Chapter 165 Question 153 Can I fight a Special Grade? Is this real or fake?
That enchanting figure had already quietly left without them noticing when.
“Damn it, Naraka has already retreated before us. We must escape quickly too.”
Kasugabe Toshiya felt increasingly anxious knowing that a first-grade Jujutsu Sorcerer’s crucial combat strength was missing.
“No way, we can’t escape just by running.” Azami Tōdō pinched his brow and carefully observed the enemy’s posture. “The enemy is extremely confident, completely disregarding our presence, but if we try to run away, they might seriously kill us right away.”
Zenin Maki and the others came closer to listen to his analysis.
“Now the only choice is to battle. Use the enemy’s underestimate of us, continuously attack, then find an opportunity to scatter and escape separately.” Tōdō crackled his fingers with confidence and smiled. “Though the enemy is a Special Grade, I’m not planning to die at their hands.”
“I haven’t seen my dear Brahmin yet!”
“Pfft, I actually wanted to run away directly, but now, we’ll do as you say.” Kasugabe resigned helplessly; after all, Tōdō’s reasoning made sense.
Besides, he himself wasn’t confident enough to outrun this three-headed volcano Special Grade Cursed Spirit as swift as BAKU.
“Though it’s deeply unsatisfying to have to trust you, under these current circumstances, there’s no other choice.” Maki said, holding the nun-chucks in her hand. “Don’t let down the trust I’m placing in you, Tōdō!”
“Haha, of course not.”
“Then I’ll be serious as well!” The Panda stepped forward, all his muscles bulging, his head transforming more closely resembled an ape with two prominent lower fangs protruding from his lips.
“Salmon salmon!”
Seeing everyone ready for battle, Rokushiki smiled, revealing his perfectly straight black teeth, “Doesn’t looking sorry finish up? ”
“Then, you’re dead.”
It crouched down, pressing its palm against the ground.
The earth immediately trembled violently, the street ahead turning into scorching lava, spurting toward everyone.
The five people scattered. Zenin dashed forward, sprinting on buildings’ walls toward Rokushiki, throwing the nun-chucks which whipped across like whips aiming for the mountain-like head of the volcano entity.
“Too slow!” Rokushiki grinned, stretching out his palm.
Pang!
His palm barely pressed against empty air as flames gushed out explosively, instantly blasting a huge hole in the nearby building. Melted edges outlined the destruction.
A whoosh rang behind them as Rokushiki swiftly turned around. Blood-red nun-chucks magnified in his eye as an eye.
Rokushiki lurched backward from the blow, then regained composure in mid-air, firing another scorching jet from the tip of his mouth towards Maki.
Pang!
In that instant, the positions of Rokushiki and Maki swapped again. Raging fires consumed Rokushiki.
Though no effective harm was dealt, the flaming yellow speckled cloak flared up.
Position swapping again? It must be that brat’s technique.
Rokushiki’s mind echoed to Tōdō’s robust form.
As flames subsided, Panda, switched to a gorilla mode, darted and appeared behind Rokushiki, delivering a massive punch with fists bigger than its cranium to the volcano’s head.
But the latter anticipated and easily deflected the strike, intending to incinerate Panda.
However, the incessant clapping resumed.
Tōdodo in prayer-like pose appeared where Rokushiki stood, smiling with glittering eyes.
Was clapping the initiation trigger for technique?
Rokushiki pondered, then smirked wickedly. He would adapt to this technique soon enough.
Quick footsteps echoed behind him. Kasugabe with lightning speed slashed down at the smaller opponent aiming to decapitate him.
However, Rokushiki was quicker, slightly leaping and dodging the attack.
“Fall!” Dogami yanked off his turtleneck, pointing toward the airborne Rokushiki.
The word spell with Curse Energy swept over, hammering him like an unseen hand, causing Rokushiki to plummet from the sky. The ground crackled outwardly around it.
Dogami also endured significant backlash, spitting blood.
“Thanks, Dogami!”
Numban sliced through the air, uplifting and striking Rokushiki’s chin, flinging it upward. Fatty quickly capitalized, raining blows laced with Curse Energy straight onto the entity’s face.
With the force, Rokushiki flew back.
Through various feints and defenses, exploiting the enemy’s underestimation, they inflicted damage.
This clearly enraged it.
“You brats!!!”
Accompanied by Rokushiki’s roar, a fiery plume erupted from its cranium, swarming with tiny insects buzzing raucously.
“Fire砾 bugs!”
As Rokushiki waved his hand, the swarm charged like arrows toward everyone. Dogami stood forward, shielding the team and shouting, “Explode!”
Although Fire砾 bugs individually were not highly potent, their sheer quantity overwhelmed Dogami’s throat, causing searing pain regardless of repeated spray application.
Yet the effect was evident.
The advancing swarm halted abruptly mid-air, delaying momentarily before exploding en masse, showering the night like fireworks.
Explosions distorted surrounding trees and shattered glass facades. Sky glittered like rain.
A silhouette burst through flames. Rokushiki’s hands engulfed in fire lunged at the team.
Tōdō picked up a gravel pebble, infusing it with Curse Energy, hurling it towards Shinjuku’s outskirts.
Plop!
Clapping resounded again.
Leaping Rokushiki vanished instantaneously as the pebble fell pathetically.
“Spread out!”
Tōdō’s words had hardly ended as individuals scattered toward different points, fleeing.
Rokushiki landed atop a tall building, pausing for a second before realization struck. Three jets spewed from his head amidst shrill explosions, transforming the structure to liquid.
“You dare toy with me!!!”
Remembering everyone, he vowed to incinerate the mischievous few responsible.
He unleashed his Curse Energy, chasing after the nearest recognizable one.
…
“We finally escaped.”
Dashed along streets, Kasugabe even disregarded passing Cursed Spirits, intent on maximizing distance from the conflict.
“He won’t definitely come after me.” He muttered jokingly to himself.
His luck shouldn’t be that bad.
…
Only.
Suddenly, immense Curse Energy surged behind him, accompanied by an abrupt temperature rise. Kasugabe’s face froze.
Rokushiki’s nightmare reappeared once more.
This time, he faced solitude.
“Oh…”
“Real or fake? Me fighting a Special Grade?”
Kasugabe despaired with tears.
