Chapter 121: The Glittering Dragon.
Investigator Jié Jié just happened to see a signal flare and the hurried investigators gathering aboard the Starship. Things seemed urgent—how could he not take a peek?
An unremarkable flying bird soared over the mountain, seamlessly transforming into a Fire Dragon in the uninhabited forest before taking flight again.
With a few flaps of its broad wings, it crossed the mountainous forest that would take investigators hours to circumnavigate. It saw the tracks carved by a giant skirt on the ground, as well as the owner of said colossal skirt.
The golden skirt shimmered brilliantly under the sunlight, looking like a moving Golden Mountain piled on the ground from above.
Just one glance was enough for Jié Jié to recognize her—the future-named Glittering Dragon, an ancient dragon species.
Also known as the Golden Land’s Dì Mǔ Shén, she possessed the ability to manipulate thermal energy and release high temperatures.
He flew over the golden peak and reached the side of the Glittering Dragon’s airspace, finally getting a glimpse of the true face atop the golden summit.
The dazzling and majestic four spiral giant horns resembled a crown forged from molten gold, growing atop her head. Threads of pure gold outlined her black dragon face.
One could also see green garnets and red gems adorning her skull, adding a touch of opulence.
Ordinary gold is often labeled as vulgar, but the beauty draped in gold under the sun could only be described as dazzlingly magnificent.
Beauty, power, money, and the authority to construct ecosystems—all were present.
Jié Jié’s saliva dripped onto the ground as he dumbly met the Glittering Dragon’s curious gaze tilting her head in confusion.
She looked… a little confused?
How adorable!
Jié Jié’s flapping wings faltered slightly, relying on the wind to keep him aloft without appearing too disheveled.
The Glittering Dragon merely glanced at him with confusion before shifting her attention elsewhere.
As she strolled, she seemed perpetually curious about her surroundings.
The Glittering Dragon had long lived in the “Golden Land,” a nest she constructed herself, truly a homebody who rarely ventured out.
Jié Jié thought this while feeling wave after wave of rising hot air currents.
This was the natural heatwave generated by the Glittering Dragon, perhaps due to the immense heat accumulated during her underground magma cave drilling process that hadn’t dissipated yet?
Such heatwaves are beneficial rising currents for Fire Dragons but disastrous for forests—an extremely targeted calamity.
This was the price of having a monster that shouldn’t exist here appear. Ordinary monsters adapt to their ecosystem, producing subspecies.
But ancient dragons usually make the ecosystem adapt to them, altering it to fit their domain.
In the short term, broken trees turn to ash in the heatwave, potentially benefiting the next ecological cycle of the forest, much like lush woods around volcanoes.
But if it persists, oases will turn into deserts.
For tropical climate forests, that was far off, but it didn’t stop Jié Jié from comparing himself to the Golden Mountain before him.
Saying his actions were like a mantis trying to stop a cart would be an exaggeration—but definitely not something to mess with easily.
Should he try?
Yes! He hasn’t faced an Ultra-Large Monster yet!
The seasoned Male Fire Dragon roared and initiated a dive toward the mountain-like Glittering Dragon.
The primary target, of course, were those stylishly huge curled horns.
Sharp claws swiped across the horn, leaving only a scratch on the gold encasing the horn.
At this point, the Glittering Dragon’s gold had yet to cool and harden, feeling warm and stress-relieving when touched, making him want to do it again.
Faced with the fire dragon right above her, the Glittering Dragon began shaking her head.
Even such a simple action felt like an earthquake, with the massive curled horns swinging like hammers, smashing into the charging fire dragon’s claws.
“Hiss.”
The intense pain made him ascend higher, one claw painfully struck, the joint bent backward.
The immense strength capable of dragging a body like a Golden Mountain was undeniable. After simply throwing him off, the Glittering Dragon resumed her forward movement.
Large Monster battles often focus on wrestling. How could Jié Jié wrestle with a Glittering Dragon three times his size?
If his fists weren’t big enough, then it was time to pull out his knife.
Thus, the Slaying Dragon clad in a mountain of knives and sword spines plummeted from the sky, heavily landing on the Glittering Dragon’s molten back, leaving a crease on her luxurious skirt.
Neither the heatwave nor the high temperature affected the Slaying Dragon, whose body was like steel forged armor. Instead, Jié Jié lost balance due to the turbulence on her back and rolled off.
Fortunately,
He quickly stabilized himself on the ground, taking advantage of the Glittering Dragon’s momentary lack of reaction.
The large gash on the sword tail, now repaired, swung along with Jié Jié’s steps, tearing at the Glittering Dragon’s skirt.
Gold in a molten state wasn’t a hard mineral; it was easily pierced by the sharp sword tail, separating chunks from her overall form.
Apparently, the previous impact had hurt her. Her upper body lowered slightly before raising again, turning her head to look behind her, catching sight of the Slaying Dragon destroying her skirt.
“Grunt Roar~”
The irritated dragon roar reached Jié Jié’s ears, sounding like a noblewoman’s coquettish complaint, encouraging him to continue.
Then,
Continue!
The sword tail carved a long streak as he ran, followed by a vertical slash.
When the large chunk of scorching molten gold finally detached from her skirt, she retaliated.
The heavy skirt was raised high by her supporting tail, her body slightly turned, and she swept it forcefully towards Jié Jié’s position.
It was as though mountains were flattened under such power, and the impressive display overshadowed the exposed scenery beneath her skirt.
Jié Jié barely caught a glimpse before being flung away, pushed by her motion until he ended up behind her foreclaws, experiencing dull pain on his side.
Fortunately, he wasn’t knocked down, merely shaken.
His raised sword tail narrowly missed her arm as it swatted backward, cutting through the clothing behind her arm before piercing toward her chest.
The overlapping gold covering her chest was pierced and fell, but the blade was stopped by the padding.
The front half of the Glittering Dragon rose high afterward, the overlapping gold hanging from her chest swaying temptingly.
Then, following the force of desire, the tempting structure pressed down passionately, accompanied by an unbearable weight.
Was he happy? Moved?
Jié Jié only knew he was pressed flat on the ground, unable to move.
As for damage, thanks to the soft layer of gold “padding,” it wasn’t particularly terrifying.
When the Glittering Dragon lifted her body to lower her head and check the situation, Jié Jié was finally freed from the passion and instantly leapt aside.
Then, he saw the fiery battlefield that had turned the land into a hot spring.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
