Chapter 1324: The Disappearance of Sacred Light
Lin Nuo was harnessing the power of two forces: one from the Sacred Light and the other from the Demon Path.
Meanwhile, Mu Yiting and Ling Meng’s Demon Path power had indeed been effective, successfully restraining Qin Dao.
In fact, besides the two of them, there was another soul assisting them.
With the help of Ling Meng’s other soul, they were able to thrive and bind Qin Dao seamlessly.
Now it was time for Liang Zhao.
“Now’s your chance; you can break Liang Zhao’s barrier.”
Lin Nuo gave the order, and Su Kexin and Luo Xiaoxue quickly shifted their target, attacking the outer barrier of Liang Zhao.
At that moment, Liang Zhao appeared unfazed, seemingly unshaken by the outcome.
He was calculating his own moves, a heavenly plan in his mind.
Liang Zhao’s nonchalant demeanor raised doubts in Lin Nuo.
What was this oddball hiding?
Lin Nuo felt like an outsider; after all, they were related to the Sacred Realm and Demon Realm, while he was just a fine young man from the 21st century, completely out of this timeline.
And now he had to deal with this petty matter.
Whatever it was, be it a bluff or a hidden danger, he wouldn’t find peace until this troublemaker was eliminated.
Break!
Soon, Su Kexin and Luo Xiaoxue shattered the outer barrier around Liang Zhao, leaving him completely defenseless.
“Hahaha, yes, yes!”
Liang Zhao stroked his beard, laughing heartily, showing no fear of the impending confrontation, as though he was waiting for Su Kexin and the others to fall into his trap.
“Liang Zhao, you have nowhere to run! Today will be your last day!”
Su Kexin shouted angrily, her sword raised. After enduring hardships with Lin Nuo, they were supposed to enjoy a happy life together, yet this man was interfering!
Kill! If they were all dead, then peace would reign upon the world!
“Su Kexin, are you a descendant of the War God?” Liang Zhao questioned.
“What does that have to do with you?”
Su Kexin was somewhat surprised. How did Liang Zhao know about that?
Could he have encountered the War God?
“It certainly has to do with me. Your family caused us quite a lot of suffering back in the day; now that only you remain, I can’t just sit back and watch.”
“What family? My Su family has no enmity with you. You’re the one bringing calamity upon the world; I’m acting on behalf of justice!”
“The Sacred Realm and Demon Realm cannot coexist. It’s either your death or ours. Don’t pretend to be moral!”
Liang Zhao laughed, leaving Su Kexin even more perplexed.
What on earth was this man talking about?
Lin Nuo caught on to the hints; this Liang seemed really connected to the Demon Realm.
He wasn’t visiting the Demon Realm for fun; perhaps he went there for treasure hunting.
Regardless, it was best to eliminate this rambling old man.
“Stop talking nonsense, let’s move!”
“Okay!”
Su Kexin responded, gripping the blazing Phoenix Sword, rushing directly in front of Liang Zhao to deliver a devastating blow.
Bang!
With a loud crash, Su Kexin’s sword struck Liang Zhao, blood splattering as he collapsed into a pool of crimson.
“Is it… over…?”
Su Kexin found it hard to believe; she thought Liang Zhao would put up a fight, but he just went down with one strike?
Surely, even an average demon shouldn’t fall so easily.
“Senior Martial Brother, he’s dead.”
“Finish him off! Why are you just standing there?”
Lin Nuo hurriedly moved in for a finishing blow. What if he wasn’t dead? What if he was just a puppet, not the real body? That would make this all worthless!
Lin Nuo slashed Liang Zhao’s body several more times; judging by this form, it was likely the real body.
But there was still a slim chance.
If it was the real body, then he would burn it—no point in leaving a whole corpse to waste.
Lin Nuo quickly summoned magic flames, rapidly engulfing Liang Zhao’s body, which was soon reduced to ashes.
It seemed finished.
But Lin Nuo was thinking along the same lines as Su Kexin; things were going too smoothly, which often wasn’t realistic.
As for Qin Dao, his enhanced state showed no signs of weakening, seemingly unaffected by Liang Zhao’s presence or absence.
That was a bit strange.
Usually, if the caster was gone, the spell would weaken significantly until it dissipated.
Yet Qin Dao’s body showed no such issues.
That only shrouded Liang Zhao in more mystery.
“Senior Martial Brother, not only is Qin Dao unchanged, but the other demons remain the same too. Could this be another of Liang Zhao’s puppets?”
Su Kexin speculated. Lin Nuo pondered for a moment, yet soon, all the demons including Qin Dao collapsed.
“They finally stopped moving.”
Qin Shili nearby also sighed in relief; the continuous spellcasting had drained them greatly, and thankfully this group of demons had fallen; otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to hold on much longer.
“Looks like Liang Zhao is really dead, huh? That sinister demon witch should’ve been done for ages ago.”
Recalling Liang Zhao’s curse from years back, a surge of hatred filled Qin Shili’s heart. She longed to end Liang Zhao herself.
“All done, let’s move on.”
Qin Shili nodded at Liu Shuqin, signaling to approach Lin Nuo, but unexpectedly a powerful aura swirled above the Demon Star.
“Senior Martial Brother, look there!”
“I see it! I told you it wouldn’t be that easy. They turned to ash and are still alive.”
Lin Nuo scoffed; it seemed that aura was related to Liang Zhao.
In no time, that aura transformed into Liang Zhao’s figure, albeit ethereal, as if he were a wisp of a soul.
“A dead soul? Liang Zhao, do you plan to become a vengeful spirit?”
Lin Nuo pulled out a magical talisman; dealing with spirits was his forte, and he intended to make Liang Zhao disappear for good.
“Hehe, Lin Nuo, you all have caused enough trouble. Next, you’ll witness a marvelous spectacle. What you said about them restraining me will ultimately become a joke.”
The ghostly Liang Zhao boasted, raising his hands as if he were a bizarre wizard begging the heavens for a response.
Then, the fallen demon practitioners abruptly resurrected; they stood up looking just as they had before, with no change in their blank expressions and those terrifying crimson eyes.
And then, the souls within them surged towards Liang Zhao—as these demons took a beating from Lin Nuo and the others, they were unknowingly collecting power, especially from Su Kexin and Luo Xiaoxue; their Sacred Light power was funneled into Qin Dao, who then returned it to Liang Zhao.
The power of the Demon Star continued to surge violently, ultimately forming a massive demonic dome that ensnared everyone.
“Are you planning to bring us all down with you?” Lin Nuo shouted at ghostly Liang Zhao.
“I only plan to kill you all.”
“You have no physical form left; do you really think you can borrow a body?”
The very thought disgusted Lin Nuo; being borrowed by him was inherently repulsive.
“Lin Nuo, you seem quite mistaken. What you see is merely one of my earthly vessels; if I desire to live again, it would be as easy as pie. If those two women were to lose their proud abilities, what would be left of you?”
With that, Liang Zhao raised his hands; under the surge of immense demonic power, the Sacred Light on Su Kexin and Luo Xiaoxue faded away.
