Chapter 175: The Sky’s Reversal.
“Crystallized dragon blood… This is supposed to be just a Slaying Dragon—”
The Master Swordsman’s muttering paused briefly.
This Slaying Dragon, where was it like any ordinary one?
A wider and longer Sword Tail, Storm Breath Weapon, rapidly healing Wounds, and the Wisdom in its demeanor—none of these were traits of an ordinary Slaying Dragon.
Given so many peculiarities, having some Dragon blood seemed almost reasonable.
Taking both the solidified and un-solidified samples back, Scholars should be able to determine if this truly is the unique blood of Ancient Dragons.
After pulling out a burlap sack and packing the Blood along with some broken Shell pieces, the Master Swordsman tied up the Broken Sword Tail with rope. After hesitating for a moment, he decided to leave the Sword Tail behind and walked in the direction the Slaying Dragon had fled.
The footprints of the Slaying Dragon didn’t extend far before disappearing. Searching nearby yielded no further traces, but instead, a feeling of being watched led him to find the Ancient Dragon Person.
At this moment, the Ancient Dragon Person’s straw cloak was wildly disheveled by the wind—he must not have been too far from the battle site.
“Excuse me, sir, did you see which way the Slaying Dragon went?”
The Master Swordsman asked.
Realizing that the Ancient Dragon Person couldn’t understand him, he gestured wildly with his hands and even dragged over the Broken Sword Tail as a demonstration.
The gaze beneath the Ancient Dragon Person’s cloak turned toward the Smoky Snow Weasel perched on the Master’s head. Seeing Jié Jié shake his head, the Ancient Dragon Person also shook his own.
“Alright, can you lure it out again next time?”
The Master Swordsman tilted his head slightly upward, trying to look at the Smoky Snow Weasel above him, but only received an innocent Look Around from Jié Jié.
With no choice, he returned to the previous battlefield, hoisted the Broken Sword Tail onto his shoulder with the rope, and headed back toward the Base.
Carrying the massive Broken Sword Tail on his back, the Master Swordsman drew attention from numerous Investigators, who responded with awkward smiles.
When dragging the tail severed the stairs leading up the Mountain, the crane finally descended from In the Air, carrying the Master Swordsman and the Broken Sword Tail upwards.
“Is something wrong?”
The Commander, leaning on the railing with both hands, shouted down to the Master Swordsman.
“I encountered the same Slaying Dragon we faced before—we fought!”
“‘He’?”
The Commander looked puzzled but decided to wait until he came up to ask more carefully.
Once the Broken Sword Tail was dragged up, the Master Swordsman Threw Down the burlap sack, spilling some materials out of it.
A Scholar nearby, organizing records, jumped down from a pile of books, approached to inspect the materials, and said:
“Is this the Sword Tail of that Slaying Dragon from years ago? And there’s a Dragon Slayer Stone too?”
“Did the Ancient Tree Forest reveal signs of an Ancient Dragon?”
“No, strange as it may sound, all of this came from that Slaying Dragon itself—this Blood flowed from its Wound.”
The Master Swordsman squatted down as well, beginning to recount his journey…
“Truly an incredible discovery! Could this little guy possess such abilities?”
The Commander narrowed his eyes; he wasn’t talking about merely luring Monsters but possibly intentionally guiding them to Hunters.
He glanced at the Smoky Snow Weasel, but at this moment, it appeared to be nothing more than an ordinary Smoky Snow Weasel.
While the Guild had suspicions about some strange Commissions and their equally strange initiators, they were still human-like in nature.
It wasn’t that he was overly sensitive, but such occurrences happening to the Master Swordsman weren’t the first time.
Tasks involving Ancient Dragons often left deep impressions, much like the case of a fallen noble claiming he wanted to marry the Flame Empress Dragon.
However, the information provided about the Flame Empress Dragon’s whereabouts was far more valuable to the Guild than his fanciful words, so they accepted the Commission.
The Commander shrugged; it was probably just a coincidence when the Smoky Snow Weasel and the Master Swordsman went out to play.
Speaking of which, he wished the Smoky Snow Weasel would invite him out to play too.
“It seems the unsolved mysteries of the New Continent have increased! A Slaying Dragon with Dragon blood flowing within it—whether it’s the moral decay of Ancient Dragons or the twisting of Dragon nature!”
The Compiler, helping the Scholar organize documents, joined the conversation, interrupting the Commander’s thoughts.
“Don’t interrupt! To truly verify, we need alchemical facilities, and we must learn more about that particular Slaying Dragon.”
The Scholar set down the Dragon Slayer Stone and began studying the Broken Sword Tail nearby, his eyes almost touching it. He moved slightly away only after the Compiler handed him a magnifying glass.
“The structure differs from that of an ordinary Slaying Dragon’s Sword Tail. Regardless of the size differences described by the Master, under the magnifying glass, there are some unknown hole-like structures whose functions remain unclear.”
He stroked his chin, signaling the Compiler to record.
“After waking up, I wanted to continue tracking, but the Footprints disappeared after extending a short distance. From the time I fell unconscious to waking up, it shouldn’t have been long.”
The Master Swordsman continued supplementing the details.
“Could it really bring down even the Master?”
The Commander was somewhat surprised, given how deeply ingrained the image of him crushing another peculiar Slaying Dragon with his Great Sword was.
“Cough, to my shame, after severing its Sword Tail, I got overconfident and tried to chase it, only to get knocked out by the very Broken Sword Tail I severed. At that time, I was severely exhausted.”
The Master Swordsman’s voice gradually softened, embarrassed to have lost the best chance to track due to getting knocked out by the Sword Tail.
“There’s no need for such regret. This time, you managed to sever the peculiar Slaying Dragon’s Sword Tail; next time, you’ll surely bring it down. Remember to launch Signal Flares when you need Support—it’s too dangerous to fight alone.”
Finally, the blonde man appeared. The Investigators on the road had already given him a brief summary of what happened.
“I’ve had the Chef prepare a meal for you.”
He patted the Master Swordsman’s shoulder, sensing the Exhaustion beneath the Female Fire Dragon’s Armor.
“Yeah, I think I’ve reported everything. After eating, I’ll rest a bit in the dormitory. Call me if anything comes up.”
The Master Swordsman glanced around. Seeing everyone deep in thought with lowered heads, he took his leave.
Jié Jié then jumped from his helmet to the railing, continuing to listen to the Investigation Team’s discussion.
He constantly pondered the meaning of every word in their discussions, refining his understanding through gestures, expressions, and tones.
Regarding his severed Sword Tail, he no longer felt the same regret as before—consider it payment for bringing people out to play.
At the same time, Jie Jie wondered if he should try enticing more Hunters out to play next time?
However, before he could take the initiative, the Team Leader showed up the next day.
After convincing the Ailu Cat Chef, the blonde man held a drawing of a Spiny Dragon in front of him.
He began gesturing wildly, occasionally grabbing a towel resembling a Smoky Snow Weasel and shaking it.
It looked terrifyingly Weasel-threatening!
Yet amidst confusion and shock, Jie Jie understood what the Team Leader was trying to convey:
He wanted him to lure out the Spiny Dragon.
Huh?
He thought he was playing with Hunters, but instead, Hunters wanted to use him as a tool-Weasel.
So, should he take this job?
Yes!
What is this? It’s the Hunters inviting him to come play with them!

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
