Chapter 118: You Will No Longer Be Human
“Well, Gaia, you really do look super cool right now.”
“Thanks, Ailin, you’re looking beautiful too! By the way, what are you doing just standing here? Didn’t we agree to go greet the guests together?”
Gaia glanced at the evening dress he had prepared for her and couldn’t help but admit that Ailin’s charm was just as captivating and heart-fluttering as ever.
“Eh? Do I really have to greet guests? It feels like such a bother.”
“But everyone wants to see you! It would be rude if you didn’t go.”
“Um… since everyone wants to meet me, I guess I’ll go say hi to them.”
Ailin linked her arm with Gaia’s, and together they left the venue, heading towards the main entrance to greet the guests.
As they walked away, she didn’t forget to cheerfully say to Yaser, wishing them to enjoy the Celebration Feast.
“Now it’s just the two of us. Where did Aierjisi and the others run off to? Leaving me all alone here isn’t fun at all.”
With Ailin gone and Aierjisi mysteriously taken elsewhere, only he and Yaser remained in the venue.
“Lady, it’s not just you. I’m still here beside you.”
Yaser chimed in, reminding Weirafiya not to overlook his presence.
“I know you’re here! Sigh, that’s not the point. Yaser, can you find a quiet corner to take me to? I really need a good rest. Walking in these high heels I’m not used to has tired me out.”
“Sure, my lady, I’ll find you a less crowded spot right away. But speaking of which, weren’t you flying a moment ago? Isn’t your discomfort in those high heels unrelated?”
“You’re being annoying; stop focusing on such details.”
“Understood.”

“Are you two ever going to stop? How long has it been? I still have to wait to go back. Can’t you just shut your mouths?”
Aierjisi looked at Carl and Yake, who were lecturing her right in front of her.
Being dragged into this room by them and lectured had already taken around 15 minutes, and it seemed they had no intention of stopping. Seriously, even if they weren’t annoyed, she was!
“Isn’t it because of you, Aier? At least be mindful of your image in public! If you were more careful, we wouldn’t be lecturing you this long.”
“Exactly! Aierjisi, this habit of yours really needs to change, you know?”
For some reason, Aierjisi suddenly felt that the bond between these two might be closer than she expected.
At least, they were surprisingly consistent when it came to lecturing her!
She’d initially worried whether Father King would be displeased with Yake, her potential fiancé. Turns out, she was just overthinking it.
“Okay, okay, I got it! So, can you two let me up now? My legs are going numb!”
Since being confined in this room, they had made her kneel on the floor to express contrition and admit her mistakes. Now, her legs were almost completely numb.
Honestly, even if she was part of the Blood Clan, she shouldn’t be treated this way! Do they even know how troublesome it is when your legs go numb?
“Carl, do you think we can let her up?”
“Do you think we should?”
“I think we need to give her some more time. How about another 15 minutes of kneeling?”
“I think that sounds good. Let her kneel for half an hour so she really remembers this lesson and corrects her future shortcomings.”
“Ouch, you two are just…”
Hearing their inhumane suggestions, Aierjisi felt like jumping up and giving them both a beating. Unfortunately, she knew she couldn’t take on one without the other retaliating, so she had to abandon that thought.
“What do you mean, ‘just…’? Say it!”
“Never mind, I’ll keep my mouth shut.”
After pondering for a moment, Aierjisi held back her true feelings [I may not be human, but you two are definitely like dogs] deep down.
“Just keep kneeling there for now. I have some things to discuss with your servant. Come on, let’s step outside, Aierjisi, don’t even think about standing up for a break. Don’t think I’m unaware of your sneaky little movements.”
After giving his daughter that warning, Carl dragged Yake out of the room and into the hallway.
“I have a few questions for you, and I hope you can answer truthfully.”
“Sure, go ahead. I will do my best to answer.”
Maybe because they had just teamed up to lecture that willful Little Princess, their relationship had become less distant.
“You’ve signed a contract with my daughter, right?”
“Yes.”
“And through that contract, she’s shared her life with you, right?”
“Yes.”
“Then it seems there are no issues.”
With both questions answered affirmatively, Carl had a rough idea of what was going on.
“What do you mean, ‘no issues’? What’s that supposed to mean?”
Yake felt a bit curious about what Carl wanted from him with these questions.
“I need to tell you something that might not be good news for you. First, how much do you know about that contract?”
“The contract’s details? Hmm… It’s basically that we share any harm we suffer. If one of us gets hurt, the other does too. If one dies, the other will also die. And, um… Aier can command me through the contract, communicate, or see my thoughts. That’s about it.”
“Is that all you know? She didn’t tell you the entire content of the contract?”
“No. What’s wrong? Is there more to it?”
“There is, and it probably isn’t good news for you.”
“Not good news?”
Upon hearing Carl say that, Yake instantly panicked. Could there be something in this contract that would trap him? Not that there was much beneficial for him in the first place!
“I mentioned before that you carry the scent of our Blood Clan.”
“Ah, I remember that. What’s up with it?”
“So, what I’m about to tell you might sound serious, so please don’t panic. Prepare yourself.”
With Carl’s tone suggesting something severe was coming, Yake couldn’t help but feel increasingly tense, swallowing hard.
“Based on the contract between you and Aierjisi, the longer you maintain this contract, the further you drift from humanity. Eventually, because of this contract, you might end up becoming a Blood Clan member yourself.”
