Chapter 151

Chapter 151: Zero Release!

When the Abyssal Wave Dragon realized that the downward tunnel gradually slowed and turned upward, she immediately understood that her opponent had escaped.

Upward?

The impending challenge made the Ancient Dragon rekindle wisdom. She suspected whether the enemy was crouching at the exit, waiting for her to poke her head out.

Carefully, the Abyssal Wave Dragon chose to backtrack, returning along the dug-out path back into the water world.

The massive water world was like a small droplet, held together by tension, maintaining its unity instead of dispersing.

The Abyssal Wave Dragon crouched on the water world, controlling it as it began to roll.

A tremor of unease made her look forward, where the Flying Dragon was dancing, directly in front of the cave she should have emerged from.

The Flying Dragon lifted its head during the dance, gazing at the rolling water world approaching, and the Abyssal Wave Dragon perched atop it.

How adorable, here’s a reward!

Jié Jié’s movements during the dance transformed into threads forming fireballs, extending far with the sound’s guidance.

The destructive light solidified, breaking through the rain curtain, flying toward the Abyssal Wave Dragon, who let out a terrified scream as it shot into the water world.

The splashing water extinguished every flame, each flame evaporating the splashed water into vapor.

The tension holding the water world together was broken, floods rushing everywhere, causing the Abyssal Wave Dragon to tumble and roar in anger.

The receding floodwaters began to flow back and gather around her, flowing against the current into her lowered mouth. There were remnants of intense poison, but this poison was quickly noticed and became part of the water column she shot out.

The terrifying impact of the water column caused the flowers of flooded lands to explode, tearing apart the earth and rivers.

But Jie Jie had already taken flight, watching the water column strangely twist on the ground before flying towards her. A pillar of fire descended from the sky, covering the Abyssal Wave Dragon in the same manner.

The water enveloping the Abyssal Wave Dragon was evaporating, but more floodwater flowed against the current, wrapping around her body and continuously reforming her shield.

The pillar of fire pressed closer; after dissipating, the Spiny Dragon dove down from above.

The gathered water was scattered, directly colliding with the Abyssal Wave Dragon, forcing her to retreat, leaving behind streams of water to restrain Jie Jie’s steps.

The Spiny Dragon leaped, stomping heavily, causing water to splash explosively.

Two heavy stomps freed Jie Jie from the water entanglement, landing heavily on the Abyssal Wave Dragon, claws tearing through the water, sinking into flesh and blood.

The Abyssal Wave Dragon slipped away using the floodwater, turning around and spitting out a massive water ball that exploded on the Spiny Dragon.

After consuming the water in the soft coral, the battle between both sides became an exchange of attacks.

Sometimes they would spray breath weapons that barely harmed each other’s physical forms, sometimes closing in to fight with wings and claws.

At this moment, the Abyssal Wave Dragon’s structure with two wings and four legs showed an advantage. She could use her wings to block the Spiny Dragon’s wings, then rapidly flapping her small hands to break off many spikes from Jie Jie’s shell.

She flapped while he bit and collided.

Jie Jie slightly retreated, charging again with his horn, only to be stopped by the Abyssal Wave Dragon holding his head with both hands, her large wings stretching out with tentacles tightly wrapping around Jie Jie’s body.

The Abyssal Wave Dragon briefly restrained the Spiny Dragon with her whole body, but her jaw structure wasn’t suited for biting, nor did she have a robust horn like the Spiny Dragon.

All she could do was hold onto Jie Jie, spraying water at close range.

Close range, Attribute Release!

The powerful rush of water impacted Jie Jie’s body at close quarters.

Water flows with relentless force, which when constrained and released briefly, is enough to carve rivers.

Such power was unleashed point-blank on the Spiny Dragon, rapidly expanding his wounds, replacing the flesh under his shell with water.

In a sense, this was akin to a headlock with a cleaving blade.

“Grunt!”

The Spiny Dragon roared in pain, exploding with strength, his spread wings breaking free from the Abyssal Wave Dragon’s bindings. With a thrust of his head, his horn pierced directly into her chin.

“Wowowowaa—”

The Abyssal Wave Dragon wailed, closing her mouth.

Her cries sounded like a little girl crying, quite pleasant, but in battle combined with her appearance, it only incited the primal urge for destruction in living beings.

In the evenly matched battle, the Abyssal Wave Dragon’s totem unlocked, progressing with the damage inflicted by Jie Jie.

But advancing further proved difficult. In the humid environment, the Abyssal Wave Dragon’s water-bound state never ceased, and after being hit earlier, she avoided entering the Lightning Release state to consume surrounding moisture.

Every breath and water cannon consumed the surrounding water, but the expelled water was drawn back by the Ancient Dragon’s natural might, reabsorbed into her mouth for reuse.

Attempting to change the stalemate, Jie Jie jumped, flapping his wings while spinning in the air. The tail hammer that should have crashed down transformed into a long blade.

The Sword Tail slashed diagonally downward.

The water binding broke, leaving a wound across half her face on her flattened head.

The mixture of water and bodily fluids sealed the wound, her tiny eyes flashing with confusion.

In her eyes, the Flying Dragon inexplicably transformed into a Beast Dragon, swinging its long, sharp tail repeatedly towards her.

“Waaaah!”

Confusion quickly turned to anger; that first slash nearly injured her eyes.

The jet of water spewing from the Abyssal Wave Dragon’s mouth was split by a blade, but cutting water only makes it flow harder.

The water falling on either side of her body, when her palms slapped hard, surged towards the Slashing Dragon’s legs.

It was harder for the Beast Dragon to maintain stability compared to the Flying Dragon kind. After several slashes, Jie Jie also tumbled to the ground, transforming back into the Spiny Dragon.

By this point, both combatants had expended much stamina. The Abyssal Wave Dragon panted heavily as she moved backward.

Jie Jie was also panting, lightly jumping to break through the waves she pushed back during her retreat.

With numerous scars, the Abyssal Wave Dragon lowered her head again, inhaling the gathered water storm, raising her body and slamming it down heavily, all the water beneath her transforming into a massive wave heading towards Jie Jie.

And her figure disappeared behind the great wave.

“Escaped.”

Jie Jie didn’t pursue her. His body was often covered and entangled by water, making movement consume even more energy than usual.

Within the range of the two dragons’ battle, all other creatures had fled. From high altitudes looking down, large-scale soft corals were detonated by the Abyssal Wave Dragon to extract moisture during the fight.

The residual water formed deep pools.

The old soft corals had died, but their coral eggs would quickly grow in the hot springs “blessed” by this master of currents.

He followed the edge of the battlefield near the Grand Canyon, hunting a few plump and elderly Winged Dragons to feed on.

Following his body’s fatigue and the surge of blood sugar after eating, the Spiny Dragon fell into a deep sleep.

Not long ago, a young monster covered in white thorns traversed the Grand Canyon, her gaze shifting from the abyss below to the plateau above.

This was part of nature.
