Chapter 16

Yuric arrived at a certain room following a graceful female mage. While he was briefly examining the room, a middle-aged man with a bushy beard hurried in. He simply introduced himself as Francis and immediately laid out the circuit diagrams on the round table.

“Can you explain what this is?”

This was likely a simple verification of authenticity. Yuric gladly explained the principles of the circuit indicated by the middle-aged man. He wanted to explain the effects occurring when connected with surrounding circuits, but that would take more than just one night, so he stopped at an appropriate point.

When he finished explaining and looked up, Francis’s face was overflowing with uncontrollable excitement, surely due to the joy of discovering the real thing.

“Really, you’re the one! You’re the one! The real deal has come!”

He rushed to Yuric, grabbed his hands tightly, laughed “Wahaha,” and shook him up and down crazily.

“Thank you for coming! It’s an honor to meet you! …Ah, I shouldn’t be doing this. Could you wait here for a moment? I’ll be right back.”

Francis looked at the lady, who nodded lightly, indicating she would stay.

After the middle-aged mage left, only Yuric, the female mage, and the guard accompanying her remained in the room.

“Sorry for the late introduction. I’m Yuric.”

“…I’m Angel.”

An awkward atmosphere filled the room as people began to gather. Yuric suddenly wondered what was happening.

“Are you really the mage who drew these circuit diagrams?”

“Indeed, your description matches! Young and handsome!”

The mages surrounded Yuric in excitement. The director shouted to calm them down.

“Calm down and step back. We have urgent matters to address first!”

Ah, right. The rational mages suppressed their excitement and stepped back. They gathered around the round table, staring intently at Yuric and the circuit diagrams.

“May I ask what your name is?”

“I’m Yuric.”

“Yuric…!”

The mages nodded, firmly imprinting his name in their minds.

“We have many questions for you.”

“Yes, I’ll answer whatever I can.”

Questions poured in from all sides, but the director waved his hand to quiet them.

“Quiet everyone. This isn’t productive. Let me ask the necessary questions first!”

After calming the mages, the director wiped the sweat from his forehead and asked Yuric as a representative.

“How long did it take you to modify this circuit? Since you posted the diagrams? Or after some time? And did you do it alone? Or were others involved?”

Yuric answered each question in turn.

“It took me three days to modify the original diagram. It was quite complex and difficult. I struggled a lot. And I worked alone.”

The mages looked as if they had heard wrong.

Francis, standing behind the director, asked again.

“Just now… you said three days? For this? …Alone?!”

“Yes.”

They were all shocked. Frankly, it was hard to believe.

Still, they hadn’t jumped to conclusions about truth or falsehood.

If someone made a claim, a mage should prove it directly!

“Then can you explain the principle of this circuit diagram? If possible, please also explain why you made such changes.”

“Of course. But it will take quite a while to explain everything.”

“That’s fine. No matter how long it takes, it’s not a problem. Right?”

At the director’s question, everyone present nodded without hesitation. They had been waiting so long for the real thing to appear!

Thus, Yuric started explaining the circuit diagram right there. During the explanation, the director interrupted briefly for permission.

“Sorry, but we shouldn’t do this here. Let me arrange another place quickly.”

Other mages had also been hoping for this. Calling it a principle explanation, it was almost like a lecture. His explanation was revolutionary and groundbreaking.

By this point, they had already decided on the truth. They were sure he had told the truth earlier.

“Let’s go to the conference room!”

The mages rushed to the conference room. They settled in their seats, ready to take notes on important points, waiting for Yuric’s explanation to resume.

“Hmm, let’s start over then.”

Yuric’s explanation resumed.

The reason for putting in the circuit, how it works with surrounding circuits, and the combination effects when dozens of circuits intertwine…

“Explaining it verbally might be hard to understand. Look at this.”

While pointing to the circuit diagram on the wall with a pointer, Yuric placed it on the table and stepped forward two paces.

He overlapped his hands diagonally, gathering mana in his palms, and scattered it onto the giant round table of the conference room.

!

The mages’ eyes widened as they saw a single magic circle filling the table.

Ah.

Yuric visually demonstrated how the circuit diagram showed the organic harmony of circuits.

As mana entered the input, it flowed along the circuits like thin threads, activating the diagram. The mages couldn’t help but marvel at the artistic precision of the process.

Meanwhile, Yuric continued his explanation. Showing rather than just telling was much more effective and intuitive.

“This works on such a principle!”

“I never knew that four parts meshed together could produce such an effect.”

Circuits are infinite. Naturally, their combinations are infinite too.

Yuric had only plucked one tiny possibility from the vast infinity.

He didn’t think his circuit diagram was perfect. In the vast infinity, there must be even better possibilities.

With every word Yuric spoke, the mages slapped their palms on the table or knees, exclaiming in amazement. Everyone focused so intensely they lost track of time.

“If you improve an old circuit, it will surely find use somewhere. So, don’t dismiss it outright as useless just because it’s outdated.”

“That makes sense. Junior’s idea is correct.”

Of course, there had been no research on reusing old circuits, but none had produced such meaningful results.

Perhaps this incident could reignite the retro trend in southern magic circles from decades ago.

The explanation of the circuit principles continued through the night without pause.

Honestly, if he went into more detail, it would have taken days. So, Yuric held back from delving too deep. After all, they were all experts in their fields, and this level of explanation should suffice for understanding.

The conference room door, which had been closed since evening, finally opened the next morning.

Exhausted mages who had fallen asleep waiting woke up to the sound of the door opening. They rushed towards the mages leaving the conference room.

The mages who had directly heard Yuric’s explanation of the circuit principles were physically tired but their eyes burned with intense fire.

“Let’s head straight to the research lab! There’s a mountain of work to do!”

“Yes, Senior!”

The director instructed his subordinate to provide a comfortable space for the handsome mage who had worked hard.

“Make sure everything is taken care of. He’s a VIP.”

“Yes, Director.”

Tired from using mana and talking all night, Yuric wanted to rest soon. The gathered mages, having heard the rumor that Yuric was the one who drew the circuit diagram, followed him. However, the Countess Angel and the director’s subordinate stood on either side of him, preventing any conversation, so he could only watch.

Yuric was guided to a VIP suite prepared in Sector 2. Having always stayed in cheap lodgings, seeing the luxurious room made his feet tingle.

“Please rest comfortably.”

After the guide left, alone in the room, Yuric threw his bag on the floor and flopped onto the soft bed. The soft blanket and quilt carried him to heaven. Lying on the warm cloud-like quilt must feel like this.

He thought, “Next time I earn a lot of money, I’ll definitely buy a good quilt,” before drifting off to sleep.

Yuric had a dream.

He was giving his first presentation in a conference room filled with executives.

He truly enjoyed it, and woke up.

Yuric lay face down on the pillow. A groan escaped involuntarily.

It was the memory of his past life he didn’t want to recall.
