Chapter 215 – Escape
“I am in danger now? Miss Dorothy asked me to leave the school immediately? What’s happening?”
Nephnis frowned slightly as she read the words on the page before her, then quickly picked up a pen and wrote down her response.
“What’s going on? Miss Dorothy, how is the situation below? Are you okay now?”
Nephnis wrote down this series of questions on the page. Soon after, the reply appeared before her eyes once more.
“I’m doing well for now, so don’t worry about me. The key thing now is you. Thistle and the others have spotted you. You must leave the school immediately! The farther away, the better. Ideally, find a carriage to go to the city right now.”
Seeing the words on the page indicating that Thistle might already be onto her, Nephnis felt a tightness in her heart and immediately realized the severity of the situation. She promptly picked up her pen and continued writing.
“I understand. I’ll leave right away. But it’s very late now, and there are no taxi carriages around King Campus at this hour. If I can’t find one, I won’t be able to head to the city immediately.”
After finishing her writing, the words quickly disappeared into the book. After a while, a new reply gradually appeared.
“Your top priority now is to leave the school immediately. Don’t stay inside any longer. If you can’t find a carriage, you can wait at the River Ditch Bridge.”
‘Should I leave the school first?’
Looking at the words on the page, Nephnis hesitated briefly. After some thought, she decided to follow Dorothy’s instructions and leave immediately.
Resolute, Nephnis responded with “Okay” on the book and immediately stood up from her seat. She closed the history book in front of her and placed it into the bag beside the desk. Then, she slung the bag over her shoulder, turned off the desk lamp, and hurriedly left the dormitory, closing the door behind her.
Hearing the sound of the door closing, Emma poked her head out from under the covers and looked around, then muttered drowsily.
“The review pressure is too high, wanting to go out and play? Indeed, it’s best not to push oneself…”
After saying this, Emma buried her head back into the covers.
…
King Campus, the gathering point of the Secret Knowledge Society.
In the spacious gathering area, lights illuminated the space. In front of the spider-web corridor, Thistle stood silently. Before him were five figures.
Among these people, two were henchmen of the Eight Pinnacle Nest who had escaped punishment during the previous sneak attack because they were not inside the inner district. The other three were students of the Secret Knowledge Society, the ones most deeply corrupted by “The Queue of the Queen,” and also the three Thistle trusted the most. Leading them was Eli, as the students lived in their own dorms and did not reside in the inner district, thus avoiding disaster.
“Mr. Thistle, why did you urgently call us here… Is there an emergency?”
Eli spoke with utmost respect as he looked at Thistle, who had returned to his leadership position. Thistle stood with his hands behind his back, speaking in his usual commanding tone.
“I called you here because there is a critical task. I just discovered that there may be an organization within this school that is against us, secretly opposing us.”
“What… an organization hostile to us?” Hearing Thistle’s words, Eli furrowed his brow, and Thistle continued.
“Yes, their activities have caused us minor losses, though they are not serious. Since they dare to confront us directly, we must find and eliminate them.”
“Now, I have some information about one of their members. It’s a woman with dark skin and a good figure. I need you to search the school for someone fitting these characteristics and bring her to me!”
Thistle said seriously. Upon hearing this, the expressions of the five people in front of him varied, and Eli stared in disbelief.
“A woman with dark skin and a good figure… No way, could it be… Boyle!?”
Eli said incredulously. Hearing his words, Thistle paused momentarily and then immediately questioned Eli.
“Boyle? Why? Have you seen that woman?”
Thistle asked Eli, who quickly knelt down in fear upon hearing Thistle’s question.
“I apologize, Mr. Thistle. This Boyle is a member of our society! She passed your test just a few days ago and was given permission to enter the inner district… I never expected her to have ulterior motives, causing trouble for you, sir. Please punish me!”
“What… she’s actually a member of our society?”
Hearing Eli’s words, Thistle paused briefly and then carefully recalled his memories from nearly half a year ago when he was focused on corrupting the Secret Knowledge Society. After careful consideration, he realized there indeed was such a person.
‘Boyle… Could she be the member of the Rosy Cross? Her infiltration into the Secret Knowledge Society and resistance to Secret Transmission’s poison recognition methods to gain trust and enter the inner district—could she be the mole responsible for today’s events?’
Thistle pondered this in his mind, and his anger flared up instantly. He spoke angrily.
“Where is that Boyle now? Take me to her immediately! I want to capture her myself!”
…
Deep within the underground ruins, above the advanced secret room.
Dorothy sat on a stone step, relieved after seeing Nephnis’s response, and began planning her next move.
‘Nephnis has started leaving the school. Although nothing has happened yet, if those people decide to pursue her determinedly, there will be significant risks. Nephnis is a formal member of their inner society. If those people have anti-defection measures, they might have extraordinary tracking methods to locate her.’
‘Therefore, it would be best to send Nephnis to a safe place where she can evade the pursuit of the Eight Pinnacle Nest… But what place is truly safe?’
Dorothy pondered this. Beverly’s home was inaccessible without a referral, making it impossible. The White Stone Craftsmen Guild remained neutral, and whether they would take in a pursued individual was uncertain. As for the An Yin Bureau, Dorothy didn’t know where Tivyán’s main office was, so it was also impractical.
Sitting on the stone steps, Dorothy racked her brain to find a safe place for Nephnis to hide from the Eight Pinnacle Nest. Just as she was at a loss, a familiar prayer suddenly echoed in her mind.
Upon hearing this voice, Dorothy’s eyebrows lifted, and she snapped her fingers in realization.
“I’ve got it, tsk… How could I not have thought of this earlier? Isn’t she supposed to be in Tivyán now?”
Muttering to herself, Dorothy immediately began flipping through her “Navigation of the Literary Sea.” After a while, she found Vania’s communication page and wrote on it with a pen.
“Are you there?”

Still in the process of adjusting my sleep schedule, but I can’t resist falling asleep during the day.
