Chapter 220: She thinks she’s got this again!
The Ice Curse Dragon raised her head, which was set with traps, and was forced to face the situation.
She flapped her wings, spreading dust everywhere, but these almost weightless particles were instantly swept away by the rampant windstorm and detonated elsewhere.
“Hack hack, still not quite proficient with this move. My apologies.”
Jie Jie let out a slight roar, his sharp claws ready to strike, but an intense obstruction sensation came through.
It’s like stepping on a mouse trap.
The remaining icicles wouldn’t disperse; they gripped his claws and were about to shatter as he strained against them.
Meanwhile, the Ice Curse Dragon had already coiled her sword-like tail around her side, just in time for that icy glint to meet the opportunity.
Her claw’s shell was pierced and pinned to the ground, unable to lift.
When Jie Jie’s gaze instinctively followed that icy glint and landed on his own claw, a chill surged forth.
At such close range, endless waves of cold air rushed forward, only to be melted and sublimated by subsequent ones, until they broke through the Flame King Dragon’s domain and struck the horn controlling his flames.
Behind the barrier lay the trap set up and the long-plotted counterattack, both happening almost simultaneously.
In a moment of shivering cold, he retreated back into his Flame Storm, readjusting his state.
As the ice crystals covering his horns and mane melted, and the last traces of cold dissipated, his body temperature surged, igniting a more vigorous flame.
Up until now, the battle had been taking place on the Flame King Dragon’s home turf. Being in the Ice Curse Dragon’s domain for the first time made him somewhat careless.
But he had enough room for error to withstand the Ice Curse Dragon’s counterattack. That previous blow was her final desperate cry as her fortress crumbled.
Flattening their bodies equally, an even more surging pillar of fire erupted smoothly, sweeping away the last remnants behind the Ice Curse Dragon.
Jie Jie lifted his head, gazing at the sovereign who now only controlled a few inches of airspace.
Limited by the underground height, the Ice Curse Dragon couldn’t fly high, and with the Flame Storm sealing her off, even her last bit of territory would soon fall to his interference.
Would she counterattack or flee?
He would fight until she fled.
Dodging the Ice Curse Dragon’s sweeping breath weapon, Jie Jie leapt up with a flap of his wings. Her agility couldn’t be utilized in this narrow and severely restricted scenario, allowing him to knock her down from the air.
The flames halted on her icy armor, but fangs tore through the ice armor and crystal shell, embedding themselves into her true shell.
Coolant water sprayed out from the impact point, vaporizing upon entering the Flame King Dragon’s mouth, severing all ties with the Ice Curse Dragon.
Her struggles caused the shell in Jie Jie’s mouth to shatter faster, ultimately becoming a casualty of their combined efforts.
Turning around, she saw the piece of shell glittering with a crystalline luster in Jie Jie’s mouth. Under the reflection of the fiery glow, it seemed far more beautiful than when it was alone.
But this beauty disappeared as the Fire Lord’s teeth ground it down, and he lunged forward again, still unsatisfied.
Repeated instances of having her armor broken enraged her. Though she never feared battle, this specialized attack on her armor…
Anger turned into fear when victory seemed unattainable, and her discomfort from the changed surroundings finally manifested in her behavior.
She chose to leave this place that had become the Flame King Dragon’s stronghold.
Intending to charge forward with a Dragon Charge, she slipped and immediately turned around. The Ice Curse Dragon’s long limbs moved swiftly as she initiated a strategic retreat away from Jie Jie.
So, she’s learned her lesson?
Jie Jie, who missed his pounce, felt a bit bewildered.
Indeed, as opposites in temperature, the discomfort the Ice Curse Dragon felt from her consecutive defeats was far greater than his.
Without hesitation, he chased after her, fighting as he pursued. The regular monsters of the Dragon Crystal Land were no longer a match for him, unable to interfere with his pursuit.
The Ice Curse Dragon ascended, finally learning to escape the now boiling Dragon Crystal Land.
Jie Jie swallowed another piece of shell he’d bitten off her, balancing it by gnawing on some flammable minerals from the rock wall.
With her slender and agile limbs, she maintained a very fast running speed even in narrow spaces where flying was inconvenient, moving like a foal.
The Flame King Dragon’s limbs were the opposite—strong muscles but stubby compared to his size. His explosive power combined with his stamina allowed him to keep up this chase without pause.
Passing through countless caves, the road led to an open-air mineral basin, allowing the Ice Curse Dragon to take off smoothly.
After taking off, she seemed to regain her courage, turning back to roar at Jie Jie.
The Ice Curse Dragon wasn’t a newcomer to the Dragon Crystal Land and had even been active in the New Continent. She had battled both the Flame King Dragon and the Extinction Dragon. Limited by the underground height, her moves were restricted, but in the sky, it was a different story.
As long as she climbed high enough, the Extinction Dragon and Flame King Dragon would reveal their weaknesses in aerial combat.
The Extinction Dragon lacked leverage to unleash powerful attacks, and the Flame King Dragon’s dust was heavily disturbed by high-altitude air currents, making it unstable.
Only she could dance gracefully in the sky, jumping and spinning!
As for the Steel Dragon?
Ahem, the Steel Dragon wouldn’t chase her to death.
(Shifting eyes, preparing to flee.)
And on the ground, Jie Jie looked up at the Ice Curse Dragon in the sky, eyes wide.
Is she mocking me?
Jie Jie spread his wings, and flowing through his body was not only flames but also obedient air currents.
Perhaps he couldn’t perfectly utilize the Steel Dragon’s abilities in other forms, but leveling the playing field was more than enough!
The Flame King Dragon fully unfurled his wings, climbing naturally in the air.
To make up for structural disadvantages, let’s compensate with breath weapons!
“Isn’t it your favorite to stay aloft and refuse to come down?”
One air cannon after another was unleashed into dragon rolls, making the Ice Curse Dragon’s flight in the high altitudes wobble precariously.
As stability was lost, her altitude in the air began to drop.
High-to-low combat, dumb “beep -“.
Faced with increasingly accurate air cannons, the Ice Curse Dragon let out a roar filled with shock and anger before turning and fleeing.
Jie Jie flapped his wings closely behind her, occasionally spitting wind balls to give the Ice Curse Dragon a sense of urgency.
The scorching Dragon Crystal Land was being left behind, and towering plateaus were visible ahead.
Was she flying south towards the New Continent?
Shouldn’t the Eternal Frostland be in the northwest direction of the New Continent?
A chill traveled along the air current over the Flame King Dragon’s body.
How cold.
The Ice Curse Dragon’s coldness was spreading across the airspace, her terrifying climate-changing ability finally able to manifest after leaving the Dragon Crystal Land.
Realizing this, Jie Jie started chasing her in the air.
But the Ice Curse Dragon also sensed the surrounding environment becoming increasingly comfortable, freeing herself from the shadow of the Flame King Dragon’s demise.
Both terror and discomfort faded, and her spirit soared once again!
The high temperatures of the Crystal Land had been left behind. As long as she could reach the plateau rich in water resources—
Water would freeze, and winter would come.
She feels she can do it again!

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
