The next day, our schedule changed to include not only morning but also afternoon classes.
I wake up at 4 in the morning and head to school.
And then, I have lessons in the morning and afternoon, spending evenings chatting with Frank, Cedric, occasionally Ilmera or Noel, before heading home.
That’s how my life has been going, and I’ve grown accustomed to waking up early and the school routine.
But the difficulty of the lessons hasn’t changed at all.
“It’s so hard…”
On Thursday evening, after school, I remained in the classroom, clasping my head.
“Predictable, isn’t it? It’s just like watching Yuika from the first week of April.”
“Yeah, Yuika definitely had her head in her hands too…”
Ilmera and Noel, who were also left in the classroom, looked exasperated.
“Where’s Yuika anyway? It’s been four days, and I haven’t seen her yet.”
“She’s down with a cold and bedridden.”
“It seems she’s made it pretty bad…”
A cold…
“Don’t idiots never catch colds?”
“Do you ever catch a cold?”
“Yeah…”
It happens occasionally.
“So, even idiots catch colds.”
“Regardless of whether someone’s an idiot or not, she’s supposed to come back next week.”
So, our first meeting will be next week…
“Tsukasa, what about tomorrow afternoon? It’s that boring history class, so let’s not go and visit the town instead?”
Frank invites me along.
“Tomorrow…”
Ah, bad idea.
I made plans to take a curse magic class with Sharl tomorrow afternoon.
“I’ve got plans for tomorrow afternoon, so I’ll pass.”
“Plans? Is it family related?”
“No, I’m taking a curse magic class.”
“Ah… didn’t you mention something about unbinding?”
“True, but is there really a curse magic class tomorrow?”
Frank looked around at the other three.
“Beats me.”
“We don’t have one in D Class either.”
“Moreover, you are really the last person who should be doing curse magic.”
Perhaps Ilmera was attempting to compliment me.
“Third-year students from Class A are supposed to.”
“That’s what Sharl said!”
Class A…
“Class A…?”
“Hmm. Class A is fine…”
“People from Class A are very peaceful.”
“Sounds good to me.”
What’s up with this reaction?
“Is Class A something special?”
“Not exactly bad. You can attend any class from any class anyway. It’s just that my Class B and Class C don’t get along well. Especially the first years.”
Class C…
“Why?”
“That’s because the top student in our class and the top student in Class C hate each other like cats and dogs. And faction stuff too… I guess.”
“Faction, huh… Do you mean La Folle and Sharl?”
“That’s right.”
Another prestigious lineage thing… It’s getting complicated for me since I’m connected to both sides. Can’t they just get along? Frank and Ilmera said that, right.
“Are they really that bad?”
Noel, who is also French, gave me a wry smile.
“There’s history between them…”
Noel chuckled faintly.
“Also, the people surrounding the Student Council President are annoying.”
“Honestly, they’re kind of obnoxious.”
Ilmera and Cedric both nodded vigorously, so I stared at them.
“What?”
“I get what you’re saying, but I feel like you’d understand more if you just talk to them yourself.”
Hearing that, I decide not to talk to them.
But then… Sharl…
Hmm, I’ll leave it for now.
“I don’t fully understand all of it, but regardless, I’m taking the curse magic class tomorrow.”
“The difficulty isn’t going to be comparable to first-year lessons, but good luck.”
“It’s a good thing to work hard towards your goals.”
“I’m not too sure what you’re referring to, but good luck.”
“Once you reach the third year, show me your notes.”
These guys seem pretty nice, but I can see they all share the same skeptical expression. Even I, honestly, doubt myself.
After that, we left the classroom and headed back to the dorms. Once we parted with the girls, we returned to the boys’ dorm, and I went home a bit earlier that day.
“I wonder what tomorrow will bring?”
Although I made a promise with Sharl, we haven’t confirmed exact details, so I’m unclear.
After changing, I walked to the neighboring room and opened the door.
“Knock next time!”
Toko, who was reading a manga on her bed, complained.
“Toko-san, is it okay to just call someone from the opposite gender on the phone?”
“Hmm? Why? Are you planning on confessing?”
Am I really supposed to confess over the phone?
“No, I have a plan for tomorrow, and I wanted to discuss that.”
“Oh, if it’s something important, go ahead and call them?”
That does make sense.
“Okay, see you!”
Having finished my business, I left the room.
“Still, close the door!”
I closed the door to avoid any more complaints, returned to my room, and made the call. It kept ringing, but she didn’t pick up.
“Hello?”
She might have been in Astral, but she answered normally.
“Hello. Is it okay that I called?”
“It’s fine, I was just sitting around anyway.”
Apparently, it’s fine.
“So, uh, tomorrow afternoon, we have that curse magic class, right? Is everything alright with the schedule?”
“Yeah, it’s fine. I have nothing else to do anyway once I get back.”
She seems to have nothing else to do. Do they not have after-school activities at the Magic Academy?
“Alright, then. Let’s meet somewhere. Some of my classmates said they were worried about me going to other classes alone.”
“Ah… D Class, right? Sorry about that.”
Sharl seemed to notice something and apologized.
“No, Sharl, I don’t think you need to apologize. Honestly, I’m not quite clear on it myself.”
“Hmm, there are some conflicts… Sigh.”
Sharl let out a weary sigh.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes… but since you mentioned it, let’s meet in front of the Class A building. We can walk there together.”
“Alright then. 10 minutes before the class?”
“Yes, that’s fine. See you tomorrow.”
“Thanks, see you tomorrow.”
I hung up.
“Hmm…”
Where exactly is the problem with her?
She seems genuinely nice…
Hmm… Beautiful and kind Sharl and Toko…
Yeah, it’s probably Toko’s fault. She does have a rather sharp tongue…
