Chapter 13: Sigh, sigh sigh…
Well, yesterday evening, as usual, Gu Hui and Qiao Lili bunked over at the neighboring dorm.
As for the girls in the neighboring dorm, they were out all night at the net cafe grinding till dawn. Apparently, they couldn’t get online during the day, got salty, and just played games half-heartedly. They barely reached the second level.
By the next evening, no matter what, it was time to head back. Gu Hui and Qiao Lili cautiously approached the door. After a quick game of rock-paper-scissors, it was decided that Gu Hui would go check things out.
The girl pressed her ear against the door, listening intently—
”Where’s your Water Dragon? Why isn’t it coming out?”
”That’s the ultimate skill! It needs charging. Use normal attacks first or summon two water constructs with combat skills. Attack together to charge up. Once the Water Dragon icon lights up, press ultimate to unleash the true dragon.”
”Why is the ultimate sometimes strong, sometimes weak?”
”Because you’re not doing the damage loop right. The true dragon consumes existing summons on the field—4 or 7 (if two-star) to max out Water Dragon LORD’s stats. Before ultimate, time a water construct cooldown. During Water Dragon LORD’s duration, you can still summon twice. After ultimate ends, there’ll be two rounds of summons left on the field. If energy’s full, you can summon again—a Water Dragon LORD fully charged from consuming four water constructs. With two-star, wait another round for cooldown.”
”So troublesome. When I watch you play, you never need to time cooldowns. You just wave your hand and it happens.”
”That’s the Tide Agreement. It’d ruin game balance if it were added in, though it’s already pretty unbalanced now… Anyway, maybe add it later to constellation abilities.”
Gu Hui blinked her eyes.
Wait, at first, she thought they were talking some kinda naughty secret language. But after hearing more, she realized they were actually just gaming.
Still unsure, she listens further—
[These games are such a hassle. The characters are indeed lively and detailed, but aren’t they too sexy? Controls are so complicated too—all kinds of restrictions added for “gameplay.”
But, regardless, playing together is fun.]
This was Bai Ling’s inner voice, so pure, so harmonious and sweet. Gu Hui couldn’t help but crack a knowing smile.
Let’s see what Yuan Xiaoling is thinking—
[Why are you so bad, huh? Can’t walk, can’t fight, don’t know how to use ultimate, don’t know how to dodge boss skills. Without me, you wouldn’t even know how to start the game.
Pfft, Minnow.]
”…”
Stepping away from the door, Qiao Lili curiously asked, “So, is the battle over?”
”Over. But let’s go eat first. We’ll come back later.”
”Eh? Why?”
”Cause we’re hungry.”
Meanwhile, Bai Ling continues her adventure in a virtual world called Heart’s Sea.
The game faithfully recreates Tianhai City’s past…
