she was definitely the Promoter.
And most participants, including the Moon Goddess, were merely pawns in her hands.
Within Saint Marian’s Castle, only the current professors could have carried out such operations.
And the professors not in the banquet hall at midnight were only Professors Kazel and Didi.
Considering those two’s past, Professor Shylph sighed slightly: “No wonder I always felt something was wrong when patrolling with Didi a few nights ago.”
A little imp-like elemental floated on her shoulder, and Principal Altair’s voice came from it: “Take Wit with us, we’re going to the Spiral Bell Tower.”
But Professor Shylph hadn’t moved yet.
Suddenly, a huge explosion erupted from the direction of the Spiral Bell Tower!
…
“Boom!”
A golden lightning almost tore through the night sky, plummeting down.
Suddenly, there was a thunderclap atop the Spiral Bell Tower!
The magic power inside the castle was disrupted, and the magical lights in the first-floor banquet hall went out instantly.
The melody of the ball stopped abruptly.
Students, originally immersed in the joyful atmosphere, were startled by this sudden series of events.
Younger students couldn’t help but scream.
Darkness and chaos swept over.
Some students hurriedly pulled out magic cards, but the wrongly summoned golems further exacerbated the chaos.
Dark felt a moment of tension but quickly calmed down.
He confirmed his direction in the darkness, his gaze fixed on the source of the thunder.
Diana immediately crawled onto him at the first moment, but Dark wasn’t sure if Diana was truly afraid.
…
“Ding ding ding.”
A clear wind chime sound rang in the air.
Giant wind chimes emitting a faint yellow glow flew to every corner of the banquet hall.
The banquet hall regained its light.
Dark patted Diana’s shoulder; she then lifted her head with a puzzled expression, saying, “It’s dawn?”
“Bright your head!”
Dark tapped her forehead and pushed her away, then whispered, “I have something to do.”
Before Diana could react, he had already blended into the crowd and disappeared in an instant.
…
Another electric arc flashed outside the banquet hall window, but it was far less shocking than the first time.
Dark clouds suddenly appeared, blocking the moonlight, and heavy rain poured down over Saint Marian.
Dark arrived at the castle entrance, glanced at the Night Prince outfit on his body, and swiftly drew out the “Changing Card,” switching to the “Night Costume Mask Set.”
With a high hat on, he lowered his head and rushed into the rain.
This rain came extremely fast and unusually.
Through the continuous rain, one could see the bright glow emanating from the top of the Spiral Bell Tower.
Dark confirmed the source of the first thunderclap and immediately drew out the Selection Card, summoning his familiar.
The small demon beast, still in the form of a demoness beast, deliberately clung to Dark’s back, whispering softly in his ear.
Dark ignored her: “Take me up!”
The demoness beast’s expression turned serious, and she immediately hugged him: “Alright, master.”
Thus, one person and one familiar flew toward the top of the Spiral Bell Tower amidst the torrential rain.
On the other side,
Professor Shylph, transformed into the wind, was faster!
Wit, who had just climbed onto the back of the sphinx-like creature with her, saw Professor Shylph already appear at the top of the Spiral Bell Tower.
Not long after, Dark finally flew to the top with the help of the demoness beast.
Professor Shylph didn’t even glance at him, immediately recognizing him: “Demon, stay away!”
Dark’s heart tightened, and his gaze swept across the top of the tower.
There, Professor Kazel was kneeling on one knee, surrounded by eight shields, with a snow-white feathered golden-eyed beast above him, emitting a sharp, long cry.
The magic elemental, originally the size of a kitten, now transformed into a lion’s size, its white wings spread wide, its eyes radiating golden light.
Opposite Professor Kazel, a little imp-like elemental, similar in height, was holding a magic wand, with butterfly wings rapidly flapping behind it.
Dark had read about it in books—it was the old-era magic wand known as “Thunderous Might of the Divine,” which stood alongside “Divine Fire”!
…
“Boom!”
Another flash of lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the face of the little imp.
Though somewhat youthful, her delicate features spoke volumes of her beauty.
