Chapter 15: Let’s Not Worry About It for Now

Chapter 15: Let’s Not Worry About It for Now

“Thank you both for driving back Diablo. This is a small token of appreciation, please enjoy it if you don’t mind.”

After returning to the Royal Palace, Gaia approached the two of them. He brought along some strawberry cake. After such intense physical activity from the battle, their bodies surely needed a sugar boost, and sweet treats like cake fit the bill perfectly.

“Oh! Strawberry cake! Thank you! I was just craving something sweet!”

Aierjisi expressed her gratitude to Gaia and picked up a knife and fork to dig into the cake.

“Mr. Yake, aren’t you going to eat? This cake is really delicious!”

Noticing that Yake was sitting in his chair and not making a move, Gaia was curious if he simply didn’t eat sweets.

“Ah? No, it’s not that. It’s just that the impact from that previous battle left my hands and feet a bit numb. I just need to sit here for a while longer.”

Yake explained why he wasn’t joining in.

“I see. You’ve had a tough time. But wait a moment, I’ll call a few servants to help feed you the cake.”

Since Yake couldn’t act on his own, Gaia decided to call a few people over to assist.

“No need for that. I will feed him myself. Gaia, you don’t have to trouble yourself.”

Before Gaia could leave to call for help, Aierjisi had already taken the cake and started feeding it to Yake.

“You see, I can take care of him, so there’s no need to call anyone.”

Watching Yake eat the strawberry cake with Aierjisi’s help, Gaia had nothing to say. Since she declared that she could handle Yake, it was best for him not to interfere.

“I understand. Then I’ll leave it to you. I’ll go check on the analysis of Diablo’s situation.”

“Eh? Has the analysis already been completed?”

Hearing that the analysis of Diablo’s information had commenced, Aierjisi put down the cake and fork she was using to feed Yake.

“No, we’ve only just started the analysis. It’ll likely take a while before it’s fully complete. So, for now, you two should take it easy. Once the analysis is done, I’ll come back to find you.”

“Okay, so we’ve only just begun. I thought it was all wrapped up. Sorry, Gaia, I really can’t help you with something like this.”

Aierjisi admitted her limitations in this brainy task and decided to rest instead.

“Whoa! Miss Aierjisi, what are you talking about? You both have already been a huge help to me. If it weren’t for your fight with Diablo, we wouldn’t have been able to gather any information on him. Now that we have all his battle data collected, with enough time to analyze, we should be able to discover his weaknesses. So leave the rest to us, and you two should rest well, especially since we’ll need your help for more things later!”

Gaia patted Aierjisi’s shoulder meaningfully and left first.

“Yeah, that’s true. We probably have a lot more battles ahead of us. If we don’t take a good rest, how can we be ready? We should just focus on fighting, and leave the other stuff to everyone else.”

After being talked to by Gaia, Aierjisi thought it over. Since she wasn’t good at this analytical stuff, it was better to let someone else handle it. She just needed to follow their battle strategies and defeat the enemies— that would be enough.

“Hey, Aier, there’s something I’m not sure if I should mention.”

Yake, still sitting in his chair with his limbs numb, suddenly recalled something from the battle.

“What is it? Go ahead and say it.”

“When I exchanged punches with that guy, I saw a red stamp on his chest. I was wondering if that could be a weak point or something.”

Yake remembered the battle; although their attacks didn’t seem to harm him much, when he landed a punch on that area, he noticed a pained expression cross that guy’s face. Perhaps that was indeed his weak point.

“How could that be? They are Ultimate Life Forms! There’s no way they would be foolish enough to expose their weaknesses on such a noticeable part of their body. Absolutely impossible!”

Aierjisi shook her head decisively. These beings were Ultimate Life Forms and wouldn’t make such a rookie mistake.

“But…”

“Alright, let’s not dwell on that. Let’s wait here comfortably for the analysis results, okay? Open your mouth; I’ll keep feeding you cake.”

Yake wanted to say more, but Aierjisi picked up the cake again and stuffed it into his mouth to silence him.

Meanwhile, Diablo returned to his domain alone.

“What’s wrong, Diablo? You look a bit downcast. Did you get humiliated by the Little Princess?”

“I’d say that’s about right. You used your ultimate move, only to have it neutralized by her, so you slink back here all ashamed, huh?”

Gilbaris and Titan returned to meet Lin Yue, and although their words sounded like greetings, they were more akin to mockery.

“Hmph. I just used too much power when attacking the Barrier before. That’s why I didn’t have enough strength during the fight. I came back to replenish my energy. Once I’m ready, I’ll go capture her again.”

Diablo didn’t take their jabs to heart. After all, they were just two worthless mockers— why should he care about their words? All he needed was tangible results to make them shut up and admit he was the strongest.

“Wait, Diablo. Next time, the two of us are going with you. If the three of us attack together, no matter who the opponent is, they won’t be able to withstand it.”

“I refuse! Associating with two useless beings is an insult to me!”

“Hold on, Diablo. Stop being so stubborn and headstrong. The enemy is already uniting against us. If we keep acting separately, we’ll just get picked off one by one.”

Gilbaris grabbed Diablo’s shoulder, wanting to explain the importance of unity, but Diablo quickly shrugged him off.

“I told you before, being forced to act with you two is the greatest insult. Even if they band together, so what? I can easily handle them all by myself. If you don’t believe me, just sit back and watch.”

With that, Diablo headed to the enhancement tower to replenish his strength.

“Geez, this guy is so stubborn! When will he learn the value of teamwork?”

“I think we should just leave him be for now. With his prideful personality, he won’t change unless he suffers a crushing defeat.”

As they watched Diablo’s receding figure, Gilbaris sighed, while Titan suggested that they let him act on his own. After all, if he managed to gather all the sacrifices, they would achieve their goal directly. If he returned defeated in battle, it would be a good lesson to humble his arrogant attitude— either way, it was a win for them.
