Chapter 154: Su Hua falls ill.
Lin Chang and Wang Yajun. It’s them. Brother Lin Xuan had been watching their every move. Lin Chang and Wang Yajun were chatting happily; there wasn’t any overly affectionate behavior between them, but as Lin Chang’s secretary, Wang Yajun should have been the one carrying things. Instead, Lin Chang was the one holding the items. They looked like a couple.
Brother Lin Xuan recalled what Jiang Shuqin had said before—that Wang Yajun had deeply cared for her husband, who had been in a vegetative state for over twenty years, never leaving his side. He remembered from his past life that Wang Yajun’s husband eventually woke up, but just a few days later, it was reported that he had committed suicide. How could such coincidences exist in this world?
Wang Yajun was still Lin Chang’s secretary, and with them spending so much time together day and night, something happening between them was almost inevitable. “Interesting,” Brother Lin Xuan smirked slightly, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel. Looks like he needed to investigate this thoroughly. If Jiang Shuqin believed Lin Chang loved her, then if there was truly something going on between Lin Chang and Wang Yajun, it would be quite amusing.
Brother Lin Xuan logged into the dark web, hired two private detectives, and instructed them to tail Lin Chang and Wang Yajun. After doing all of that, Brother Lin Xuan tossed his phone aside and restarted his car.
He drove back to the Night Garden. He didn’t see Su Hua’s figure anywhere. Butler Wang was on sick leave, so he wasn’t around either.
“Hua Bao?” Brother Lin Xuan frowned and asked.
A servant replied, “Miss seems to have gone to see Master.”
“Alright.”
Brother Lin Xuan nodded. He knew Su Hua had a grandfather, but he had never met him.
—
At the Su Family Manor.
A luxury car stopped in front of the villa. Su Hua was helped out by two female bodyguards. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her complexion was deathly pale.
Su Guoxiong leaned on his cane and urged anxiously, “Quick! Take Miss Su back to her room, and bring Sun Que here!”
“Yes, sir.”
The servants hurriedly followed Su Guoxiong’s orders. Sun Que rushed over, knowing the urgency, and without greeting Su Guoxiong, immediately checked Su Hua’s pulse.
Sun Que’s brows furrowed tighter and tighter. He shook his head and released Su Hua’s wrist.
“How is Miss Su’s condition now?” Su Guoxiong asked anxiously.
Sun Que’s face was filled with deep concern. “Miss Su’s condition is much worse than when I last examined her over two years ago.”
Su Guoxiong frowned deeply. So, during these past two years, Su Hua hadn’t let Sun Que examine her because her condition worsened and she didn’t want him to worry? That must be the reason.
If Butler Wang heard this, he’d probably roll his eyes sky-high. Overthinking again. Miss Su clearly didn’t want to expose Lin Xuan, fearing Grandpa might take action against him.
Seeing Su Hua’s pale and frail appearance, Su Guoxiong felt a pang of bitterness in his heart. This child, Su Hua, appeared cold on the surface, but deep down, she truly cared about this old man.
But heaven was too unfair to Su Hua. She had wandered homeless for so long, only to be brought back to the Su family and then tricked into that isolated island. Even now, as the head of the Su family, she constantly faced covert threats.
“Is there any way to treat her?” Su Guoxiong asked with a frown.
Sun Que shook his head.
“It’s a mental illness; there’s nothing I can do unless Miss Su can recount what she has experienced, allowing us to treat her symptoms accordingly.” He sighed. “Unfortunately, Miss Su’s psychological defenses are too strong; outsiders find it nearly impossible to uncover her inner thoughts.”
Even though he was a top-tier psychologist, no matter what he said or did, he couldn’t get a single word out of Su Hua. Her expression remained perpetually calm, her eyes devoid of any emotion. He had no idea what she was thinking.
The old master had invited renowned psychologists from all over the world, but without exception, they all failed.
“Master, if this continues, I fear Miss Su will resort to self-harm,” Sun Que voiced his concerns.
Su Guoxiong clenched his fists tightly. “Am I supposed to just sit here and watch Su Hua’s condition deteriorate step by step?”
Sun Que remained silent.
As time passed, Su Hua’s eyes grew increasingly red.
“Master, we should send Miss Su to the sealed chamber,” Sun Que reminded.
Su Guoxiong looked at Su Hua, his face filled with pain.
“Alright,” Su Guoxiong spoke through gritted teeth. “Take Su Hua to the sealed chamber.”
Administering too many sedatives would harm her body. Leaving her outside would mean no one could stop her, and if she encountered any sharp objects, she might hurt herself. Other than placing her in the sealed chamber, they had no other options.
“Yes,” several female bodyguards responded, helping Su Hua into the sealed chamber.
As the door closed tightly, Su Hua was completely cut off from the outside world.
Alone in the middle of the sealed chamber, which was as airtight as the one at the Night Garden, pitch black without a single ray of light, Su Hua saw the world in her eyes as a sea of bloody red, along with an uncontrollable aura of malevolence.
She wanted to destroy everything in this world…
“Bang bang bang—”
Su Guoxiong listened to the sounds of smashing inside the sealed chamber, his eyes brimming with worry.
At this moment, a servant approached with Su Hua’s phone.
“Master, someone is calling Miss Su.”
Su Guoxiong glanced at the contact name—Jiang Qing, a secretary whom Su Hua trusted greatly.
Su Guoxiong answered the call.
“President Su, where are you? There’s an important document that requires your signature,” Jiang Qing’s voice came through the phone.
With his deep voice, Su Guoxiong replied, “This is Su Guoxiong.”
Jiang Qing straightened his demeanor. “Chairman.”
Even though Su Guoxiong had completely withdrawn from the company, Jiang Qing still respectfully addressed him as Chairman.
“That important document of yours, Su Hua can’t sign it temporarily. We’ll discuss it once Su Hua recovers,” Su Guoxiong sighed.
Jiang Qing sensed something was wrong. “What’s wrong with President Su?”
Su Guoxiong pinched the bridge of his nose. “Su Hua has fallen ill.”
“President Su fell ill?” Jiang Qing immediately became tense. “Chairman, is Lin Xuan at the old estate?”
“Lin Xuan?”
Su Guoxiong vaguely remembered that Su Hua’s boyfriend seemed to be named Lin Xuan. Why did the secretary suddenly bring him up?
“Yes, that’s President Su’s boyfriend. Old Chairman, don’t worry, I have a way to help President Su recover.”
After hanging up, Jiang Qing quickly contacted Lin Xuan.
“Young Master Lin, President Su has fallen ill. I’ll send you the location; please come immediately,” Jiang Qing said urgently.
“Alright,” Lin Xuan also began to feel anxious. The scene of Su Hua falling ill last time was vivid in his mind—she lost her sanity, surrounded by a bloodthirsty killing intent. She was like a walking corpse, devoid of any human emotions.
Lin Xuan didn’t want to see Su Hua like that.
He got into the car, stepped on the gas pedal, and the car shot forward instantly.
