Chapter 17: I Need Your Help
“So, you think of things we wouldn’t? Lord Gaia has already considered this, which is why he ordered me to develop some equipment to suppress him. At the very least, it should be able to control him well enough to prevent any resistance.”
When it came to this matter, Ouxs also wore a troubled expression.
Now that we were aware of the opponent’s weakness, we knew how to counter them. However, the problem lay in how to suppress him when he was at full strength, which was quite a challenge for Ouxs.
“Then, how about trying to complete this? I have a good idea.”
Aierjisi passed the blueprint of Ailin to Ouxs, urging him to work hard on it.
“This? Isn’t this the blueprint left by Lady Ailin? Why should I complete this?”
Ouxs was puzzled; why bother completing it at this point?
“Of course, it’s to counter Diablo! Ailin had you develop this for a reason. If this device could be completed, it could suppress Diablo or even drain his energy.”
“Is it really feasible? I can’t see how at all.”
Ouxs looked at the structure of the blueprint, unable to imagine how such a small thing could achieve those results.
“I understand, then I’ll try to make a prototype to see how it works. If it doesn’t work, I won’t make it again. Deal?”
“Sure! Just make that prototype. Oh, while you’re at it, can you modify this sword for me?”
Aierjisi pulled out Yake’s sword and placed it on the table.
“How do you want me to modify this?”
Ouxs stared blankly at the sword. What on earth was he supposed to do with this?
“It’s simple; just modify the grip of this sword. Use the same system as this device, alright?”
Aierjisi pointed at the magazine part of the blueprint. According to the design, something needed to be filled in there. But it seemed that Ailin hadn’t given Ouxs the design for that corresponding item.
“I got it. I’ll do my best to see if I can successfully modify it.”
“Okay, thanks a lot! Yake, let’s go. We shouldn’t interrupt him while he works.”
Aierjisi grabbed Yake and dragged him out of the room.
“Aier? Did you understand what that blueprint was about? You and Ailin have never seen it before.”
Once they left the room, Yake couldn’t hold back his curiosity. This little princess seemed to know so much that he didn’t.
“Don’t forget, I mentioned before that I’m from a place called Earth.”
“I haven’t forgotten that, but how does this relate to you being from Earth?”
“Of course, because this thing is actually from Earth! Ailin probably wanted to recreate it using technology from another world. Unfortunately, she didn’t finish, and now I have to clean up her mess.”
“Could it be that Ailin…”
After hearing Aierjisi’s words, Yake started to piece things together.
“Exactly! Ailin is from Earth, just like me. That’s why I can understand the blueprint. I know precisely what this device is for and how to use it.”
At this point, Aierjisi had nothing left to hide from Yake.
“So that’s how it is. Truly, my little princess is amazing; she can easily understand what I can’t.”
“Uh-huh! You can shower me with more compliments; I’m more versatile than you think.”
Flattered by Yake, Aierjisi beamed.
“Miss Aierjisi, Mr. Yake! There you are! I just had something I wanted to discuss with both of you. Oh, am I interrupting? Sorry for bothering you! I’ll just leave and we can talk later.”
Gaia had been looking for the two in the palace, and upon seeing them, he walked over without hesitation. However, seeing them act all lovey-dovey made him feel like he was intruding. Remembering his own moments with Ailin, he thought it best not to interrupt them and to save the discussion for later.
“Mr. Gaia? Please wait! It’s fine, we’re not busy. What did you want to discuss with us?”
Aierjisi quickly caught up and stopped Gaia, asking what he needed with them.
Ah… now that he thought about it, it did seem like an awkward moment; especially since she’d just been enjoying Yake’s head pats. It was quite an embarrassing scene!
“Well, it’s not that important. Mainly, it’s about the magical beasts around here… I wanted to ask you both for help with this issue. Of course, if you don’t want to, it’s totally fine; I won’t force you.”
Gaia explained the situation regarding the magical beasts surrounding Panimir.
Normally, due to Ailin’s presence, many beasts feared her dragon aura and wouldn’t dare come close. However, ever since she was defeated and captured by Diablo, the frequency of beast attacks at the borders had been increasing. Moreover, Panimir’s internal fighting strength had dwindled after engaging with Diablo, leaving them unable to deal with these beast problems.
“Ah, I see. So our task is to give those beasts a good thrashing to make them think twice about coming here again, right? By the way, can we kill those beasts? If we can, I’d just take care of them right away. It’s been a while since I had their blood.”
Thinking back to the times she drank the blood of magical beasts in the labyrinth, Aierjisi licked her lips. It had indeed been a long time. The blood of magical beasts provided her with a substantial amount of magic power. This task was just what she needed.
“Of course! If possible, please kill them. The residents along the border are already complaining, saying the beasts have been destroying their homes, leaving them in misery. So please make sure they don’t dare approach again.”
“I understand; I’ll take on this job. When do we leave?”
“Since it’s already getting late, we should wait until tomorrow morning to set off.”
Seeing the darkening sky outside, Gaia felt uneasy about letting her go out at night. He decided to let the residents suffer for one last night.
“Alright, tomorrow morning it is.”
