Chapter 211: Poison Fog

“d*mn… Are all these bats actually split off from him? It’s ridiculous that with just a bit left, he can turn back into a human!”

Seeing this scene, Dorothy anxiously thought to herself. At that moment, Claudius, who had drained some energy from the fire zombie puppet, flicked his wrist, throwing the dry corpse he was holding away. Glancing at the bats on the ground that had fallen, he focused his mind, and these bats shook off their daze, struggling and howling as they flew back up, transforming into shadows that returned to Claudius’s body.

With the return of these bats, the horrifying wounds on Claudius’s body rapidly healed as the bats rejoined him. However, they never completely healed, as the initial batch of bats that had been hit directly by the Unrelenting Force was smashed against the wall, turning into a mist of bl**d that could no longer be recovered.

“An extraordinary being capable of controlling the voice of brutality? Interesting… I originally thought it was just a ‘Cup,’ but it seems it’s more than that…”

Whispering softly, Claudius moved forward, preparing to confront the extraordinary being hidden in the darkness at the end of the corridor. Upon hearing the sound of his footsteps, Dorothy’s heart tightened.

“cr*p… That guy’s true form is coming. I’ve already used Dragon Roar, and the cooldown for the second stage Dragon Roar is at least half a day. This is not good…”

In the darkness, Dorothy thought seriously. The previous Unrelenting Force failed to defeat the opponent in one blow, leaving her in a passive position. Without Dragon Roar, it would be nearly impossible to contend with a White Chalk!

Just as Dorothy was deciding whether to turn and flee immediately or to put everything she had into a head-on clash, a rumbling sound suddenly echoed in the space.

The wall that had cracked due to Dragon Roar began to spread its fissures across the ceiling of the corridor, expanding rapidly. Ultimately, as its load-bearing structure was compromised, the ceiling of this ruin’s corridor could no longer support the weight and started to collapse.

“What…”

Hearing the strange sound, Dorothy immediately ran away from the collapse point, while Claudius, who was preparing to find the enemy in the darkness, quickly retreated.

Then, amid a series of roars, the corridor that had been brutally struck by Dragon Roar began to collapse, and chunks of the shattered ceiling fell onto the floor of the corridor.

In the end, the entire corridor was completely sealed off due to the collapse. Fortunately, this collapse was localized, with limited impact; only the section crossed by Dragon Roar fell, and Dorothy, having dodged quickly, narrowly escaped disaster.

“Phew… That was close…”

Standing at the edge of the collapse, Dorothy took out a gas lamp from the magic box, lit it, and exhaled a sigh of relief as she looked at the rubble that had sealed off her path.

“Indeed… Using Dragon Roar in a place like this is dangerous. Thankfully, I didn’t use the third stage; otherwise, the collapse wouldn’t have just been limited to one corridor… I would have likely been buried along with the entire floor.”

Dorothy felt relieved internally. If she had used the third stage of the Unrelenting Force just now, it wouldn’t have just been one corridor collapsing; the whole floor would likely have come down.

“Now, with this entire corridor’s rubble as an obstacle, that bat man shouldn’t be able to come over, right? If he were a ‘Cup’ type of White Chalk, he could probably break through all this rubble. If he were a Wall Walker, he might also swim through, but looking at his demeanor, he is neither… I hope he has no way to come over…”

Looking at the rubble before her, Dorothy sighed. Though the collapse almost buried her, it also separated her from that bat man, temporarily resolving her crisis.

“However, the price is that the exit of the ruins is on the other side of the rubble. I am now completely trapped inside this lower level of the ruins. For now, I can only think of ways to delve deeper and see if I can find an exit elsewhere…”

“So now, I can only continue moving forward.”

She murmured to herself, then took out the magic box again, pulling out two more zombie puppets and another gas lamp. She instructed one of the puppets to guard at the rubble to warn her of any sudden approach by the bat man, while the other held the lantern to lead her deeper into the ruins.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the sealed rubble, Claudius stood with his hands behind his back, coldly observing the chaotic pile of stones before him, and spoke up.

“That voice of brutality actually triggered a collapse? Hmph… Not a small feat…”

Claudius snorted and then transformed into a swarm of bats to fly back along the corridor to the previous level. He gathered at the staircase entrance, returning to his human form.

Just moments ago, Dorothy and Claudius had confronted each other on the sixth level of the ruins, and now Claudius had retreated back to the stairs leading down from the fifth level.

“However… if you think a pile of rubble can stop me, you are sorely mistaken.”

Gazing at the downward staircase, Claudius murmured, then rummaged through his pocket to pull out a small bl**d vial, opening it and drinking it. Instantly, the remaining injuries on his body rapidly healed.

Next, Claudius took out a papyrus sigil inscribed with the dual symbols of “Shadow” and “Cup.”

“Poison Fog Sigil…”

Murmuring, Claudius slapped the sigil onto his body. As the sigil burned away, he took a deep breath and consumed the “Shadow” and “Cup” spiritualities within him, opening his mouth to exhale a wave of purple-red mist toward the staircase below.

This purple-red gas seemed denser than air. After being expelled by Claudius, it quickly descended to the ground of the next level.

Claudius’s output of poison gas was substantial, and he exhaled continuously without pausing to breathe. Once this poison gas reached the sixth level, it rapidly spread outwards, rolling toward the direction of the corridor.

Thus, using the sigil, Claudius created poison gas with his spiritualities, filling the sixth level where Dorothy was located. The rolling purple-red mist seeped into the rubble, penetrating through the cracks between the stones, gradually moving from one side of the rubble to the other.

Since the rubble blocked his way, he would fill the sixth level with poison gas, ensuring that any creatures hiding within would be poisoned to d*ath. Claudius’s goal would thus be achieved.

This is a combined chapter. Recently, I’ve been struggling with my routine and trying to adjust my schedule, but I haven’t succeeded. Due to fluctuations in my writing schedule, I ended up with numerous combined chapters. Please forgive me.
