Chapter 1245: A Night for Two
“We’ve become fugitives.”
Lin Nuo grumbled as they finally found a place to stay, a small village that had yet to be touched by the Handa Alliance.
“I think it’s pretty good.”
“What do you think is good about it?”
Lin Nuo was puzzled, wondering if his companion was some sort of masochist who liked being wanted.
“Because you’ve experienced being a fugitive before, so I’m experiencing it with you, feeling your past.”
“There’s nothing good to feel about this.”
“Just stick with me, and everything will be fine. You’ll handle the fugitive situation with ease.”
“Enough! I just want to get out of this damn place. This fugitive nonsense never ends. And what even is this village? We’re from the human realm and not exactly welcomed here. Let’s gear up first.”
Lin Nuo pulled out two outfits, the kind commonly worn by people in this realm, complete with hoods to hide their hair.
“It has a vibe of a couples’ outfit.”
They had bought matching clothes; Qin Shili wore a dress, while Lin Nuo wore a shirt with pants.
Many demons walked on two legs like humans, so their clothing styles were somewhat similar to those of the human realm.
Once dressed, it seemed they didn’t look like they came from the human realm anymore.
The village was full of farmers working the fields, their rhythm of life resembling that of humans—unarmed while doing farm work, while those with power were off as soldiers or cultivating.
“It’s been a while since we had guests. Welcome, young demons, to our village!”
As they walked into the village, a returning demon greeted Lin Nuo and Qin Shili.
“Hello, is there somewhere to stay here?”
Lin Nuo inquired, knowing that upon arriving at a new place, the first thing to sort out was food and lodging.
He tried to mimic the speech and body language of the local demons to fit in; if he stood out too much, he might get reported. Then they’d find out they were fugitives and haul them off.
“There’s an inn inside, but it’s rare for outsiders to come; it’s almost going out of business and the conditions are a bit poor, so don’t mind it.”
“That’s fine, thank you.”
After thanking the kind demon, Lin Nuo took Qin Shili inside to find the inn. They had acquired quite a bit of demon currency from hunters, which would last them a while.
Getting a room went smoothly; the villagers had already taken them for a married couple and gave them a couples’ room to share.
Before they knew it, night was falling. Days here seemed shorter than his time in the human realm, and it wasn’t even winter; perhaps it was just the natural time regulation of this world.
“Let’s go enjoy a bath together; they have a shared bath for couples.”
“I prefer to bathe alone.”
“Together! I’m scared; I can’t do without you.”
Qin Shili grabbed Lin Nuo’s hand and took him to the bath. Bathing and washing up together was how affectionate couples should behave, and sleeping together was a given.
Mainly, Qin Shili’s desires were quite strong, and her figure was enticing. Spending too much time with her might be overwhelming.
However, if they didn’t bathe together, she’d nag him when it came time to sleep; her bedtime chatter was quite formidable—she could talk him to death in one night.
“I’ll help you wash.”
“No need.”
“Yes, you do.”
Without hesitation, Qin Shili grabbed a towel and started to wipe Lin Nuo down, all casual like an old married couple without a hint of shyness.
Washing meant washing everything; there were no sensitive areas between them.
“You wash me too,” Qin Shili requested.
“We’ll wash ourselves.”
“They think we’re married already, and in reality, we could actually get married. What are you worried about? Isn’t this normal? Or do you think I’m not good enough?”
“I’m just not used to it.”
Lin Nuo was quite stubborn; though in his youth he might have fantasized about washing a beautiful girl, he no longer had such desires.
“I’ve already helped you a lot. You should help me out too—it’s only fair, you know? Even if I don’t wash you, you still owe me a favor.”
Qin Shili was insistent—no matter what, if she helped him, he had to return the favor.
“Fine.”
Unable to beat her stubbornness, Lin Nuo finally took up the towel and began to wipe her down.
Qin Shili’s requests were rather outrageous—she particularly wanted him to wash her ***, which excited her.
When it came to being scandalous, Qin Shili was a master; none of the other girls he interacted with came close to her level of lewdness.
Not to mention, her face and figure were naturally alluring, testing his resolve.
If Lin Nuo hadn’t insisted on refusing, she might have even suggested cultivating dual practice while bathing.
After finishing the wash, they hurried back to their room, and once inside, Qin Shili tossed off her towel and hugged Lin Nuo tightly.
“It was inconvenient to do this during the bath, but now it’s all good, right? There are only the two of us in this room—we should engage in some activities, don’t you think, my dear Lin Nuo?”
Qin Shili’s fingertip softly brushed Lin Nuo’s lips, and she blew a breath of fairy-like energy in his ear, causing an itch in his heart.
“Don’t get cocky.”
“Then you want me to be humble? I’ll be watching.”
“Fine.”
Lin Nuo scooped up Qin Shili and tossed her onto the bed, and the two began to entwine.
……
……
In the middle of the night, the sounds of crickets and frogs from outside created a peace that was almost surreal.
They lay in bed, holding each other’s hands, unsure of what the next night would hold. It seemed calm, but the confusion of escaping swirled inside their hearts in the stillness of the night.
“Lin Nuo, this village is quite nice. Why don’t we settle down here?”
Qin Shili still hadn’t given up on the idea of hiding out in this realm, but Lin Nuo rejected it again.
“Seeking temporary peace, we would ultimately perish in our own comfort. The Handa Alliance occupying this realm is just a matter of time; we can’t escape.”
“Really? Is there no place in this realm where they couldn’t find us? Besides, they won’t scour every inch. We can provide materials they need, and they won’t bother us.”
“Qin Shili, why do you suddenly crave stability?”
“Because after returning, I have to share you with them. If we stay here, you’ll only belong to me.”
Qin Shili made it clear; her intentions were simple—she wanted to monopolize Lin Nuo.
Of course, Lin Nuo wouldn’t agree.
He had made promises to the others; he had to honor them.
He fell silent, but Qin Shili understood, letting out a sigh:
“Alright, I won’t bring it up again. Just choose what you wish. At least for now, you belong to me, so please indulge me a bit, and I’ll reciprocate. This is our special memory.”
“I’ve always indulged you.”
Lin Nuo replied casually. While it had been nice to share heart-to-heart conversations in this tranquil atmosphere, an unexpected fire broke out in the village, accompanied by various tragic cries.
“What’s going on outside?”
The two quickly got up, knowing something had happened in the village.
