Chapter 20: Need Me to Help?

Chapter 20: Need Me to Help?

Under Aierjisi’s suggestion, the three of them swapped opponents, and faced with what they believed to be a very strong foe, they instantly turned the situation around.

【This little princess actually has some skills; I can’t just stand by and watch.】

Gilbaris decided right then and there that he had to jump in to help his compatriot—it was no longer possible to delay.

“Freya, let me help you.”

“No need for you to help! Just go chill over there. I can handle this guy.”

Freya clearly didn’t want to give up. If she couldn’t take care of a little girl from the Ice Dragon Clan, how could she maintain her dignity as the Ultimate Life Form?

“Freya. This isn’t the time to be prideful; we need to end this battle quickly.”

Gilbaris didn’t hold much weight on his honor as the Ultimate Life Form. As long as the outcome was a victory for them in this fight, any means were acceptable—history was always written by the victors.

“I said I don’t need it! If you come over here, I’ll be the one to knock you out first!”

Even with Gilbaris’s insistence, Freya wasn’t about to let him help her. This battle was about her dignity as an Ultimate Life Form, and she absolutely didn’t allow anyone to interfere.

“Alright, alright, you sure are stubborn. I won’t bother you then. I’ll go check on the other two.”

With no choice, Gilbaris left Freya to head over to Diablo instead.

“Diablo, I’m here to help! Let’s take down this little Phoenix together.”

“No need, this little Phoenix is indeed a bit annoying, but she can’t harm me. I can deal with her by myself, trust me on this.”

Diablo stretched his body; the last fight hadn’t really done any significant damage to him. Just some trivial injuries that could be ignored, he’d let his body heal naturally.

“Honestly, it’d be faster if we went in together. Your attacks can’t even touch her; two of us should wrap this up quickly.”

“I told you, I don’t need it. Gilbaris, just trust me this once; I can take her down on my own.”

“Fine. Then I’ll leave it to you. I’ll go check on Titan over there.”

If Diablo didn’t need help, Gilbaris had no choice but to see if Titan could use his assistance. Although he figured Titan probably wouldn’t need it either.

“Titan, need me to help you?”

“Yes, I need your help! If you come to assist, I can finish this battle really quickly; so will you come help me?”

Unlike the other two’s reactions, Titan really needed his assistance. Titan’s attacks against Yake weren’t causing any real damage; he would soon be recovering on his own. Plus, Yake could learn Titan’s threads, which put Titan on the defensive. If Gilbaris was willing to help, that would be a huge favor.

“Wait, you actually need my help… What did you just say?”

Gilbaris initially didn’t catch on, thinking Titan didn’t need his assistance just like Diablo and Freya. It dawned on him after a moment that Titan hadn’t refused his help.

“I said I need your help. Got it now? Or are you just asking for fun and not actually planning to help me?”

“Of course not! I just asked Diablo and Freya; they both didn’t need my help, so I came over here, thinking you didn’t either. Since you need my help, I’ll come assist you; together, we can take this guy down! I’ve already beaten him once.”

Gilbaris didn’t take Yake seriously, even seeing him in his fused form.

“You better be careful; this guy seems a bit tough to deal with.”

“It’s fine, it’s fine! If I could beat him once, I can do it a second time.”

Gilbaris and Titan focused on Yake, waiting for the right moment to strike.

【Oh dear, Yake, looks like you’re in a crisis now. What to do? Facing two Ultimate Life Forms—talk about a predicament!】

Aierjisi teased Yake, who was now under the gaze of two Ultimate Life Forms—what a headache!

“Don’t gloat too soon! If I get defeated, you’ll be captured too! You should think about how we can resist against them.”

Yake was exasperated with the little princess; here he was in such danger, and she was joking around like there was nothing to worry about.

【How I wish solving this problem were that simple.】

Normally, facing even one Ultimate Life Form required compatibility to have a fighting chance. And now, facing two? He might as well raise the white flag and surrender!

That was his thought, but this wasn’t a game! Unless it was truly a last resort, he absolutely couldn’t surrender. Even if he couldn’t think of a solution, he and Yake simply couldn’t give up; they had to keep fighting until they were utterly defeated.

With Aierjisi assisting with her skills, they might still hold on for a little longer. But eventually, that wouldn’t work; skills had cooldowns, and the enemies could attack during that time.

Plus, using Time Piloting was fine in a solo fight, but in a multi-fight scenario, it could disrupt enemy moves while also causing chaos among allies. For example, Ailin and Weirafiya got their fighting steps messed up due to Yake’s use of Time Piloting, throwing their barely stabilized situation back into turmoil.

【Yake, no! You can’t keep using Time Piloting! If you do, it’ll only get worse for us!】

Aierjisi noticed that Ailin and Weirafiya were in a tough spot because of her skills. She had to stop using that move.
