Clear and Sunny, the afternoon sun shone through the windows onto the ancient corridor. Students dressed in various attire walked in groups, chatting as they moved forward. Among them was Nephnis.

Nephnis walked alone, weaving through the crowd. Her face was calm, her steps steady, moving resolutely ahead. Though her expression was serious, her beautiful figure and ample chest still caught the attention of male students passing by. Some male students who were walking with their girlfriends turned their heads to look at Nephnis, but were pulled back by their girlfriends pinching their ears.

“Mr. Brandon said to go to the gathering point today to guide ‘the eye’ for him. Does this mean that something is following me covertly?”

As she walked, Nephnis thought to herself, and indeed, something was following her.

At this moment, on the ceiling of the corridor, a tiny gecko was clinging there, silently following Nephnis’s footsteps. Dorothy herself was operating it from the school library.

Dorothy needed Nephnis to lead her small zombie puppet to the Secret Knowledge Society’s gathering point, where Dorothy would have the opportunity to find Thistle.

Nephnis walked steadily across the campus, turning corners and passing through several corridors. The places she went became increasingly remote, and fewer people were around. Eventually, she entered an abandoned stone tower. From inside the spiral staircase, she looked down and finally arrived at a wooden door.

Nephnis stopped in front of the wooden door and knocked according to the pattern. A hidden small window on the door opened, and a pair of eyes peered outside. After a moment, the small window closed, and the wooden door opened.

“Welcome back, comrade, for Mr. Thistle’s cause,” said the tall male student guarding the door to Nephnis, who replied respectfully.

“Mr. Thistle’s will is our highest goal…”

After finishing her response, Nephnis entered through the door, and the tiny gecko followed her in.

In front of her appeared a large, dim room supported by several pillars. The windows were few and small, set high up in the walls. The sunlight entering through the windows was limited, so some gas lamps were lit to aid in illumination.

The room was filled with tables and chairs, and towering bookshelves. Several students were inside, some engrossed in reading, others kneeling against the wall in prayer, some muttering incessantly, and others suspiciously scanning their surroundings.

On one of the walls, a banner hung prominently, reading “Seek the unknown, remember the boundaries.” However, two students were currently removing this banner and replacing it with another: “Follow Mr. Thistle, and we have no boundaries!”

As Nephnis observed the familiar surroundings, a brown-haired girl ran over and patted her shoulder, smiling.

“Hey! Neph, you’re here so early today!”

“Oh… Daisy, you startled me,” Nephnis said, patting her chest after being startled by the girl. Daisy looked at Nephnis seriously and replied.

“Why were you startled? This is our society; it’s the safest place for everyone. I just saw you looking uneasy. Do you have something to hide… I think you might have…”

Seeing Daisy’s stare, Nephnis froze, her eyes widening slightly, her heart racing.

Just then, Daisy changed her tone and continued with a smile.

“Do you have a boyfriend now? You finally came to your senses, my little Neph!”

“No way! Don’t say such things!”

Hearing Daisy’s words, Nephnis blushed and pushed down on her head, while Daisy apologized with a laugh once she stood up again.

“Haha, sorry, sorry. It was just a joke. I just thought you seemed more active today, coming to the society so early. Usually, you come much later.”

On the other side, Dorothy’s gecko puppet entered the gathering point and began crawling along the ceiling and walls, searching for Thistle. Soon, it found its target at the entrance of a corridor.

This was a corridor covered in cobwebs, likely unused for a long time, with fine, thin webs covering the ceiling, walls, and floor. At the entrance of this cobweb-covered corridor, two figures stood.

One was a well-dressed man in a black suit and shoes, tall with short brown hair, wearing a low hat and a mask. The mask was black with white patterns, radiating lines. The other was a middle-aged man with a mustache, dressed normally, looking like an outsider. He was talking with the masked man in the black suit.

“I’ve found him…”

Seeing the masked man, Dorothy thought to herself, then manipulated the gecko puppet to quickly crawl along the ceiling and eavesdrop on their conversation.

“Mr. Thistle… We’ve searched Green Shade Town thoroughly, but we haven’t found Barron or Thomas. The people in house number 23 have completely vanished. Not only can the police not find them, but we can’t either. They’ve disappeared completely!”

The middle-aged man said to the masked man named Thistle, who responded pensively.
