Chapter 13: The Dangerous Fellow Appears
“Tsk, it seems we really underestimated them so far. I never thought they would cause us so much loss.”
Looking at the loss report submitted by my subordinates, Gilbaris’s face was turning green with anger. The enemy hadn’t even sent 20 people, yet they inflicted 28% damage on our base.
This surprise attack on our base leading to such a serious loss was truly a slap in the face of the Ultimate Life Forms. I just wanted to rush back and teach those ungrateful fools a lesson. But thoughts aside, there were more important matters at hand.
“Forget it. Let’s fix the base first before thinking about what to do next.”
Putting aside the massive damage to the base for a moment, all three of us—Diablo, Titan, and I—had sustained varying degrees of injury and would need some recovery time. As much as it frustrated me, I had no choice but to let those three act for now.
“Gilbaris, how about letting me out? I can still take them on in my current state.”
Diablo just couldn’t swallow this grievance. He bravely went out to fight, only to return covered in wounds. Now he had to sit in the recovery chamber, which was super frustrating for him.
“Are you all kidding me? I step away for just a moment and you all get yourselves into this mess. It seems having you idiots take care of things gives no results!”
“What did you say?!”
Hearing that mocking female voice, Diablo couldn’t hold back. How dare she call him an idiot?
“Oh? Did I hit a nerve there, Diablo? Or did you not understand what I said just now?”
“Do you want to get punched?!”
Diablo was about to stand up to throw hands, but the next second, Gilbaris pressed him back into the recovery chamber.
“Enough you two! This isn’t the time for a fight. Diablo, your injuries aren’t healed yet. Just stay in the recovery chamber and get treated.”
“Tsk.”
Though he was dissatisfied, Diablo obediently returned to the recovery chamber for treatment.
“What have you been doing all this time? I couldn’t find you anywhere. Freya.”
Gilbaris turned to Freya, the fourth Ultimate Life Form. Even though she was just as much an Ultimate Life Form as the three of us, it seemed she wasn’t very enthusiastic about our plans and had been off playing somewhere.
“Do I need to answer that? Of course, I went out to have some fun. It was so boring here! But hey, I leave for just a little while and you guys get wrecked like this? Totally not like you at all.”
Freya casually found a flat surface to sit on and propped her legs up, looking at these so-called losers. It was just too amusing.
“I don’t think we three deserve your criticism. We’re equal here. Plus, you haven’t contributed anything, so what right do you have to critique us?”
This time, it was Titan who couldn’t hold back. The three of us had been working hard for the future of our clan. But what about Freya? Had she ever contributed? She was supposed to be one of us, yet all she did was seek pleasure, without any intention of joining our plans.
“Hmm. That’s true; I really don’t have the right to criticize you. But seeing you three beaten up like this makes me curious. What happened to make you all look like this? I’d like to go play with them too.”
“This isn’t a game. It concerns the future of our entire clan.”
“Whatever. If you want to go, then go ahead. But you’ll have to find your own information. Since you’re not part of our plans, there’s no need for us to share intel with you.”
Gilbaris interrupted Titan.
“So stingy! How unfair! Fine, I’ll just go then. Bye-bye, you three.”
After all, Freya already knew the target of this operation. She was aware of some details about the three of us.
“Hey, Gilbaris, is it really okay to let her go like this? If she ends up killing the sacrifices, our plan would be ruined!”
Watching Freya walk away, Titan looked worried. But Gilbaris seemed completely unworried.
“It’s fine. She won’t manage. I can guarantee she’ll get ambushed.”
“Ah? Are you sure?”
Titan couldn’t believe Gilbaris’s words. No matter what, Freya was still an Ultimate Life Form, and her strength wouldn’t be weak. Could Aierjisi and the others really turn the tables on her?
“I’m absolutely sure. You should have felt it too, right? That unyielding determination they have. If Freya goes in with a playful attitude, she’s definitely going to suffer a great loss. I’m certain of it.”
Gilbaris looked at the rest of our kin working on rebuilding the base in the distance. Time was running out for us; we had to get the six sacrifices soon to awaken the God of the Chaos Clan. For this purpose, we Ultimate Life Forms had to unite.
…
In conversation with Mia, Aierjisi and Yake also began to understand the current situation. After the Blood Clan’s disappearance, this place lost its original owner, and later, the ruins left by the Blood Clan were discovered by the Beastman Tribe, who began living here.
“I see…”
Aierjisi felt a mix of emotions. After 300 years of the Blood Clan’s disappearance, her hometown was now occupied by so many uninvited guests.
It was all the fault of those Adrian People! If they hadn’t attacked the Blood Clan 300 years ago, her home wouldn’t have been taken over by those Beastmen she didn’t even know.
Ah, things are getting more and more complicated. Her home was already taken over. The Moon God Palace was likely someone else’s now; getting in there wouldn’t be easy. And what about completing her enhancement mission?!
What’s more important is, now that her home was occupied, after dealing with those damned Adrian People, where on earth would she go to live? Was she supposed to go back and live in that tiny town with Yake?
