Chapter 129

Chapter 129: Two Cats.

The dual blades bit into the Slaying Dragon’s tail, their hook-like structures locking onto the undulating carapace, sparks of Flame Light scattering everywhere.

His arms vibrated from the impact, the counterforce traveling through his arms and spreading throughout his body, yet he skillfully adjusted it to maintain his Balance.

Meanwhile, with the other hand, he strained and advanced his blade forward.

His arms became like legs, and the twin blades transformed into feet.

He sprinted across the Slaying Dragon’s back, his sharp “feet” colliding with the monster’s shell. Speed was all that mattered!

The hunter wielding dual blades soared over the Mountain of Knives and Sword Spines, landing gracefully on the ground right in front of the Slaying Dragon.

“Master, your back-scratching service needs some work.”

The Slaying Dragon’s shell on its back was exceptionally hard; Jié Jié didn’t even feel pain. However, the dual blades in the swordsman’s hands already showed signs of dullness from the strikes.

A bite came rushing in.

The swordsman countered with his dual blades, deflecting the attack and getting repelled instead of being bitten.

One crucial Skill for a hunter is knowing how to get flung away to create distance between oneself and the Monster. Even if it means falling, it’s better than being bitten or trampled—certain death.

Jié Jié didn’t Chase the recovering swordsman but slightly turned his head, swinging the Sword Tail toward the female hunter who was hacking at his tail.

She dodged by lowering her stance, but no matter.

Spinning his steps, the departing Sword Tail whipped back low to the ground, not giving her a chance to duck.

Seeing the Sword Tail sweeping towards her, the hunter could only block with her Katana, getting swept away and rolling several times in the air before landing and regripping her weapon to charge again.

By this time, the swordsman had stabilized himself, advancing swiftly and striking repeatedly under the chin where the faceplate did not cover.

Jié Jié spun around, entangling in battle with the two hunters. It wasn’t about holding back anymore—it was simply difficult for the hunters’ small bodies to accurately hit such a massive creature.

The female hunter leaped off the protrusions on his shell from above, descending with a powerful slash.

“Bang!”

It wasn’t the sound of flesh parting; instead, just a piece of the fiery-looking shell broke off, not even drawing blood.

And now Jié Jié was surrounded from all sides—front, back, and even sideways by a gunner continuously Shooting.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Something sparking landed on his face, causing no harm but interfering with his line of sight.

“Boom!”

Two seconds later, it exploded on his face with dazzling flames, the blast creating cracks in his faceplate and leaving him dizzy.

It was an armor-piercing grenade.

Since he had been planning to focus on one target anyway, his first priority became the heavy crossbow that seemed capable of only Crouching Fire.

The muscular thighs of the beast-dragon took large strides. The Sword Tail swung back, forcing the two close-range hunters to retreat before cleaving toward the crouching gunner.

The gunner, despite looking cumbersome while supporting the heavy crossbow, slid nimbly out of the way.

Double slashes!

Sliding left and right, the gunner narrowly avoided the vertical slashes once more.

Horizontal smack!

Before he could catch his breath, the massive Sword Tail, like a wall, came smashing horizontally, directly sending him flying.

The Sword Tail retracted slightly, aided by swift footwork, spinning fiercely and knocking the swordsman back.

Jié Jié jumped, the Sword Tail flipping mid-air as it descended toward the fallen gunner.

The gunner barely managed to block with the steel crossbow, getting slammed into the ground.

Still breathing, though likely unable to stand up for a while. Probably exhausted.

“One cat down, two cats left.”

The Slaying Dragon growled but refrained from finishing the blow, allowing the investigators to seize the opportunity and drag the gunner away.

No cart, no Ailu Cat, just manpower.

Jié Jié’s gaze shifted to the remaining two enemies—no, three…

This time, the Master Swordsman joined the fray, wielding his Katana. He used Observation Slash to dodge a stomp, slashing repeatedly at the leg armor.

From afar, the Team Leader and the Dragon People Tribe hunter watched silently.

Four hunters were now engaged in battle. Adding more might lead to unfortunate accidents.

Also, it was a sign of distrust towards the Master Swordsman.

But this Slaying Dragon was special.

In the center of the battlefield, Jié Jié moved like the wind, stepping lightly and jumping backward with grace, using Wind Pressure to create distance before delivering a swift slash.

Caught in the Wind Pressure, the swordsman was once again sent flying, but quickly returned like a tenacious dog.

Looking at the heavy crossbow hunter being tended to in the forest, this dual-blade hunter hadn’t inflicted significant damage but demonstrated top-tier survival skills.

Facing a sweeping slash, the Master Swordsman chose to lower his stance and slide aside. His blade stood tall, pressing backward after colliding with the Slaying Dragon, slicing cleanly along the edge of its Sword Tail.

The two poisoned blades clashed, black poison dripping onto the swordsman’s armor.

From Jié Jié’s side, a serrated greatsword thrust forward as the female hunter stepped on his lowered chin to leap upward.

The blade fell, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze.

Unexpectedly, the Slaying Dragon moved rapidly within the frozen air, lunging forward with its head.

Like being hit by a heavy train, the female hunter flew away, tumbling on the ground and struggling to rise.

A splash of vibrant color filled the air—that was the life dust scattered by the swordsman, entering her lungs with each breath, restoring her strength.

“Ah, too hasty,” sighed the Master Swordsman. His Katana moved like rowing a boat, using the counterforce to propel himself backward.

The blade spun in the air, performing a horizontal sweep. The tip drew a straight line, instantly cutting into the Slaying Dragon’s leg with precision.

Not a grand move, but a concentrated burst of power condensed into a single stroke that pierced the dragon’s thick shell, drawing a streak of blood.

The first drop of blood.

Landing, sheathing his blade, and staring ahead.

The outline of the Slaying Dragon’s eyebrows twitched slightly. Jié Jié ignored the Master Swordsman pretending to be injured and opened his ferocious mouth.

Instead of the familiar magma chunks, a faintly outlined wind ball emerged from the Slaying Dragon’s mouth.

The wind ball struck the female hunter who had just recovered some stamina, mercilessly unleashing a storm that swept her out of the battlefield.

“Two cats left.”

Jié Jié growled.

The Master Swordsman ended his Iaijutsu stance without achieving his goal and began expanding the wound on the Slaying Dragon’s leg.

Pieces of the shell detached amidst showers of sparks.

Finally, the swordsman approached again, his dual blades striking the Slaying Dragon, producing a string of sparks. The blades quickly dulled, and his arms grew numb with pain.

Ignoring the continuous output from the dual-blade warrior, Jié Jié focused entirely on the Master Swordsman.

Swinging the Sword Tail, he attacked with a Kasaya Slash while simultaneously pulling away.

As expected, the Master Swordsman lightly evaded the strike.

If the Master Swordsman with the Great Sword was a powerful attacker with wide-ranging moves, then with the Katana, he was a light-footed swordsman.

Each of Jié Jié’s attacks merely grazed the edges of his clothing, never truly hitting him.

But as the battle progressed, his movements grew bolder, confident in his ability to harm the legendary hunter before him.
