Chapter 18: The Lame One, Yet a Gymnastics Prodigy

Standing in front of the neighbor without uttering a sound and just turning away was downright rude.

Jie Jie was just standing there glaring eyeball to eyeball with the Thunder Wolf Dragon.

When large monsters meet, why isn’t this guy provoking first?

Not only did Jie Jie have this thought, but the old Thunder Wolf had the same idea, its gaze filled with doubt.

In the past, it didn’t need to intimidate with roars, fully aware that such a roar was a big opening.

Prepared to slap this opponent the moment it roared, but surprisingly, it didn’t. It just stood there as if brewing something.

The next moment, their gazes swept over each other’s entire bodies and crossed again.

With all its fur bristling, the Thunder Wolf Dragon entered an ultra-electrified state instantly and charged towards the Savage Jaw Dragon.

At the same time, Jie Jie stretched out his wing membrane, straightened his body, and from his mouth erupted a tall pillar of fire, surging towards the charging Thunder Wolf Dragon.

“Growl.”

The Thunder Wolf Dragon leaped directly off the ground, twisted its body in the air to dodge the pillar of fire, landed after running a few steps, then jumped again. Its thunderous claws aimed at the Savage Jaw Dragon’s head.

What impressive moves!

The fire dissipated, Jie Jie retracted the wing membrane and moved his body, dodging the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s attack, but unexpectedly, its agility far exceeded expectations.

After one failed strike, it used the recoil force of its landing forelimbs to soar back into the air, spinning like a Thomas spin before clawing towards Jie Jie again.

A great number of Thunder Light Bugs flew out of the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s fur, following its offensive and rushing towards Jie Jie.

This guy… he’s really stylish.

Aside from fighting the Savage Jaw Dragon being relatively easy, the monsters encountered here were not simple foes.

Jie Jie’s two clawed feet could no longer keep up with the movements; continuing would likely result in tripping himself up and falling down on the spot. He could only choose to transform back into his steps and charge towards the Thunder Wolf Dragon in the Iron Mountain Lean stance.

After one blow, he felt a numbing pain on his side, while the Thunder Wolf Dragon also landed on the ground, leaving unnatural traces with its second attack due to its lame foot.

On Jie Jie’s body, the Thunder Light Bugs clung tightly to his fur, flapping their wings and generating crackling electricity. Large patches of electric charges connected, transforming into lightning that pierced through his skin via their sharp mandibles.

It was just a tingling numbness, not much of an impact.

But more Thunder Light Bugs descended from the sky, forming a chain of lightning, flying towards him. Among them were individuals emitting intense light for suicidal attacks.

The rain of lightning was getting closer.

“Roar!”

The residual heat in the mouth transformed into a streak of flame, disappearing after cutting through the lightning in the air.

The fiery dance in the Savage Jaw Dragon’s mouth also disappeared, but the breath of scorching heat followed the giant strides as it bit towards the Thunder Wolf Dragon.

The old Thunder Wolf Dragon performed a classic backflip, leaving Jie Jie with only a slight tingling sensation in his mouth.

“Hum.”

Jie Jie shook his head, and the absolute violence of the beast dragon species snapped a tree in half, throwing it towards the Thunder Wolf Dragon.

Though powerful, the irregular tree wasn’t an excellent projectile. The Thunder Wolf Dragon easily sidestepped it with a light jump.

Its foreclaws impatiently scratched the ground, but this time the movement was significant.

This was a familiar prelude to a move known by hunters.

The Thunder Wolf Dragon instantly strained its limbs to leap, flipping its body in the air and smashing its back onto the Savage Jaw Dragon.

“Tsk.”

Seeing through this move, Jie Jie didn’t even look at the shining old Thunder Wolf Dragon in the air, resembling a thunder god. Instead, he took a huge step back, so large that he needed his tail to briefly maintain balance.

The Thunder Wolf Dragon landed in front of him with a back smash, causing the Thunder Light Bugs to flee from its body, scattering with dazzling lightning in all directions.

Just stepping back didn’t create much distance, and most of the lightning struck Jie Jie’s body, making him feel as if his skin was splitting open in pain all over.

But the tail that briefly supported him was already prepared to rebound. Jie Jie opened his mouth with unstoppable momentum, firmly biting onto the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s arm.

The Thunder Wolf Dragon’s back was quickly detaching from the ground, in a way it wasn’t proficient with.

This wasn’t easy, but trust in the strength of the beast dragon species!

Before the Thunder Wolf Dragon rolled over and mounted him, he flipped it over and slammed it to the ground first.

Due to the previous back strike, the Thunder Light Bugs left, and the two contacts with the ground caused a considerable loss of lightning. After letting out a cry of pain, the Thunder Wolf Dragon directly exited its ultra-electrified state.

Jie Jie didn’t release his bite on the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s arm, but the Thunder Wolf Dragon somehow twisted its arm and bit directly onto his nose.

It bit deep, causing Jie Jie’s eyes to turn red with pain. He lifted the Thunder Wolf Dragon again and threw it, losing a large piece of flesh from his own nose in the process.

But the Thunder Wolf Dragon wasn’t doing well either. The shell on its lame forepaw was shattered, bleeding profusely, and seemed to be deformed.

Trading bites for bites, Jie Jie felt the cool breeze of the missing piece on his nose, thinking he’d lost big time.

He wanted to chase, but after throwing the Thunder Wolf Dragon twice, his instantaneous burst of power was completely depleted, entering a physical void period.

The accumulated Thunder Light Bugs on his body were also increasing, making half of his body tingle.

Intense exercise was heating up the body of the Savage Jaw Dragon, making him involuntarily spread his wing membrane. Soon, some Thunder Light Bugs flew onto it, biting the fragile wing membrane, forcing Jie Jie to immediately retract it.

Remember, the wound on the Black Wolf Bird’s wings from the Male Fire Dragon yesterday still existed, which was inherited onto the wing membrane during the transformation into the Savage Jaw Dragon.

When Jie Jie decided to transform into the Black Wolf Bird to continue the fight, the old Thunder Wolf Dragon growled low and chose to retreat.

The Thunder Light Bugs on Jie Jie’s body gradually loosened their grip on his fur, transforming into clusters of flowing light chasing the scent of the Thunder Wolf Dragon to withdraw.

And the victorious Jie Jie sniffed his bloodied nose, the pain prompting him to transform into the Black Wolf Bird based on his earlier thoughts.

The remaining Thunder Light Bugs were powerless against the hard, smooth shell, speeding up their withdrawal.

“Suck, suck, suck.”

“Let you bite me, let you bite me, karma has come! All of you will end up in my belly.”

Transformed into the Black Wolf Bird, Jie Jie devoured all visible Thunder Light Bugs until he was satisfied, then proceeded to collect the materials left behind by the Thunder Wolf Dragon during the battle.

There weren’t many—just some fur and fragments of the shell.

After transforming from the Savage Jaw Dragon to the Black Wolf Bird, the severe injury on his nose also transformed. The Black Wolf Bird’s nose is a hole on a hard keratin structure, so there was no missing part. There was just a tingling pain and a little bleeding, which can be considered a quasi-injury-free transformation.

He could chase. The Thunder Light Bugs he just ate even allowed him to choose to transform into Thunder Light Bugs, hiding on the opponent and then suddenly transforming into a large monster for a surprise attack.

But looking back now, his eyes still saw the spinning figure of the old Thunder Wolf Dragon in the air.

The Thunder Light Bugs danced around it like stars beside the bright moon.

It wasn’t about having a thing for dragons; it was simply liking beautiful things, right?

Moreover, this guy was quite cultivated, never roaring loudly throughout the entire encounter.

Its foot was originally lame, and the new sprains and dislocations from the fight wouldn’t be lifelong disabilities for a monster. Having lived so long, it probably wouldn’t die easily.

Off he went, planning to find this old guy again sometime in the future for another gymnastics performance.
